* "Conquerors of the Future" has the alien planet Santar completely destroyed by solar flares emitted from its dual Suns. The Superfriends offer to help the planet, but the LegionOfDoom in a ploy to trick them into thinking they’ve had a HeelFaceTurn lie about going there to help, unawares this was a distraction so they could invade 40th century Earth. By the time Hawkman, Wonder Woman and Black Vulcan arrive, the planet is a melted wasteland; their contact Linkan, and all of the Santarians are dead…granted the sheer audacity of them actually believing the Legion would change after a few isolated incidents just makes the Superfriends themselves seem braindead; consider the Legion are basically responsible for that planet's genocide.

* "Superfriends: Rest in Peace" begins with [[TonightSomeoneDies Batman's funeral]]. Flashbacks show the Legion tricked Superman into helping them excavate the rare mineral Noxium that can kill any of the Superfriends, even Superman. When Superman realizes what they have, he ''immediately'' flees, and the rest of the Justice League go into hiding while another flashback shows the Riddler using the Noxium on Batman and instantly killing him. This is horrible enough if you're a kid, but the episode ramps up the scariness by having the Legion lure the others out of hiding by attacking their loved ones. The end result is ''every other Super Friend'' dying on camera, and the revelation that they turned out to be robots only alleviates it slightly.

* "Terror From the Phantom Zone" had three evil Kryptonians incapacitate Superman with Red Kryptonite. Now that the only person strong enough to fight them is out of the way, they proceed to cause disasters like earthquakes and floods for fun.

* "Wanted: The Superfriends" has Lex Luthor use a dream machine to hypnotize several Superfriends into committing crimes. When they turn themselves in voluntarily, it's revealed Bizarro and Cheetah were the prison guards and they set the prison on a one-way course to the Sun--and this was just step one of Lex's plan, as he turns every civilian on Earth into evil duplicates of Bizarro and Cheetah, including Alfred, who nearly kills Batman and Robin by sending the Batmobile off a cliff.

When the Superfriends turn the tables, Lex gloats that the machine will ''not'' work on the Legion and [[KarmaHoudini they successfully escape justice]].

Maybe it's just me but this episode scared me as a kid, especially cause I only saw the evil Alfred part but not how they got out of it.

* ''History of Doom'' in which Luthor and the League inadvertently killed the Earth when the former tries use some solar flares to fired at the latter and the League's shield which tried to block it, ended up merging with it and making a radioactive belt around the Earth. Granted the visiting head alien's reset button prevents this but still...just wow.

* The twist in "The Krypton Syndrome" where after Superman prevents Krypton from being destroyed, he returns to Earth to find it a burning ruin. Robin doesn't recognize him and says that he's the only surviving member of the Super Friends (this was the only episode where Robin appeared without Batman). A world without Superman...
