* ''Anime/HealinGoodPrettyCure'':
** How the battle against King Byo-gen is presented in Episode 39. A lot of people felt like King Byo-gen barely got any character focus and was just bait for the other henchmen to take his place as the TrueFinalBoss. This ended up [[spoiler:getting averted considering King Byo-gen was alive the whole time, the "King Byo-gen" purified was actually just a part of him, and he quickly enters the stage as the proper BigBad of the show. His true final battle is far more climatic]].
** Compared to Daruizen and Guaiwaru, Shindoine's final battle felt a bit underwhelming, considering the fact that the former was able to overwhelm the Cures tremendously (with the help of the two generals) and Daruizen had a cool final form with Nodoka even calling him out. Shindoine gave the Cures a bit of trouble, but mostly felt like a minor roadblock to King Byo-gen. Even her defeat was identical to the [[MonsterOfTheWeek other Byo-gens]].

* ''Anime/MahoGirlsPrettyCure'': For something that was built up as the main villain for the latter part of the series and the embodiment of endless chaos, Deusmast hardly puts up a fight and goes down in less than half an episode.

* ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'': Desparaiah. Kawarino poses a lot more threat and stake than her, really. She attempts to break just Cure Dream, and when that backfires, she started freaking out and one befriending by Nozomi later, she pulls a HeelFaceTurn. And that's just ''half'' the final episode.

* ''Film/Opera1987'': Santini. He manages to kill Marco, basically the last person between him and Betty, and before he kills her too, he's duped by Betty long enough for her to stun him with a rock before he's arrested by a swarm of cops.

* ''Series/{{Dexter}}'':
** Jordan Chase. A good amount of focus is put on his wealth, power, and tight security measures, but in the end, Chase abandons all that and confronts Dexter and Lumen by himself at an isolated location. And then Dexter easily gets the drop on him by pulling out a hidden knife.
** Isaak Sirko. [[spoiler:He spends much of Season 7 plotting to murder Dexter and being built up as possibly the most dangerous villain the show has ever had, only to eventually offer Dexter a truce and then get unceremoniously killed by [[TheStarscream George Novikov]] (and this happens ''three episodes'' before the season's finale)]]. Apparently, [[EnforcedTrope the writers were forced to do this]] because of Creator/RayStevenson's scheduling conflicts.
* ''Series/DexterNewBlood'': After killing Kurt's henchman, Kurt himself turns out to be fairly simple to take down. His final attempt to kill Dexter and Harrison results in an EpicFail when they turn out to not even be home, his lair is easily discovered, and he walks right into an ambush at his house. Then again, he did leave a rather crucial letter to Angela as a last parting gift.

* ''Anime/TropicalRougePrettyCure'': A lot of the battles near the end of the season are quickly settled to focus on something far more serious.
** The blue whale Yaraneeda is built up as ''the strongest Yaraneeda'' in both Episode 42's title and Butler. The only reason why it was able to get away with taking so much motivation was because Butler damaged Laura's aqua pot. The actual battle itself is very brief and lasts less than an entire minute before the Marine Beat Dynamic finisher sequence. The Zenzen Yaraneeda beforehand lasts a few seconds longer on-screen (excluding Summer's transformation and the group finisher).
** [[spoiler:Chongire's Yaraneeda form]] was built up as an intimidating threat, but the onscreen appearance of the actual fight is very brief and focuses more on Butler and the Witch of Delays. The Yaraneeda knocks Manatsu out of her Cure form and the Cures retreat [[spoiler:thanks to Elda]], but when [[spoiler:Chongire's Yaraneeda form]] returns, the Cures retreat outside of the mansion and they take care of it immediately with the Marine Beat Dynamic..
** The following battle against [[spoiler:the Witch of Delays]] is even a bit of an AntiClimaxBoss as well, although it makes sense, considering that the fight is [[spoiler:an IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight where the Cures constantly tell the Witch that she's not evil as she's built up to be - and her attacks aren't as strong as a typical BigBad would be.]] Due to this, she's [[spoiler:dealt with peacefully by Cure Oasis]], but it's also strong hint that [[spoiler:she's not the final opponent the Cures face - it's Butler]].

* ''Film/DeadMan'': Instead of having an epic showdown with William Blake, Cole Wilson arrives in the last few minutes and dies rather quietly, while Blake just watches from afar. Most likely a deliberate use of the trope, given the film's love of playing with Western conventions.
