* The endings of "The Night Before Christmas" and "Snowbody Loves Me" are essentially the same thing - Tom makes Jerry stay out in the cold, but [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone later has a change of heart]] and rescues him from freezing to death.

* After the [[NightmareFuel disturbingly]] [[TearJerker depressing]] events in ''Heavenly Puss'', it is to the relief of many watchers that it was AllJustADream and Tom hugs and kisses a bewildered Jerry (which is also funny at the same time).

* In the Creator/ChuckJones cartoon "The A-Tom-Inable Snowman," when Tom catches a cold and is shivering/sneezing like mad, (or at least, pretending to,) Jerry sits close by, looking ''incredibly'' worried about the guy. Jerry even begins to hand him a tissue when he weakly gestures towards the tissue box; (that is, until Tom quickly recovers and grabs Jerry, preparing to eat him...)

* ''WesternAnimation/BlueCatBlues'', [[TearJerker of all episodes]], actually has quite a few moments:

** In the end, a particularly macabre and somber example still occurs: when Jerry has his heart broken by HIS girlfriend, he goes with Tom to also let the train run him over and Tom, even if he's now depressed out of his mind, steps aside and leaves him a spot to sit on. Despite how depressing it all is, how much he's lost and how self-absorbed (or girlfriend-absorbed) he was through most of the episode, Tom had one final moment of kindness by allowing his old friend by his side when he was suffering the same way he was so they can [[TogetherInDeath end their suffering together]].

* The ending of "Little School Mouse" is both hilarious and heartwarming - all through the cartoon, Jerry has been acting as a teacher to Nibbles (complete with blackboard and pointer) teaching and testing him in the ways of cat-outwitting. Nibbles has managed to pull off most of the tests, though generally (and to Jerry's increasing frustration) through kindly asking Tom to comply. The final test is to tie a bell around the cat's neck, which Nibbles solves by gift-wrapping the bell and giving it to Tom as a present. Tom ''loves'' the present, puts it around his neck and is thrilled with Nibbles's kindness. The final scene has Nibbles as the teacher, now teaching a grumpy Jerry and a smiling, enthusiastic Tom that cats and mice should be friends.

* ''Neapolitan Mouse''. Aside from a quick chase in the beginning, there are no chases, no plots, no elaborate schemes, nothing like that. It's just Tom and Jerry befriending a little Italian mouse, who is a huge fan of their cartoons, and enjoying the sights, smells and delicacies Italy has to offer. Tupo may have only appeared in that one episode, but he is very memorable for a very big reason.

* ''Life With Tom'' is a ClipShow featuring previous Tom and Jerry cartoons written as the titular book. Tom is furious that the book has made him a laughingstock...but then Jerry revealed that he instructed the publishers of his novel to give half of his ''$50,000 royalties'' to Tom. When adjusted for inflation, that's ''$489,853.93'' in 2021.

* In ''Professor Tom'', Jerry befriends a young kitten named Topsy whom Tom was trying to instruct in the ways of cats catching mice. Jerry teaches Topsy that cat and mice like them should be friends instead of enemies and Topsy, almost from the start, shows lots of admiration towards Jerry's lessons (while he was bored with Tom's about cats and mice being enemies). Through the episode, Jerry and Topsy work together, help each other (of particular mention is the fact that Jerry [[PapaWolf saved Topsy from]] [[CorporalPunishment getting spanked by Tom]] and after they defeat him, the two walk away as friends, holding hands. Topsy even has the detail of dusting off Tom's teacher hat and giving it to Jerry as an admission of him as his new teacher.
* Jerry saving a frozen Tom in ''Buddies Thicker Than Water'' after Tom writes him a note to help him. Jerry brings him in the house, thaws him out and serves him a delicious meal. They spend some nice time together while drinking champagne. That is, until Tom's owner returns and as she was ready to throw him out again, he convinces her to remain by catching Jerry and throwing him outside.

* In "Jerry And The Lion", Jerry helps an escaped circus lion (who sounds quite a bit like Bert Lahr--no doubt a deliberate ShoutOut to Film/TheWizardOfOz since this is an MGM cartoon, after all) find his way to a ship bound to Africa. The poor lion had begged for help because he couldn't stand one more day of captivity in the circus. After an entire cartoon of evading Tom's efforts to catch the lion and land a reward for it, they end up at the docks where Jerry helps him sneak into the ship's lifeboat. The lion tearfully calls back, "Goodbye, pal...and thanks." As the ship sails into the distance, Jerry waves goodbye with his hankie...which he briefly uses to wipe away a few tears of his own, before smiling and waving again, sad to see his friend go, but glad to have helped him.
* "I'm Just Wild About Jerry": After all the times that Tom's been hit by a train twice and then chasing Jerry through the toy store before getting ejected back onto the train tracks, it appears that Tom's about to get hit by a third train... until Jerry switches the tracks to save his old foe. Because of his selfless act of bravery and kindness, Jerry gets an AngelicTransformation as he is sprouting wings and a halo before [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence flying off to the moonlight in the heavens above]]. Even Tom takes a look at his now-angelic rival upon his departure and waves goodbye to him as the episode ends on a sweet note.

** First, there's the general behavior of Tom and Jerry through the episode: Not only do they begin as friends (something odd in and of itself), but it's also, perhaps, the one episode where Jerry doesn't try to hurt Tom and Tom only hurts Jerry in a non-malicious, not-fully-intentional way, since he's either [[LackOfEmpathy too focused on his girlfriend, unattentive or drunk]].

** First, there's the general behavior of Tom and Jerry between each other: Not only do they begin as friends (something odd in and of itself), but it's also, perhaps, the one episode where Jerry doesn't try to hurt Tom and Tom only hurts Jerry in a non-malicious, not-fully-intentional way, since he's either [[LackOfEmpathy too focused on his girlfriend, unattentive or drunk]].
** At the very beginning of the flashback we see Tom and Jerry sharing a drink and, when Tom accidentally sucks Jerry in with his straw, he gets him out, cleans him up and, when Jerry seems annoyed, he apologetically holds him up so he can drink the rest of the lemonade. This may be one of the nicest moments he's ever had towards Jerry.
** Jerry's [[{{Determinator}} constant attempts at trying to bring Tom back to his senses]], even if unsuccessful, prove how much he cared about him. He tried to drag Tom away, stop him on his tracks [[AintTooProudToBeg and even begged him on his knees to come back]] even while Tom was DrowningHisSorrows because [[HeroicBSOD of his defeats at the hands of Butch]].

* In ''Professor Tom'', Jerry befriends a young kitten named Topsy. He teaches Topsy that cat and mice like them should be friends instead of enemies. They work, and after they defeat Tom, the two walk away as friends, holding hands.
