Sansa. Baelish says "No, his mother should have. A lon g tine ago"admits that Little Robin had it a long time coming.

** Bronn's meeting with Tyrion in his cell echoes Podrick's farewell to Tyrion. Podrick has UndyingLoyalty whereas Bronn has his limits. Despite this, Tyrion parts with him on relatively decent terms, with Tyrion wishing both well.

* {{Badass}}: When discussing facing Gregor Clegane, Bronn assesses his chances and the Mountain's strengths and he even tells Tyrion that he thinks he can take out Gregor given a proportionately large price.

* KnightTemplar: Daenerys is slowly becoming like this and Jorah tries to counsel her against it, noting the same tendency in Ned Stark nearly led to his execution and denial of a second chance to redeem his honor.

* LovableTraitor: Bronn manages to make himself endearing even when he's leaving Tyrion to die, telling him that he won't fight for him against Gregor and that he will take Cersei's offer and call it quits. Tyrion even shakes his hands in goodbye.

* MightyGlacier: Bronn's assessment of Gregor Clegane:
--> "He's freakish big and freakish strong and quicker than you'd expect for a man of that size. Maybe I could take him. Dance around till he's so tired that I can at least knock his sword, get him off his feet somehow. But [[OneHitKill one mis-step and I'm dead]]."

* NotSoDifferent: Jorah Mormont identifies this regarding his own past as a slaver, feeling that his situation is not so far from that of the slavers that Daenerys wants to summarily execute. He even compares her actions to one of her father's enemies, Ned Stark, who would likewise have executed him without hearing a word in his defense.
** Daenerys also reminds Jorah when he criticizes Daario for being a mercenary that he served with [[PrivateMilitaryContractors The Golden Company]] himself.
* PetTheDog: Oberyn Martell to Tyrion Lannister, telling him his reaction to first glimpsing him as a child, when everyone had called him a monster.
--> "That's not a monster, I told Cersei, that's just a baby."

* TheResenter: Tyrion's conversation with Jaime reveals that as much as he loves his brother, it hurts him that Jaime could get back on his father's good books despite all the stuff he did because he's the "golden child" while nothing Tyrion ever does will get him so much as a kind word.

** In the books, it is Oberyn's mother who took the young Martells to Casterly Rock and not his father. She had been friends with Joanna Lannister, Tywin's wife and hoped to set a match between the Lannister twins and the Martell siblings.

* BreakTheCutie: Sansa, once again. This time her aunt tries to murder her.

** When Tyrion talks to Jaime about Shae, he mentions that he fell in love with a whore and expected her to love him. Jaime has a look of recognition and regret, a CallBack to ''Baelor'' when Tyrion discusses his first wife, Tysha, a prostitute Jaime engaged as a MeetCute to give his brother real happiness that ultimately went FromBadToWorse.

* ConsummateLiar / BelievingTheirOwnLies: Oberyn discusses Cersei trying to gain sympathy from him by discussing Myrcella in a blatant attempt to turn him against Tyrion, he noted that she might have even been sincere or started believing it while she was lying. Tyrion agrees:

She's totally unafraid and calm in Gregor's presence.

* MoodWhiplash: One minute Littlefinger is being charming and kind, talking about Sansa as if she could have been the daughter he had with Cat. Then he comes on to her, telling her that she's even more beautiful and kisses her.
** In the middle of Tyrion's conversation with Jaime, where the latter berates him for shooting his mouth and then mentions he can't champion Tyrion without his main sword hand, he and Tyrion suddenly defuse the situation discussing the look on Tywin's face if Jaime died in battle with Gregor Clegane, losing both his sons in one fell swoop.
* NoodleIncident: At one time, the Martells and the Lannisters weren't so unfriendly and Oberyn's father had taken him and Elia to Casterly Rock for a visit, during his first time away from Dorne. He mentions meeting Tyrion as a baby.

** When Sansa asks him why he killed Joffrey, Littlefinger cites Catelyn's death as his reason. Littlefinger then talks about creating a better world where people of real feelings can triumph over those with strength in arms, citing his defeat by Brandon Stark. The implication is that he plunged the entire realm into war solely out of hatred for its obsolete feudal customs keeping him away from his true love. Of course, [[BelievingTheirOwnLies that might be what Littlefinger tells himself]] and it might even be true, Littlefinger is that kind of guy.

We end in '''The Eyrie''', which is covered in snow. Sansa, wandering aimlessly, wanders outside and decides to make a snow-Winterfell. She's made quite a bit of progress on it when Robin comes out. He asks her a little about Winterfell and why she left― he can't leave; he's Lord Of The Vale and that makes him really important― and asks how they made people fly at Winterfell. He's horrified to hear that they didn't: here at Eyrie they can make ''anyone'' fly and someday, when they're married, so can she! Won't that be ''great''? He reaches out to add a Moon Door and collapses one of the buildings.

Sansa promptly bites his head off, telling him that he ''ruined'' it. He snaps back that it was already ruined, how could it ''not'' be ruined when it didn't have an awesome Moon Door? The Warden Of The East and the Heiress To The North get into a remarkably petty argument which ends in her slapping him. He bursts into tears and runs off. She's stands there, realizing that this will have consequences when Littlefinger appears. He tells her not to worry about it, that Lysa should have slapped him long ago, and muses that perhaps to make a better home you have to destroy the old one. Why did you kill Joffrey? asks Sansa. Because I loved Catelyn, says Littlefinger, and what do we do those who hurt the ones we love? ([--[[EarWorm leeeave them to die!]]--]) In a better world, you might've been my daughter. Then he kisses her, not knowing that Lysa is watching.

Later on, Sansa is summoned to the Throne Room. Lysa is waiting for her, and the Moon Door is open. She amiably tells Sansa to come over to the Door. She tells Sansa that she knows what she did. Sansa begins to apologize for slapping Robin, when Lysa cuts her off. ''You kissed him'' she says and holds her near the door, raving about how she ''saw'' it and how Petyr's ''hers'' and how everyone stood ''between'' them and now they're all ''dead''.

[[ARareSentence Littlefinger saves the day]].

We start in '''King's Landing''', in the dungeon, where Jaime's going off on Tyrion throwing his life away. Tyrion admits to a certain lack of wisdom in his conduct, but takes a small bit of pleasure from ruining Tywin's plan. His own plan is ruined when Jaime makes it clear that he's in no shape to champion him. After a second of morbidly trying to cajole his brother, which falls flat, Tyrion sighs that Bronn once fought for him. Hopefully Meryn Trant will fight against him; ''that'' is man he'd like to see die. Jaime bears the bad news a second time: the champion's been chosen, and it's not Meryn Trant...

We go outside, where [[TheDreaded Gregor Clegane]] is hacking away at prisoners. They seem to have been given weapons, but they may as well not have, for all the good it does them. Cersei comes in to thank Gregor, who asks who he's fighting. Does it matter? she asks. He shakes his head.

Travelling in the '''Riverlands''', Arya and Sandor debate entering a burned out village. They do, and find a man dying of a stomach wound. He doesn't even know who the troops fought for. The three of them have and oddly philosophical conversation on death, until Sandor puts the man out of his misery. The heart is right there, he says to Arya as he wipes off his blade. Then he's attacked from behind.

Sandor takes his attacker quickly, neck wound aside, and then turns to see the bounty hunter's companion. The three of them have an oddly ''civil'' conversation, where the hunter informs Clegane of the bounty. Arya recognizes him from Jaqen H'ghar's cart. Is he on your list? says Sandor. He can't be; I don't know his name, she says as she walks up to him, what's your name? Rorge, he says. Arya quick-draws and puts her sword through his heart. You're learning! says The Hound.

Jon Snow and friends return to '''Castle Black'''. The happy scene is ruined by Allister Thorne, again, when he shows up to tell Jon to either lock Ghost up, or see him eaten at supper. Later, in the the great hall, Jon gives his report. They could see Mance's army as they left. He coming, and they can't defend the castle. He recommends sealing the tunnel. This gets a ''[[NoJustNoReaction hell]]'' [[NoJustNoReaction no-type reaction]] from Thorne, as the Watch has defended the castle for a thousand years without closing off the only way north. Some of Watch takes Jon's side, so Thorne asks the First Builder's opinion, which is a hesitant no. Jon and Sam are sent atop the Wall as lookouts.

In '''King's Landing''', Bronn shows up at Tyrion's cell, dressed in fine new clothes. It seems that Cersei has arranged his marriage to Lollys Stokeworth. He's already planning to bump her up the inheritance ladder. You and my sister were made for each other, says Tyrion, why did you even come? Really, the only reason he came was because he promised Tyrion a chance to get the last bid. Tyrion tries a large chunk of the North, an appeal to pride, and an appeal to friendship, but none of these can make Bronn fight The Mountain when he can have Lollys. Resignedly, but with no ill-feeling, Tyrion shakes his hand in farewell. What will you do? Bronn asks. I suppose I'll have to kill The Mountain myself, Tyrion says, I guess it'll make a good song.

In '''Meereen''', Daenerys enters her private quarters, only to find Daario. Apparently, she keeps the window unguarded. He even brought flowers. She snaps at him that if she wants him in her private quarters, she'll summon him, and asks why he's here. He asks her a favor: the gods gave him only two talents, war and women, and he's can't pursue either of them. The Second Sons are police officers now, and there are no women. She points out that there are a thousand women in Meereen, to which he says that there's only one. If she orders it, he'll stay and police, but he want to do what he does best. With a wineglass in hand, and an "eh, what the hell" expression on her face, she tells him to ''do what he does best''. Take off your clothes, she says.

Elsewhere, in '''Dragonstone''', Melisandre is taking a bath. When Selyse Baratheon enters, she asks her to grab one of the vials from the shelf. It seems that the Lord of Light was kind enough to tell her that she won't get another bath for a while, so she intends to enjoy this one. She has to explain to Selyse that she's joking. Selyse apologizes for her lack of humor to which Melisandre says That's because most jokes are lies, and you are devoted to the truth. She goes on to explain what the vials do― a pyrotechnic trick, a powerful stink bomb, a lust potion― all acceptable tricks if they get nonbelievers to make that first step. God will do the rest.

Selyse asks if she used the lust potion on Stannis and, getting a no, goes on a bit of tangent on how grateful she is that Melisandre came. She mentions Shireen; she doesn't want her to join them when they set sail. I know how you feel, says Melisandre, but it's important that she comes. A time will come when she is needed― she glances at that fire that she's so desperate to feed king's blood― as well as your strength.

The next morning, in '''Meereen''', Jorah passes by Daario on his way to see Dany. She see him, realizes he knows, and notes that probably doesn't approve. Matter of fact, he doesn't. He asks how she could have faith in man who killed his two commanders. I have no faith in him, she says, and tells him that Daario, and Second Sons are going to retake Yunkai. He's less than thrilled with that, pointing out that the Masters will just bide their time. She cheerfully tells him her solution to that: KillThemAll! She begins to reel off all the reasons why they have it coming while he argues out that this is NotSoDifferent from how ''they'' act, but doesn't get anywhere until he points out that he was once a slaver. If Ned Stark had treated him as she intends to treat Yunkai, then he wouldn't be here today. This strikes a chord with her. She decides to send Hizdahr zo Loraq as her ambassador. The Yunkish have a choice: live in her new world, or die in there old one.

In the '''Riverlands''', Sandor Clegane cusses at no-one in particular as he tries to clean his wound. Arya recommends he burn it out, to he tells her to shut up. He says that this is all her fault, that she's turned him into a bag a coins, that he wished he never met her. Eventually he ends up on his maiming. Gregor burned him for stealing a toy (which he like totally didn't, it was just lying there), and his father told everyone that his bed caught afire. Ultimately, Ayra helps clean the wound.

Meanwhile, in a tavern, Brienne and Podrick are eating kidney pie. Unfortunately, their waiter is Hot Pie. At the first opportunity he starts going on and on and on about the proper making of pie. He goes on a variety of topics, much to the duo's annoyance, and eventually gets out of Brienne that she's here looking for Sansa Stark. Hot Pie freezes up at that, says that the Starks are traitors, and takes his leave.

As they leave, Brienne senses that Pod wants to say something. When he does, it's to say that maybe they shouldn't advertise their mission like that, given all the Lannister swords on Sansa's trail. Hot Pie comes out. He tells Brienne that she seems trustworthy, and tells her about Arya. Later, on the road, Brienne and Podrick discuss the next move. Tyrion had made Pod memorize the vast spider web that is Westerosi' genealogy, so he knows that the Arryns are her last living kin.

It's night in '''King's Landing'''. Oberyn enters Tyrion's cell. After a bit of banter, he recounts how Cersei approached him two episodes ago; she really wants him dead. "She has my passion for dead Lannisters." Oberyn recalls the first time the two of them met, to Tyrion's confusion. He was only a baby when Oberyn arrived at Casterly Rock. Oberyn comments that although he hated everything about the place, the biggest disappointment was Tyrion. All the people spoke of how hideous he was: that he had a head twice the size of his body, a tail, a single red eye, that he was a ''monster''― Tyrion looks increasingly close to tears at this― but instead he was just this reasonably average baby. Cersei, who had showed him Tyrion, actually grabbed his cock and twisted until Jaime made her stop. She said that Tyrion should be dead.

Sooner or later, Tyrion says bitterly, she gets what she wants. Oberyn says What about what I want? I want justice. If you want justice, says Tyrion, than you've come to the wrong place. Oberyn disagrees: all the people he wants to bring justice to are here. He'll [[WhamLine start with Gregor Clegane]]. I'll be your champion, he says.
