The episode begins with Chisel and Anastia mapping their route to Sycophorem, the jellyfish behemoth. One route would bring them closer to the accipros but it would take less time, while the other would simply put them closer to the Jagged coast and take longer. They opt to edge around the accipros and proceed to craft some gear for the journey. Chisel makes a for herself and armor for Ato meanwhile Anastia makes a bag, in an attempt to one up Chisel in some way. After asking Ato to join them the newly formed pod heads out of the village and into the open ocean. While they're traveling Anastia notices some pearl-like objects and decides to investigate. Unfortunately for her, they turn out to be cutter fish eggs and the parents quickly attack her and the rest of the pod. The fighting then attacks a shark which the pod must also deal with. After killing all the creatures the pod tries to harvest what they can from them. Unfortunately, they are unfamiliar the creatures and only get a single cutter fish egg. Ato then chews out Anastia for her reckless behavior. Chisel, feeling bad for Anastia, looks for something shiny to give her. Chisel ends up finding a pristine metal object on the ocean floor (revealed to be a gear out of character), and gives it to her. Due to the rarity of metal on Kasvar the pod decides to investigate for more, finding a few more gears of different sizes. While investigating one of the gears Chisel accidentally lets out one of her magic spells causing the area to glow. This attracts the attention of an accipros nest ship and some divers, who investigate the area. The pod manages to sucessful hide from them and notices that one of them dropped something as they were leaving. Chisel picks the objects up an a fan (Kyle states it's similar to an ancient Egyptian Flabellum) and a book which Anastia identifies as a formulist tome.
