[[GreenEyedMonster Green-Eyed Monsters]] in ''Franchise/TheDCU''.
----

* ''ComicBook/{{Batman}}'': Thomas Elliot, a.k.a. Hush, dedicated himself to destroying Bruce Wayne out of sheer envy. The way he sees it, Bruce was "lucky" that his parents died when he was a kid (and getting all of their money) -- Thomas, on the other hand, had to go to all of the trouble of cutting his parents' car's brakelines and later smothering his horrible mother to get access to their money. Thomas, of course, being an amoral sociopath, doesn't grasp that Bruce's parents might be different from his parents, making this a rare case of someone consumed by insane jealousy not because of what someone else has done or accomplished, but literally for ''NO REASON AT ALL''.
* ''ComicBook/GreenLantern'': Guy Gardner hates Superman because his girlfriend Ice admitted that she thought Superman was cute. He still hates him to this day.
* In ''ComicBook/NightwingTheNewOrder'', is heavily implied that Kate Kane resents Dick taking the spotlight over her, even though Dick doesn't believe she'd be so petty.

* Envy of the SevenDeadlySins introduced in ''ComicBook/{{Shazam}}'' comics can turn anyone, hero or not, into a Green-Eyed Monster. Under its influence, ComicBook/GreenArrow once succumbed to his own envy of Batman over, well, everything, and ''tried to kill him''.

** ''ComicBook/TheSupergirlBatgirlPlot'': Subverted. Apparently, Supergirl and ComicBook/{{Batgirl}} have gotten sick of living in the shadow of Superman and Batman, for which they have decided to humiliate them and take them down. Then it is revealed that [[spoiler:Mr. Mxyzptlk and Batmite are playing a prank on everybody]].

** Veronica Cale is dangerously jealous of Wonder Woman. She thinks that an OmnidisciplinaryScientist billionaire magnate who worked her way up from rather humble origins like herself is more deserving of the title than a magical princess like Diana. If she wasn't also a MadScientist who kills innocent people and turns others into living weapons she might actually have a point.
** Some stories depict Barbara Minerva as being jealous of Diana for being blessed with super powers by her own deities while Minerva herself is cursed by a god.

* ''Franchise/{{Superman}}'':
** Why does ComicBook/LexLuthor hate Superman? Because Superman is more powerful than Lex, and he won the hearts of Metropolis without any effort at all. It's pretty much ''the'' reason that he opposes Superman, and is in '''deep''' denial about it. Confirmed in ''ComicBook/BlackestNight'', wherein Lex is bound by Franchise/WonderWoman's Lasso of Truth and is forced to admit to himself and everyone around him that: "The truth is... I really want to be Superman." It also probably isn't a coincidence that modern portrayals of Lex in the comics often have green eyes.
** ''ComicBook/AllStarSuperman'': As always, Lex Luthor, and he makes it clear that it's his motivation for killing Superman.
--->'''Luthor:''' Three months ago, I looked in the mirror at those nasty little spiderwebs of lines around my eyes, and I realized something. I'm getting older and he isn't. So, if I want to die happy, it's time to get serious about killing Superman, don't you think?
** In ''ComicBook/KryptonNoMore'', co-worker Terri Cross flirts with Clark Kent. And Comicbook/LoisLane is ''not'' happy about it. She isn't happy ''at all''. She is actually ''fuming''.
** ComicBook/{{Supergirl}}'s first ArchEnemy was Lesla-Lar, an accomplished Kandorian scientist introduced in ''ComicBook/TheUnknownSupergirl'', who began antagonizing Kara because she was jealous of the praise that people of Earth gave Supergirl.
--->'''Lesla-Lar:''' I envy and hate her! The honors that I, Lesla-Lar, have earned in Kandor as a scientific genius are as nothing compared to the acclaim the people of Earth will give Supergirl when they learn of her existence!
** In ''Comicbook/DemonSpawn'', 'Nasty' Luthor glares and fumes when Linda and Geoff kiss.
** In Supergirl ''[[ComicBook/Supergirl1972 Vol 1]]'' #7, Supergirl and Comicbook/{{Zatanna}} spend a while seeking out a man called Tony -whom they have a crush on- and struggling to save him. As soon as both women learn that he has a fiancée, they refuse to speak to him.
** In ''[[ComicBook/Supergirl1982 Supergirl Vol 2 #20]]'', Linda's friend Joan is jealous of Linda when she finds out that her friend is meeting Clark Kent, nationally famous newscaster. Her jealousy goes away when Linda explains Clark is her cousin.
** ''ComicBook/SupergirlCosmicAdventuresInThe8thGrade'': Lena goes ballistic every time Linda ever hints they could make more friends. Ironically, Lena believes Belinda is jealous from their friendship.
--->'''Linda:''' Well, we could try to make some friends. I mean, we always sit as far away from everyone as possible. Which, you know... kinda means we're the ones banishing ourselves...\\
'''Lena:''' What?! I thought I was your friend!\\
'''Linda:''' Uh... You are. I just meant--\\
'''Lena:''' Then what do you need them for?\\
'''Linda:''' I just thought that maybe...\\
'''Lena:''' My friendship isn't enough? Is that it?

* ''Franchise/WonderWoman'':
** ''ComicBook/SensationComics'': Mona Menise is already a menace, but when she realizes her crush ComicBook/SteveTrevor is in love with Wonder Woman she gets much much worse and decides to murder them both.
** ''ComicBook/WonderWoman1942'':
*** Priscilla Rich chose to murder Diana when Di got more attention than her at a charity performance where Di had top billing and Pris was the announcer. When this failed and then "Courtley Darling" drove Di home from the performance instead of Pris her fury at this perceived slight drove her to create a costumed villain identity as the ComicBook/{{Cheetah}}. Her further criminal activities are all driven by her envy of others.
*** Gel Osey is so furious that other Holliday College students are getting publicity for working on a rocket that is intended to go to Venus and bring back information about the planet that she tries to join the project at the last minute despite having zero of the requirements or skills and then attacks those working on the project when they won't let her. She later sneaks aboard the vessel to try to show them up and become more famous than them by going to Venus, on the designed to be unmanned craft, which ensures the rocket crashes due to the weight difference.
** ''ComicBook/WonderWoman1987'':
** Veronica Cale is dangerously jealous of Wonder Woman. She thinks that an OmnidisciplinaryScientist billionaire magnate who worked her way up from rather humble origins like herself is more deserving of the title than a magical princess like Diana. If she wasn't also a MadScientist who kills innocent people and turns others into living weapons she might actually have a point.
