* YouCantThwartStageOne: As with the previous episode, Cricket and the Greens are unable to stop Chip from detonating Big Coffee and the Elkins building, and they have no success at preventing the megastore's construction.

** Gloria mentions Cricket's feud with Chip is the reason Big Coffee was shut down; this was most likely referring to the forgiveness contract the family signed in "Reckoning Ball" when they believed Chip changed his ways so he can take over his dad's position as CEO, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero which all led right up to this]].

* LaserGuidedKarma: After ''everything'' Chip did to the Greens, and especially for trying to kill them as well, he rightfully gets his comeuppance by getting banned from Big City forever. On top of that, he gets flinged far away while inside his helicopter.

* NearVillainVictory: The Wholesome Foods Megastore is built over the Greens' house, resulting in gardening almost impossible, and the family almost moves out. And Cricket manages to gather proof that the petition is fake, only for Chip to destroy it. If Nancy hadn't forwarded the petition to Bill's phone and Cricket hadn't realized the petition was fake, and if all of Big City didn't show up to stand up for them, Chip would've won.

** Cricket when all the evidence gets ripped to shreds by Chip's helicopter, followed by an even bigger one when he is almost killed by it prior to jumping to safety. Tilly and Bill have the same reaction to the following, Bill especially.

* OffModel: When Chip activates the detonator and Big Coffee explodes, the Greens' roof garden is missing from, well, the roof.

* KarmaHoudini: Despite Chip getting banned from Big City, he receives no other punishments for nearly killing Cricket and his family (and possibly, all the Big Citygoers who stuck up for them).

* LaserGuidedKarma: After ''everything'' Chip did to the Greens, and especially for trying to kill them as well, he rightfully gets his comeuppance by getting banned from Big City forever.

* {{Irony}}: In spite of wanting to run the Greens out of Big City, Chip ends up running ''himself'' out instead, both the town and presumably the Earth.

* TheCameo: One of the neighbors having been evicted from the apartment complex is the librarian Tilly called in the ''Random Rings'' shorts.

** Just before Chip detonates Big Coffee and the apartment complex, Cricket brings up launching a chicken into outer space. He brings it up again when Chip's helicopter is launched into the sky thanks to the telephone pole wires.

** Cricket when all the evidence gets ripped to shreds by Chip's helicopter, followed by an even bigger one when he is almost killed by it prior to jumping to safety.

* AdultFear: Seeing your child nearly get ''shredded to death'' by a helicopter, on a rooftop. It's a good thing Bill managed to catch Cricket when he jumped off just in time (and Cricket in turn screamed that someone had better catch him).

* VillainousBreakdown: Chip decides to just kill the Greens with a helicopter when his plans fall apart.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: When issuing the false destruction petition, it didn't occur to Chip that not everyone would want the Greens' home destroyed, given their CharacterDevelopment and how much the city has grown to love them and accept them as part of the community. He just straight-up puts their names on the petition without thinking, Remy's in particular, prompting Cricket to confront him and eventually realize the petition was fake.
* DownerBeginning: The episode starts with Big Coffee shut down by Chip (in the events of the previous episode), the Greens' neighbors moving out, Big Coffee and the apartment building being detonated, the Wholesome Foods Megastore being constructed around the Greens' house, and as it couldn't get any worse, their house is Chip's final target.

* EvolvingCredits: The wet floor sign in the Big Coffee scene of the end credits is replaced with one for Don & Dawn realtors.

* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: If Bill's plan to move to a cheap city apartment (in their price range) is of any indication, not even destroying the Green's house would have gotten them out of the city, meaning that all of Chip's actions would have been for nothing, and the Greens won't leave Big City no matter what. And even if he gets to destroy the apartment building, who's to say they wouldn't just move to another? Or possibly move in with someone they know like Remy's mansion? ''And'' even if they did left the city in that case, Wholesome Foods sure could get some blacklash for destroying two apartment buildings and leaving many people homeless. In any case, Chip wouldn't get the happy ending he wants.

* OneDimensionalThinking: Chip's final attempt to take down the Greens with his helicopter would've worked if he just maneuvered the helicopter down and then forward, instead of just straight down at them. Cricket actually sees this flaw.

** As high as stakes are, the Greens, their house, Big Coffee, and all of Elkins Street have to survive by episode's end, because they appear in Cricket's imagined future in "Time Crisis". Big Coffee, however, remains out of business.

* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: The episode promo spoils the scene where Cricket leaps off the megastore roof to avoid getting killed by Chip's helicopter.
