* In 0.7 Part 2, we finally get to see [=FatalError!Sans=], and he is nothing short of pure nightmare fuel. Even before he is properly introduced, his red eyes pop up for a moment before violently whisking away Cross and Ink!Sans from XGaster to his corrupted save world. It doesn't get any better when he is shown on-screen, utterly glitched out with computer crash screens and glitch marks, with a slasher smile and a dialogue that is scattered across the screen.

0.7 Part 2: Fatal enters the fight

* In 0.7 Part 2, we finally get to see [=FatalError!Sans=], and he is nothing short of pure nightmare fuel. Even before he is properly introduced, his red eyes pop up for a moment before violently whisking away Cross and Ink!Sans from XGaster to his corrupted save world. It doesn't get any better when he is shown on-screen, utterly glitched out with computer crash screens and glitch marks, with a slasher smile and a dialogue that is scattered across the screen.
** The fight is an essentially one-sided beatdown as both Cross and Ink!Sans are barely able to defend themselves. The battlefield is so utterly corrupted that Cross has a hard time seeing past the corruption, Ink is unable to teleport them out of that world, and Fatal's strings are able to cut through anything like a hot knife.
** The red strings in general. The comics state that the strings are made out of determination, but we can see here that they are far more efficient than Error!Sans' strings. They may not be able to grab anyone's souls, but they can still burn through anyone and anything. Just ask Ink, whose arm nearly got ripped off (though at least he can't feel pain), or Cross, who had to sacrifice his hand to break free from Fatal's strings.
** Fatal's eyes are indications of his emotions. Red and blue eyes indicate default state, blue eyes indicate sadness or frustration, and red eyes indicate danger and/or single-minded hunt. For most of the fight, Fatal's eyes are ''red''. He is genuinely determined to retrieve their code, and nothing short of a KO will stop him.
** It's really telling that Ink, who didn't break a sweat against most of the threats of this series, including XChara and Error, is now having serious trouble taking down Fatal.

*In the Prequel Comic, the tenth timeline sees denizens of the Underground realize they can't actually remember anything about the Surface, with written records also being non-existent. Even Gerson, someone who ostensibly lived on the Surface, can't remember anything about it. It seems that not filling in the backstories for your characters has consequences.

Throughout his fight against Ink and Error, Fresh employs psychological warfare against them and exploits their weaknesses (the vials for Ink and haphephobia for Error). Additionally, Fresh's true form, the parasite, finally reveals itself before joining Ink to become Fresh!Ink.

* Error's [[AmbiguousSituation dream]] in Xtra Scene 2. It starts out humorously enough with Error's downtime watching "Undernovela" suddenly getting interrupted by Ink. However, the whole sequence has an UncannyValley - like feel to it, with Ink acting uncharacteristically passive-aggressive almost the whole way through and the rest of the heroes only showing up once in the background, giving creepy smiles. Ink then abruptly drags Error into an empty black void, where he is confronted by [=XGaster=], telling him he'd better wake up, since "their game" is getting more interesting. The dream ends with a JumpScare as Ink suddenly appears in front of the screen, pulling a NightmareFace and assuring Error that "it" will be fun.

* X-Gaster's gradual decent into madness. [[spoiler: With each timeline his actions become more cruel and sociopathic. He also seems to care less and less about X-event Chara and X-event Frisk, calling them "ungrateful brats" and even straight-up brainwashing Frisk in timeline IV in order to start a Genocide Run.]]
* Ink's [[spoiler: true nature. Behind the happy-go-lucky {{Cloudcuckoolander}} facade, he's actually a merciless sociopath. You get snippets and hints of this throughout the whole series but 0.4 is where you really see him for what he is. He cares nothing for other people's lives and worlds and all of his actions have been motivated primarily by his desire to feel, instead of a genuine devotion to his job as the guardian of the Multiverse.]]
** [[spoiler: This is hammered home again with X-Tale 0. It starts with Ink greeting someone (presumably the viewer) in his characteristically up-beat persona and calling the previously unfolding events of 0.4 "awesome". 0.4 featured death, betrayal and heart-break all around, including two members of Ink's own team ''dying to [=XGaster=]'' after he betrayed them. Yet here he is, smiling and joking like nothing's wrong.]]
