* The NES version of ''{{Monopoly}}'' allows the player to make offers on AI players' property, which the AI will accept a certain percent of the time depending on how high the offer is. However, since there's no limit to how many times an offer can be made per turn, the player can repeatedly offer an extremely low amount for a property and the AI will eventually agree. Effectively, this means the player can take over the entire board with ease.

* {{Yu-Gi-Oh!}}: Noah's deck master Shinato's Ark is this all the way. First, whenever an opponent attacks Noah directly, he gets to special summon a monster in the Graveyard to block the attack, and can do this once for each monster in the Graveyard. Second, he can outright remove all the monsters in both Graveyards from play to gain 500 Life Points for each one. And then when the Ark is destroyed, Shinato itself is summoned. Whenever Shinato destroys a monster, the opponent's Life Points are cut in half and Noah's points increase by the same amount. When the opponent takes battle damage, Noah gains the same amount of points they lost. Whenever Shinato would be destroyed it moves back off the field into the Deck Master position, so it effectively cannot be destroyed. Oh, and it has 3300 ATK points. No wonder Noah became the first duelist in the show to get over 10,000 Life Points.

** You think ''that's'' a GameBreaker? Later volumes in the LightNovel introduce ''even more powerful characters than Accelerator'', such as [[MagnificentBastard Fiamma of the Right]], whom Touma even describes his power as being a character in an RPG with an "I WIN" command! Touma himself skirts the line closely, since in a world full of magical powers and supernatural abilities, a right hand that essentially kills all other abilities is ''the'' GameBreaker.

* In ''ToAruMajutsuNoIndex'', Accelerator's esper ability is pretty much a total GameBreaker. He can control the vector values of ANYTHING he touches. He can increase/decrease the speed, change the direction and gravity of where it goes and control how much force feedback it can cause. Including his own body. He just has to touch you to cause severe harm to your innards. And woe betide anyone who is or gets wounded in a fight against him. In THAT case he will touch your wound, making contact with your blood. THEN he'll just [[AndIMustScream reverse the flow of the blood circulation, killing you in a VERY horrible way.]] And to top the whole thing: his powers are automatic so anything that tries to hit him hits back to where it came from. '''HARD.''' * In ''{{Mistborn}}'' the two primary magic systems are allomancy (where small pieces of particular metals are swallowed and then "burned" to grant particular superhuman powers) and feruchemy (where one can store up one's own attributes in pieces of metal and tap into them later- for example, becoming very weak and frail for a time lets you store the energy to gain SuperStrength at a later time). For the most part, the two systems are MutuallyExclusiveMagic- except for [[EvilOverlord the Lord Ruler]], who was both an allomancer ''and'' a feruchemist, meaning that he could swallow and burn metals in which he'd stored his own qualities, giving him access to ''insane'' amounts of power that no-one else in the series could match.

* No mention of Quidditch from HarryPotter, namely the Snitch being worth 150 points? One ball being worth 15 goals AND ends the game, giving the other team no chance of catching up once it's caught. Also, 15 goals is not a trivial amount- to be that far behind, the opposing team would have to be outscoring your team 2 to 1 or more. In most cases with relatively even teams, it's an automatic game winner.

* The site ''Yahoo Answers'' is a [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin site owned by Yahoo where you can ask and answer questions]]. Answers can be the "best" answer if they get enough votes, even if they're not truly the best or even correct. It's possible to ''vote your own answer''; In the voting stage every answer is left anonymous, but most people can tell which one was theres. Thus, you can obtain points which are both a BraggingRightsReward and let you both answer and ask more questions.

* In the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ), Roger Gracie (competing as a super heavyweight in the World Jiu Jitsu Championships, aka the "Mundials") has by all accounts both "best of the modern age" skill and physical strength and long limbs that complement that, making him a case of Strong AND Skilled which for most proves to be an impossible combination to overcome. Ironically, his few losses have mostly been to two lighter competitors, Alexandre "Xande" Ribeiro and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, who themselves are BJJ legends in their own right (not just for defeating Roger Gracie at all).

* There's speculation that the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_XB-70_Valkyrie B-70]] programme was killed for this reason -- the theory being that a nuclear bomber that could fly at that altitude and speed would be so difficult to intercept that the most practical solution would be to launch an attack before the US could deploy any of them.
** It would have been amazing, true, but not so amazing. The fuels it was supposed to run on, [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_fuel zip fuels]], were notoriously toxic and difficult to use as fuel. The political and technological atmospheres were shifting towards missiles over bombers. Most importantly, though, SAMs were continuing to improve; the contemporary SA-5 Gammon missile systems could reach 40km altitudes, well over the Valk's flight ceiling. Further, as a result of SAM improvements, bomber doctrine shifted from high-altitude strategic bombing to low-altitude penetration, which the Valk could not do.
* The first ironclad gunships during the AmericanCivilWar. The CSS Virginia [[hottip:*: [[BeamMeUpScotty Not the Merrimack.]] That was a Union ship that was sunk, salvaged by the Confederates, covered in plate metal, and rechristened the Virginia.]] sank, captured, and ran aground three ships and basically took no damage. When the Union responded with the USS Monitor, the two ships both fired at each other for hours but neither took any significant damage.

* Generals have always been looking for the next GameBreaker. First there was biological warfare. Then guns. Then came nuclear weapons. This is why there are treaties on nuclear weapons, and the whole existence of mutual assured destruction. Of course, this doesn't stop people from looking for (unworkable) ways to neutralize nuclear weapons, which would be a GameBreaker indeed. In the more "out there" world, the CIA has done investigations into truth serums and [[TheMenWhoStareAtGoats psychic phenomena]].

* Michael Larson, a contestant on the game show ''PressYourLuck''. He ''memorized'' the patterns that the board revolves around ahead of time, and became the biggest winner in the show's history by a huge margin ($110,237 in cash and prizes). Following this, the patterns were repeatedly changed to prevent another such incident, and CBS refused to air the episodes (yes, it actually took two episodes for him to finish playing) on TV for over twenty years.
** To put this in perspective, it would be the most money anyone would win on American TV until WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire made its debut.

* Until 2003, ''[[{{Jeopardy}} Jeopardy!]]'' champions could win up to 5 games before being retired. Starting in the 2003-04 season, the producers instituted a "sky's the limit" rule, where champions could go on and on winning until being defeated. Towards the season's end, Ken Jennings came along and went on a [[BeyondTheImpossible 74-game winning streak]] [[GoneHorriblyRight that lasted into the next season]]. And [[YourMileageMayVary it's debatable]] whether Jennings' last game was a genuine loss, or him throwing in the towel, thinking "I've got enough, I can go home now.".
