Paid, not payed.

The story starts in the Giant's Forest, with two guys, Fighter and Black Mage, walking lost within it due to Fighter believing from an old man he payed that within said forest lays the "Cave of No Return," where the mystical Armor of Invincibility lays. Black Mage then stats the ''he'll'' pick the adventures from then on. Later, while trying to find a way out, they come across a giant, causing BM to flee, leaving the giant to Fighter, only for the former to be assaulted by a robber. Despite being out-powered by the robber, he's rescued by Fighter, while the robber gets stepped on by the pursuing giant. BM then comes up with a plan, reading from "Nintendo Power" booklet, and asks for Fighter to distract the giant while he prepares. Reading the booklet as Fighter is brutally beaten down by the giant, BM laughs at a "four white mages team." saying it'll never work. Prepared, (as Fighter is nearly dead), Black Mage uses "Hadoken" to obliterate the giant, along with the entire forest, (except for the robber), much to Fighter's displeasure. While walking back to town with the robber on their trail, Fighter reveals he gave the old man all their gold in exchange for "information on where to find an adventure," much to BM anger. Just as they reach town, they have a 'Random Encounter,' and despite Fighter's taunts hyping up BM being able to destroy them with Hadoken, its revealed that he can only use that skill once a day, and with no other options left, BM improvises by using "Fighterdoken," flinging Fighter straight into the monsters as he uses "Two-Fisted Monkey Style Attack" to slay the monsters.

The man in red calls himself Red Mage, a rather pompous {{munchkin}} who wishes to join them as well. However, because the job only asks for four, someone must be voted off. They decide to use [=BM's=] hat to cast the votes, and despite [=BM's=] insistence of using [=RM's=] hat, BM decides to use his, only to ask that he hide so not show his face to anyone. While by himself, he learns that they intend to vote him off, and despite him wanting to kill them all, he instead decides to cheat, voting Fighter away. His plans are interrupted when a little boy called Onion Kid bumps into him, causing the kid to catch a look on [=BM's=] true face. Traumatized, the kid lets out a scream before blacking out, causing the rest of the party to catch BM trying to trash the vote (and kid) in the garbage. Despite [=WM's=] healing attempt, she fails to see anything wrong with him, unaware of the fact that Onion Kid has been traumatized by [=BM's=] face. After Onion Kid wakes up, BM immediately has him scamper off, whispering of redefining the world as living pain to the child. After destroying the votes with a fire magic spell, BM admits the votes would be pointless and that the only ones that can be voted off are White Mage and Red Mage. In a tie breaker decided by Fighter, Red Mage's affinity for swords winds up being the dealbreaker, voting of White Mage to [=BM's=] fury.

Later, while trying to find a way out, they come across a giant, causing [=BM=] to flee, leaving the giant to Fighter, only for the former to be assaulted by a robber. Despite being out-powered by the robber, he's rescued by Fighter, while the robber gets stepped on by the pursuing giant. [=BM=] then comes up with a plan, reading from "Nintendo Power" booklet, and asks for Fighter to distract the giant while he prepares. Reading the booklet as Fighter is brutally beaten down by the giant, [=BM=] laughs at a "four white mages team." saying it'll never work. Prepared, (as Fighter is nearly dead), Black Mage uses "Hadoken" to obliterate the giant, along with the entire forest, (except for the robber), much to Fighter's displeasure.
