*** One possibility, which would explain a lot of things in general, is that it's due to Pepper Ann's short attention span. She is constantly day dreaming and zoning out, so it might be that she just picked up on the word "support" and her one track mind ran with it. The teacher might have given a more proper explanation while PA simply wasn't listening.

** What the coach really meant by "Support" was someone spotting them. We see someone holding onto another person and standing on the trampoline. Wouldn't they get bounced around too?
