* In an odd way, Magnus' choice to knock Alec out serves as this. He knows that his boyfriend doesn't want to come out to his parents yet, and that he wouldn't be doing it unless he was under the influence of the Fearless Rune. So he risks an awkward situation (and potential arrest for attacking a Shadowhunter) by knocking Alec unconscious before he can say too much.
