* Samus in her ''VideoGame/MetroidDread'' suit is the bounty hunter herself in her ''Metroid Fusion'' color palette taking place in the Frigate Orpheon. Accompanied her is the Metroid assist trophy, representing the baby Metroid.

* Axel is fellow fire user Roy in a Stamina battle. Since Axel is the fire specialist in Organization XIII, Roy has increased fire and explosion damage. The battle takes place in Kalos Pokémon League as a stand in for Castle Oblivion.

* Haru Okumura is represented by the pink female Villager, which matches her color scheme and peaceful personality, and also wields an axe for one attack, referencing Haru's choice of weapon. Her Persona Milady takes a page out of Ann's battle by having a Daisy with a Super Scope as her stand-in, with the Super Scope a reference to the ''absurd'' amount of weaponry hidden under Milady's dress. Vegetables are a theme through the match as seen with Villager and Daisy's attacks and the random waves of food (all salad) that spawn on stage - the Tomadachi Life rooftop, referencing Haru's role as caretaker of the school garden and her Confidant's ability to provide the party with SP-restoring vegetables.

* The two Ace spirits on Sora's Spirit Board are Riku and Aqua, both of which became Keyblade Masters after passing the Mark of Mastery exam. In other words, they're {{The Ace}}s of their respective groups.

* Sakuna is a female Villager who holds a Death's Scythe and has increased attack with rice balls appearing periodically. Scythes can be used for harvesting rice and Akuna is the goddess of harvesting and the increase attack is because rice is the source of her powers.

* The Freezie is represented by the Ice Climbers, who start the battle with a Freeze in hand and also have an ice-based special attack that resembles the Freezie.

* Hawkeye & Riesz is Shiek and a Mii Swordfighter dressed in Peach's Hair fought on Great Bay. Sheik fits Hawkeye's Dark class paths, which turn him into a Ninja. The Mii Swordfighter prefers special moves; specifically a lunging attack meant to look similar to Riesz's lance thrusts. The stage is often shaken by an earthquake; this is likely meant to reference the volcanic Beuca Island. The heroes end up on the island shortly before the volcano erupts and try to find a way off the island, which shakes violently as the eruption grows closer. They do so when they find a friendly giant turtle creature (Vuscav) who can carry them across the ocean (similar to the giant turtle on the Great Bay stage).

* I-Tetrimino (otherwise known as Line Piece) is represented by a trio of Corrins, as Corrin's Dragon Lunge produces a spear as long and thin as the I-Tetrimino itself. One of the Corrins will spawn with a Pokeball containing Attack Forme Deoxys, whose tendrils and Hyper Beam attack are all long, thin lines. The TV Color-Game 15 assist trophy regularly appears, two elongated vertical rectangles batting a square around. The battle is on 75m Omega, the platform being made of three horizontal elongated rectangles. Notably, the I-Tetrimino has the most power of all the Tetrimino spirits, as it's the only way to clear four lines at once, it's the only way to make a Tetris.

* Joan is a blue Peach who favors her down special (pulling up vegetables from the ground, as Joan is a turnip trader), and is accompanied by a dark-skinned female Villager ally who uses her up and down aerials (both of which utilize the turnips she sells). The "stats up after eating" ability Joan provides is a refernce to how eating Joan's turnips (or any other edible item for that matter) increases the player's stamina.

* Flick is a red Yoshi who is easily distracted by items. The only items that appear during his fight are the Bee Nest and the Beetle, which makes Flick's attraction to items a clear reference to his love of bugs. He also has increased attack and speed after a while, possibly referencing the fact that he goes crazy with joy if you sell an insect to him. Equipping his spirit also increases the power of your throws, as if Flick had swang his net in order to catch a bug.

* Anna is represented by a red Lucina who attracts items to her, since Anna is a merchant and all. As her first playable appearance in ''Awakening'' made her part of the sword-wielding Trickster class, only the Beam Sword and Killing Edge appear as items here. Anna also runs a shop that especializes in equipment, alluding to her role as a merchant in most ''Fire Emblem'' games.

* Marin is represented by Zelda with a sleep-inducing floor, the former being a nod to Marin's uncanny resemblance to Zelda and the latter representing how the world she is in is just a dream. She is also assisted by Link, which is fitting given that Link and Marin develop a strong bond throught his adventure on Koholint Island. It is also a timed battle to represent how [[DreamApocalypse her home will eventually disappear once the Wind Fish wakes up]].

* Daruk is a yellow Donkey Kong who is wielding an Ore Club, representing his Boulder Breaker. In Adventure, he's found in a volcanic area, referencing his home of Death Mountain. Aditionally, his shield has increased durability, which references his ability to generate a shield to protect himself.

* Louie can be summoned with the cores of both Snorlax (due to Louie’s laid-back attitude and large appitite) and Postman (since he works for a delivery company). You also need a Grab Type core, likely referencing how Pikmin must be grabbed and thrown to attack enemies.

* Pidgey is a tiny Pit who jumps a lot. Duing the battle, heavy wind shows up since Pidgey and it's evolved forms are known for wind based attacks such as Gust and Hurricane.

* Arceus is Corrin, whose dragon form resembles Arceus. Pokeballs will also only spawn Arceus, and strong wind will trigger on occasion, attempting to blow you off the stage where Arceus' attack can spike you into the abyss. And the fight is at Spear Pillar, which is right below Arceus' domain, the Hall of Origin. The actual spirit itself has both its stats being 2006 at Level 1; ''VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl'' came out in 2006. Arceus' stats being equal across the board is also referencing that Arceus has equal stats in Pokémon, [[MasterOfAll with each of its stats being 120]].

* Cresselia is a giant Pink Yoshi, having a vaguely similar body shape, and is fought on Spear Pillar ([[OverlyLongGag yet again]]) with Cresselia as a stage hazard. Yoshi will also gain increased defences over time, referencing Cresselia's status as a StoneWall.

* Alolan Vulpix also has you fight Fox like its Kantoian counterpart only with the Fox being gray, the battle taking place on a Battlefield Summit to represent the habitat of Alolan Vulpix including a fog effect, and the Poké Ball Fox holding has an Alolan Vulpix inside instead.

* The Freezie is represented by the Ice Climbers, who start the battle with a Freezie in hand and also have an ice-based special attack that resembles the Freezie.

* The Shadow Queen is a summon-exclusive spirit taking the form she uses while possessing Peach. She is summoned using the cores of Vivian and Gengar — Vivian because the Shadow Queen is the KingMook to the Shadow Sirens, and Gengar because it's the "shadow pokemon" and she's [[CastingAShadow shadow-based]]. As to why she appears already possessing Peach instead of her true form? She's already a spirit in her home game, and she possesses Peach upon coming in. Finally, she's an Ace-class instead of a Legend since her powers weren't yet fully restored by the time she was summoned, and she was defeated before she could reach her full power. As to why she's summon-exclusive? Grodus summoned her from her slumber prior to her possessing anyone.

* Professor Riggs, Plaise, and Lerna are represented by a yellow Dr.Mario, a small red Young Link, and a blue Bayonetta respectively. Fitting as Riggs is a hard worker that loves solving problems, Plaise is an energetic kid, and Lerna is both the tallest and the most book smart out of the three. They also get stronger over time, referring to their dedication to modifying and improving their toy-cons.

* [[VideoGame/MarioGolf Golf Mario]] is Mario wearing the red, white, and blue American color scheme he wore in the NES game ''Golf'' wielding an Ore Club which can blow gusts of wind. Balls are only spawned during the match and he can gain temporary invincibility.
* [[VideoGame/MarioGolf Golf Luigi]] is a team of Luigis who are faster as ''Mario Golf: Super Rush'' has you race to the next hole and are holding Fire Bars with once again, ball items are the only items that spawn.

* Of course, a Yoshimitsu battle wouldn't be without the opponent (a Mii Brawler wearing a Cyber helmet and a ninja outfit and wielding a Killing Edge) doing something silly such as taunting a lot in a stamina battle. During battle, both opponents will take significant damage and the one with the most health afterwards will have their health recovered, since in ''Tekken'', Yoshimitsu has a few high risk attacks that can take away significant health in exchange of causing even more damage to the opponent if connected.

* Fi is a battle against Link in Skyworld using the Wild Tunic, likely meaning to be the Link from said game in an advanced state of his adventure. Fi can also be summoned with Serena (a fountain goddess) and Aegislash (a ghost sword Pokémon)

* Though there's nothing especially special about Sophia's spirit as an equip, the method of acquiring her is quite fitting to her character. In ''Strikers'', she is an advanced AI program that becomes data and enters Joker's phone when she exits the Metaverse. Here, when you exit your Switch copy of ''Persona 5 Strikers'', she'll transfer her Spirit into Smash through the Save Data. Her Spirit Battle has her represented by a white Ness who spams his Up and Down Smash attacks, since her WeaponOfChoice is a pair of giant yo-yos. Standing in for her [[AttackDrones “Persona”]], Pithos, is a gang of R.O.Bs who constantly fire their laser beams. If Joker has already been purchased, the stage is Mementos with “Last Surprise” as the theme music, befitting a character from a spin-off of ‘’Persona 5’’. Otherwise, the stage is New Pork City, which stands in for the similarly pink, purple, and gaudy city-based Shibuya Jail where she is recruited. The theme music is also instead “Light Plane (Vocal Mix)”, which has a surprisingly serene tone to it, akin to Sophia’s own {{Leitmotif}}, “The AI and The Heart”.

* Asuka Kazama is a Wii Fit Trainer who shields a lot. In her home series, she is one of the most defensive fighters in the game. The stage is Prism Tower, which could be [[CrossesTheLineTwice a dark nod]] towards the same skyscraper Kazuya threw her off of in the ''CR Tekken'' pachinko game.

* Arthur is a primary spirit that boosts Item Throw, referencing how he (almost) always throws his weapons in his home series. For his battle, it starts with a Mii in his costume (if it was purchased) being fought in Spear Pillar's Omega form. He'll often use a projectile, throwing items often spawn on the stage, and he is eventually joined by a red Ridley playing a Red Arremer.

* Of course, a Yoshimitsu battle wouldn't be without the opponent (a Mii Brawler wearing a Cyber helmet and a ninja outfit and wielding a Killing Edge) taunting a lot in a stamina battle. * Ling Xiaoyu is a Mii Brawler wearing Ashley's wig and a gi outfit in a stamina battle at the theme park themed New Pork City, a dream Xiaoyu wish to have. A Mii Brawler in a cat hood and white bear outfit appears after a little while, representing Panda.
* Kuma and Panda has you start fighting a Mii Gunner wearing the same thing above as Panda and shortly after, Kuma appears as a Mii Brawler wearing a bear hood and a cat outfit holding a Pokéball with Goldeen. Eventually, they gain uncontrollable speed.

* The mass produced Jack-7 is a team of Donkey Kongs who have super armor but is slow who favor their neutral special in a stamina battle, fitting for one of the most well known MightyGlacier of the series.
* Jin Kazama has you fight against his father Kazuya in a stamina battle. The first time he is defeated, he returns in full health and focus more on his devil moves as a stand in for Devil Jin, who he can enhanced into.

* King and Armor King are two Incineroars, a fellow feline themed wrestler in a stamina battle which fittingly takes place in the Boxing Ring. Their attaks will increase after a little while.

* Midna is a green-clad Bayonetta, which fits them both being sarcastic dark-magic wielders with PrehensileHair, fought on the Bridge of Eldin to reference one of the more iconic areas of her game. Midna herself also appears as an Assist Trophy. She's also an enhanceable Spirit that becomes her riding Wolf Link, which improves your dash attack.
* Ganondorf is, well, [[ShapedLikeItself Ganondorf himself]]. The fight is a stamina battle to represent the no-holds-barred sword duel at the end of ''Twilight Princess'', and he gets increased attack power at half health to represent his "second phase". This version of Ganondorf is enhanceable, and he becomes the version of Dark Beast Ganon from the same game. Beast Ganon confers Impact Run, which references said incarnation's penchant for charging around in his fight.

* Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law are fellow red gi blond fighter Ken as Paul and Fox as Law due to Fox's kicks in a stamina battle. The battle takes place in New Donk City as a stand in for New York since both characters are Americans, albeit Law as a naturalized immigrant.

* Heihachi Mishima is a stamina battle against a Mii Brawler who either wears a Dragon Helmet and a gi or, if you download his costume, Heihachi's own outfit. While he doesn't have any special abilities aside from gaining a Final Smash when at low health, the CPU does advanced moves that can been seen during tournament players, fitting for his status as a BadassNormal.

What's more, in Adventure, she is the spirit that guards the captured Corrin.

* Leo is represented as Robin who regenerates health, has a Black Hole item, and a high gravity hazard effect, which references his [[GravityMaster Brynhildr tome]] and affinity for darkness.
