An "adapted and retold" edition was released in 2003 by Jean-Marc Lofficier and Randy Lofficier, with a forword by Terrance Dicks. They updated some of the science, removed some plot holes and some racist language. Additionally, details were added to imply that Doctor Omega was the same as The Doctor from ''Series/DoctorWho''.

* DoctorWhomage: An odd case, as this book predates Doctor Who by almost six decades, and yet Doctor Omega has several similarities with The First Doctor, and the 2003 edition delibrately adds references to imply that Doctor Omega and The Doctor are one and the same. In any case, he is an eccentric scientist who takes human companions on adventures in space, so he fits the arcetype.
