The [[Recap/KidsIncorporatedS6E4CareerJeers second consecutive episode]] to focus on Stacy serves as the first VerySpecialEpisode of Season 6; as she’s shaken by learning her grandfather (guest star Gene O’Donnell, a veteran character actor whose career dated to TheForties) is moving to a retirement home.

The somber tone of the episode is [[MoodWhiplash not noticeable immediately]]; with the opening performance an energetic cover of “I Only Want to Be With You” before the main plot kicks off with a series of senior citizen-themed jokes (Flip telling one about elderly newlyweds for starters; followed by Richie complaining of soreness after bending down and - after helping straighten him up - Devyn complaining of a sore wrist)…unaware at this point of Stacy’s growing annoyance before the kids return to the stage (“From Me to You”).

Back at the counter, Stacy decides she doesn’t want anything before revealing why she was so glum - as her grandfather; who she was very close to, had just been placed into a rest home; with Stacy feeling she couldn’t bring herself to see him there, preferring to remember him in his more active days. This sparks a discussion with the others on their thoughts about aging, setting up “We’re Old”. Next, we see Stacy flipping through a family photo album while reminiscing about an incident where she went on stage at a club her grandfather and some of his friends were at and singing “Jingle Bells”, which marked the first time she sang in public. That memory appears to be what convinces Stacy to go visit him - alone - to say “thanks” if nothing else (“All This Time”)

We then return to the P*lace, where the anxious other band members awaited Stacy’s return when Stacy returns mentioning how active her grandfather and some of the other retirement home residents were, even inviting her grandfather and some of the others to a concert, setting up closing song “More Than You Know”; which ends with Stacy and her grandfather embracing.
