*** [[TheThrawnTrilogy His clone]] is, if anything, worse, since his Mind Trick apparently works by tearing apart the mind of the target and rearranging it to suit. He does this to a general, and it's... well, MindRape at its finest. He doesn't go as far with Captain Pellaeon, but the readers still [[TheIshmael see]] that while Pellaeon's ''mouth'' is agreeing, his thoughts are resisting in vain. The [[AllThereInTheManual Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook]] states that Pellaeon's willpower was permanently eroded by this.

*** Even strong-minded people can sometimes be affected, especially when dealing with [[TheDarkSide Dark Side]] users, since they're typically willing to risk damaging the mind of their victim. For example, in the ThrawnTrilogy, Captain Pellaeon (who's certainly not weak-minded) at one point knows that C'Baoth is trying to control him and fights it, but is unable to do so. It's notable as one of the few instances of the Jedi Mind Trick depicted from the victim's perspective, and at least the way C'Baoth does it the conscious mind is completely bypassed, controlling the victim on a subconscious level even as he realizes he's being controlled.
