And immediately after a milder version of this happens, with a furious Shigaraki who doesn't even see Mt. Lady's foot coming, ending up punted out of the UA campus.]]

* TakeThat: Chapter 34 has the 1-A girls criticizing the costume choices made by the support companies. Ochako isn't happy that her preferences were ignored and was given a [[SensualSpandex skin-tight bodysuit]] with [[CombatStilettos heels]] instead, Momo isn't comfortable with [[ReluctantFanserviceGirl her costume being so revealing]], Jiro notes how her's [[CheapCostume looks like everyday attire]], Pony's costume came with a saddle which [[EverythingIsRacist she considers to be offensive]] and Hagakure admitting that her company gave up on her and [[InvisibleStreaker allowed her to be naked]] leaves All Might completely dumbfounded. It's eventually revealed that while most cases were honest mistakes by the companies, Momo and Ochako's designers are {{jerkass}}es who wanted to impose their designs ([[spoiler:and the former possesses illegal material from the Dark Web, causing Nedzu to send the police to him)]].

* CatGirl: The Mochizuki sisters, although only Aya looks like the usual stereotype.

* PolarOppositeTwins: Nana and Aya Mochizuki, not just in their personalities but even in the looks. They both have a Cat Quirk but Nana is so heavily mutated, many wonder if she isn't rather a cat with an intelligence Quirk, while Aya is a classic CatGirl who looks human beside the tail and ears.

** A woman appearing in the ''Rehabilitation'' spin-off exists only in a couple flashback narrations in canon. She's given the name Ume Ruta and [[spoiler:she's Eri's mother.]]

* AdaptationExpansion:
** In the first episode of the anime a silver-haired girl could be spotted in Izuku's middle school classroom, looking like she didn't share the derisory attitude most other classmates had towards him. The fic gives her a name, Amura Yatsuboshi, and tells she was in fact friendly but also too afraid of ending up bullied like Izuku if she ever got close to him. Her testimony about Aldera School's practices proves important in the investigation against them. [[spoiler:She's later admitted into UA's General Studies and becomes a classmate of Aoi.]]

** The quirk of the Horimoto twins can sound funny but it literally forces Hina to never say the truth, to the point she's often ended in a police station because she admitted to crimes she never committed.

* HiddenDepths: [[spoiler:There's more to Nejire beneath her bubbly personality. She was in a bad head space before she attended UA but Hound Dog was a huge help in dealing with those issues.]]

* IKnowWhatYouFear: Another reason why AlphaBitch Hirikone is untouchable is that her Quirk: '''Terror''', allows her to create a hallucinogenic gas that can conjure the greatest fears of anyone who breathes it in.

* RefusalOfTheCall: When Aoi is offered One For All, she rejects the offer on the spot. She doesn't want to be a hero, and the idea of receiving a Quirk scares her after [[spoiler:seeing the result of All For One giving one to Ai.]]

* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: [[spoiler:In an AlternateUniverse Ronri killed the HPSC, the heroes and Class 1-A because they all turned their backs on Izuku (see DrivenToSuicide entry).]]

** The only reason Hirikone gets away with her abusive behavior and bullying is because she has family members on the school board that can excuse her heinous actions.

* ShipperOnDeck: [[spoiler:Ai wants Aoi to come up clean with Izuku and Ochako; despite the animosity due to her time as Hirikone, she even manages to enlist Hanako to help. Their plan eventually succeeds, although they are punished for filming as the love confessions happened.]]

* MonsterFangirl: [[spoiler:Hanako Yumara, one of Izuku's classmates, who has a Spider Quirk]], loves Stain for killing the Hero who murdered her father just because his Quirk made him look villainous.

* TooManyMouths: Sensei Futakuchi has an extra large mouth in the back of her head. Befitting as her name and Quirk are based on [[{{Main/Youkai}} the Futakuchi-onna]] of Japanese folklore.

* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:Ronri]] can be seen as this given how she confesses to have [[spoiler:murdered every Pro Hero, Class 1-A student and Hero Commission member for contributing to Izuku's suicide in an alternate universe. She even boasts that she'll take on any role or perform whatever deed if it's for Izuku's benefit]].

* AbusiveParents:
** Aoi's father is one as he constantly insults her, beats her for petty offenses and guilt trips her for existing just because she's Quirkless.
** Ai's parents are even worse. Not only do they hate that she's Quirkless, they also hate that she has basic human decency. Ai's mother would even use her [[ColdBloodedTorture Torture]] Quirk to discipline her daughter. [[spoiler:It leads them to going to All for One to force a Quirk on her and have him implant an artificial personality in her to turn her into their desired child.]]
** Endeavor continues to be this towards Shouto. This is highlighted after [[spoiler:All Might declares Izuku as his new successor which leads the Flaming Garbage Hero to double down on Shouto's TrainingFromHell]].

* AlphaBitch:
** {{Invoked|Trope}}. Ai Hirikone's rich parents place her at a middle-income school ''specifically'' to lord their status over everybody else there.
** Mira Akotone in Hanako's origin story, a girl with a good quirk and heroic aspirations despite her rotten personality. [[spoiler:Their school being another under the MLA's control played a huge part in making Mira so horrible.]]

* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:Ai was very much conscious the ''entire'' time she was not in control of her own body, and had no means to ask for help when the artificial personality controlling her body drove any good person away.]]

* BadPowersBadPeople: Hirikone's quirk is called Terror, her mother's Torture. They use them as badly as you can expect from [[AlphaBitch people]] [[RichBitch like]] [[HateSink them]].

* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** Aoi Haji holds a surprising strength in her punches for being Quirkless. It is likely all the past abuse she suffered never made her realize it. For that reason she's displayed it only [[spoiler:when Eri was about to be abducted, and due to a quirk who forced her to punch the unfortunate holder]].
** A much darker example with [[spoiler:Hanako Yumara. The [[CuteMonsterGirl spider-mutant with a bubbly personality]] hides a very troubled past and a dark side; she can kill people and also dispose of their bodies easily, when she decides to use the abilities given by her Quirk fully.]]
** In an emergency situation, even [[spoiler:Chtylla Ryuu]] proves to be this. [[spoiler:Her Deep One quirk allows her to extend several tentacles that make short work of a group of the villains invading UA, and then she gives a large gator-like villain a run for her money, ultimately defeating her]].

* BloodSplatteredInnocents: Happens to [[spoiler:Hanako Yumara]] twice in a Side Story. [[spoiler:The first time is when her father was killed in front of her eyes by a Hero, his blood splattering on her. The second time is a subversion as an older Hanako snapped and killed her bully, dismembering her in a shower of blood.]]

* CommonalityConnection: Izuku forms a sympathetic connection with Aoi Haji as he knows what it's like to grow up Quirkless while being unfairly bullied and terrorized by kids with Quirkist mentalities. [[spoiler:He ends up developing romantic feelings towards Aoi [[{{Polyamory}} even if the ones he already has for Ochako stay intact]].]]

* CuteMonsterGirl: Hanako Yumara, a classmate of Izuku and Ochako, who's got several spider characteristics as an effect of her mutation Quirk.

* DarkAndTroubledPast:
** Both Aoi and Ai got it in spades: [[spoiler:most of their sufferings are due to abusive parents who hated Quirkless people (with the exception of Aoi's mother, who sadly died young)]]. Thankfully the changes Izuku brought to the timeline have saved them from their original fates, [[spoiler:which would have been suicide for both.]]
** [[spoiler:Hanako Yumara]], although detailed more within the spin-offs. [[spoiler:Behind her bubbly personality there's a victim of racism against mutants that also claimed his father's life, by the hand of a Hero no less, with also some homophobia thrown in; she's been a fan of Stain since the latter killed her father's killer, and the bullying got so bad she snapped and killed her bullies.]] It's still unknown whether the changes in the timeline have prevented [[spoiler:Hanako]]'s original fate yet.

** [[spoiler:Aoi decides to take her bully's advice and take a swan dive off of the school roof. Thankfully Izuku shows up to save her. She wasn't so lucky in the original timeline.]]

** [[spoiler:In the original timeline, Ochako came across Ai. The girl had finally managed to free herself but due to Aoi's suicide because of the alternate personality forced upon her, she was succumbing to desperation and about to kill herself... and succeeded.]]

** Mira Akotone is one of early Bakugo, if not worse than he ever was. She even went with a SuicideDare herself. [[spoiler:It ended ''very'' badly for her.]]

* ForcedToWatch: [[spoiler:Ai was fully aware of what her body was doing to Aoi under the influence of the Quirk that All For One forced upon her, and didn't even have the ability to look away.]]

* ForgivenButNotForgotten: [[spoiler:While Ochako is willing to forgive Ai for her dark past as Hirikone, she intends to keep her at arms' length until she gets a better understanding of her character. She also states that the kids at their school will most likely not forgive Ai because of her tyranny when she was Hirikone.]]

* FromNobodyToNightmare: The ending of Chapter 9 reveals that [[spoiler:Hirikone was once a Quirkless girl named Ai who was also Aoi Haji's best friend. But Ai's parents went to All for One to turn her into a sadistic mean girl with a fear inducing quirk who ruled her school with an iron fist]].

* ArmorPiercingQuestion: During his review of Bakugou's Entrance Exam score and how he was only interested in Villain Points, Nedzu openly asks him if he would willingly turn down rescue assignments if there were no villains for him to pummel. This leaves the bombastic blonde speechless.

* Mt. Lady [[spoiler:almost casually kicking Shigaraki out of the UA campus, just as he's attacking an exhausted Izuku.]]

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: In Chapter 6 of the Side Stories, [[spoiler:Endeavor ended up meeting Ronri much earlier and learned of her origins and motivations. Alas, the chapter ends with his memory being erased]].

* LoveEpiphany: [[spoiler:Eri asking Ochako and Aoi if they'll both marry Izuku cause Aoi to realize she loves them both.]]

* AdaptationalIntelligence: In canon, All Might and the UA teachers could sometimes come off as neglectful and incapable about students with clear behavioral issues like Bakugo and Mineta. Here however they are shown to be quite sensitive and competent on the issue, with little to no tolerance for those behaviors [[spoiler:and people who enable them for their own gain, like the schools affiliated with Detnerat/MLA.]] That alone brings several changes to the original events.
* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: Discussed InUniverse in Chapter 6 of the Side Stories. [[spoiler:Ronri explains to Endeavor that a person's personality can vary due to the infinite number of universes out there and how each one would change them to act a certain way. She uses [[BigGood All Might]] as an example, citing that he could be a [[GoodIsDumb "well meaning idiot"]] in one universe and a [[PoliticallyIncorrectHero "Quirkest asshole"]] in another]].
* AdaptationalVillainy:
** Aldera was bad enough for encouraging illegal Quirk usage and terrorizing weak students. But in this story, [[spoiler:they're revealed to be affiliated with the Detnerat Company which is a cover for the Meta Liberation Army]].
** The Meta Liberation Army is even worse than in canon. [[spoiler:Beside the thing with schools like Aldera, which negatively affected students by making them cruel bullies (like Bakugo) or victims (Izuku, Hanako), their doctrine outright hates Quirkless people, and they don't like people with heavy physical mutations either, they just consider them useful soldiers to indoctrinate by taking advantage of the same misery they cause to them. It's eventually revealed that the original ideals of Destro had nothing like that, and the current edition of his book has been subjected to heavy modifications.]]
** If Sir Nighteye's vision is of any indication, [[spoiler:Bakugou will become a full on villain if he doesn't get the help he needs]].

* AlternateTimeline / AlternateUniverse: The two concepts are treated interchangeably by the story. [[spoiler:Ronri tells of "timelines" where she traveled that were so different from both canon and the one of this story, we could rather talk about "universes".]]

* TheChessmaster: All For One keeps being one even in the face of Izuku's knowledge. [[spoiler:He deduces Izuku has traveled back in time fairly quickly, and spends several months lying low to rethink and reorganize his plans in a way Izuku can't thwart them before they happen.]]

* CreepyChild: A mysterious little girl showing up in Side Stories and shortly after in the main, [[spoiler:Ronri: she can travel between timelines, knows a lot about Hanako and Izuku, has got the same holes in the hands as All For One, and seems to possess several quirks, like Erasure and an ability to escape Ragdoll's Search.]] She may [[OlderThanTheyLook not even]] [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld be a child]] to begin with.

* DarkerAndEdgier: While it manages to keep a tone similar to the original series a lot of times, it tackles themes like domestic abuse, bullying and social discrimination, and the ways they can affect people, much more than in canon. Sad and/or tragic backstories, both for canon characters and original ones, abound, and despite the optimistic premise the changes Izuku has caused to history are pushing some characters to darker paths. A few scenes are quite graphic.

* FantasticRacism:
** Aldera and other MLA-operated schools are known to do this by describing students with mutant Quirks or no Quirks as delinquents who cause problems for everyone while portraying students with powerful or admirable Quirks as genuine honor students.
** More in general, the emphasis on Quirk-based discrimination is much higher than in canon. A lot of characters' issues are caused by people and environments where Quirkless and mutants are treated as inferior.

* HandicappedBadass: Izuku is still able to use One For All and the additional Quirks that come with it, however his body is back to its original, scrawny form meaning that he can't use his powers without obtaining serious injuries like in the beginning. [[spoiler:It gets worse when One For All ends up absorbing Nejire's Quirk, getting a significant power boost which will be harder for Izuku to keep under control]].

* InSpiteOfANail: [[InSpiteOfANail/NewGamePlus2022 has its own page.]]

* TheMultiverse: While hints of it were already present in the very idea of the new timeline created by Izuku traveling back while a few Side Stories showed events in the original one, the wider concept is introduced in the story through [[spoiler:Ronri, a multiversal traveler]]. The author has plans for more stories set in other timelines, using ''New Game Plus'' as a foundation.

* OmniscientHero: Nedzu can come across as this, especially in the first chapter when he seemingly knows that All Might is calling about Aldera Middle School despite All Might learning about it from Izuku less than a minute prior.
* OnTheNext: The ending notes of each chapter features dialogue from a character or two that sets up for the next chapter.

* OriginalCharacter:
** Aoi Haji, a blue haired Quirkless girl with a tragic upbringing.
** Ai Hirikone, a white haired AlphaBitch who mercilessly terrorizes Aoi for her lack of a Quirk. [[spoiler:Later revealed to be Ai Uzumaru, Aoi's childhood friend and a formerly Quirkless girl, whose parents went to All For One to have him forcefully turn her into their ideal girl.]]

** Just before the story moves to UA, a mysterious newcomer enters the scene: [[spoiler:Ronri, a girl who has apparently traveled between several timelines and has vast knowledge of some people thanks to that.]]
* PeggySue: Izuku ends up being sent back in time to the day of the Sludge Villain incident when Eri's Quirk goes haywire. [[spoiler:It turns out Eri was also sent back in time]]. While his allies take advantage of his future knowledge to do a lot of good, Izuku's incomplete knowledge of certain events and individuals also causes problems.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Even if the character hasn't likely shown the full potential yet, [[spoiler:Ronri. This little girl has got All For One (the Quirk) and some Quirks even the original AFO (the man) doesn't possess, like Erasure and traveling between timelines. And she single-handedly offed most of the cast in another timeline.]]
