The Calling is a Pop Rock band from Los Angeles, California. They formed in 2000 and released two albums, before entering on indefinite hiatus since 2005. Frontman Alex Band (son of [[Creator/FullMoonFeatures Charles Band]]) reformed the group with other musicians in 2013.

They have two albums:

* ''Camino Palmero'' (2001)
* ''[[ChronologicalAlbumTitle Two]]'' (2004)

!! Tropes that apply to The Calling

* BreakupSong: "Nothing's Changed" and "Could It Be Any Harder" sound like these, although the latter could also be about someone dying. "Things Will Go My Way" tries to solve the failing relationship too.
%%* IntercourseWithYou: "Surrender" and "Unstoppable"
* ManipulativeBitch: The girl in "Adrienne" seems like one of these.
%%* OneWomanSong: "Adrienne".
* SillyLoveSongs: A lot of their songs are either this or songs commenting on the nature of life and humanity. It works for them though.
* VideoFullOfFilmClips: "For You", where the performance is intercut with ''Film/{{Daredevil}}''.
* VocalDissonance: Alex Band, who was 20 when they released their first album, looks like a teenage boy but has a deep, semi-{{Yarling}} singing voice.
* {{Yarling}}: Alex's performance, which ''Series/MadTV'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCrTkr5dp3Q made sure to compare to the trope's stalwarts]].
