* After brutally waking up from his coma, Finn wanders in the Resistance's command ship's corridor, still wearing a bacta suit... which is punctured.

** It also makes for a hilarious {{Chekhovs Gun}}, as, in the scenes immediately showing BB-8 prior to the jailbreak, he's rolling around with an audible jingling sound, like some kind of mobile piggy bank.

** The entire exchange between the two is utterly gold. When Hux initially responds he lets fly with a [[EvilGloating speech]] about how the Resistance is doomed and they will be wiped out only to be cut off by Poe saying he's still on hold waiting for General Hux. Hux pauses and ''restarts'' the speech, only to be cut off by Poe Troll again asking for General Hux. The general's bombast gives way to ''legitimate confusion'' as he asks his staff if Poe knows they can hear him.

* The fact that there's a Porg onboard the ''Millennium Falcon''. Chewbacca roars... and the Porg, an UglyCute small fluffy thing that seems harmless, ''mimics the roar'' while Chewie gives it an impressed look.

** Later on, the Porg tries to jump up to the controls of the ''Falcon'', before an annoyed Chewie [[https://youtu.be/Ba2l_h3vCJ8?t=36 shoves him out of the way]].

* The otherwise epic "BB-8, punch it!" scene in the trailer has BB-8 activate an enormous booster on the back of Poe's X-wing, which accelerates the ship so fast that even in ''space'', BB-8 finds himself tilted 90 degrees backward by the acceleration.

* ''The Force Awakens'' [[ContinuityNod made a point]] of addressing the ''Millennium Falcon'' losing a radar dish in ''Return of the Jedi'' -- during the attack on the second Death Star -- by giving the ship a new one. Here, that new dish gets lost not because the ship is flying through Crait's chasms under similar circumstances, but because ''a TIE chasing the ship shot it off''. Poor Han must be rolling in his grave.

** The actual context in the movie is funnier: [[spoiler:after Poe succeeds in destroying a Dreadnought-class Star Destroyer (albeit with a lot of casualties), Leia slaps him after a GilliganCut, demotes him and tells him that there are problems which he can't solve by jumping into an X-Wing and blowing something up.]]

* [[spoiler:When Luke asks about where Rey's from, she replies that she's from nowhere, prompting Luke to say otherwise and fish out a real answer. Rey reveals that she hails from Jakku, and Luke agrees that Jakku is pretty much nowhere. This gets funnier knowing that Jakku, as a desert planet where Rey works as a scavenger to make ends meet, is more or less similar to Luke's home planet of Tatooine.]]

* Kylo Ren's [[spoiler: at the ordering the First Order on the rebel planet and Hux repeating the very same thing, despite the fact that the officers are right in front of them and clearly heard Kylo the first time. After the third repeat, Kylo even gave a YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe side-glance to Hux's obvious attempt at control.]]

* [[spoiler: Master Yoda]] returns to give Luke some much needed advice, but not before [[spoiler: burning down the tree containing the Jedi texts]]. When Luke calls him out, he just laughs it off, claiming Rey already has what she needs. At the end of the film, we see that Rey [[spoiler: actually stole the books from the tree before it was burned down. Not only was Yoda talking literally, he apparently decided to ''troll'' Luke and looked like he was having the time of his life doing so.]]

* [[spoiler:The first time Rey accesses the Force telepathy bond between her and Kylo, their eyes, meet, there is a moment of utter confusion -- then Rey promptly shoots at him with a blaster and he flinches in reaction, expecting to having been hit. Then he tries to Force freeze her. Of course, neither attempt is successful.]]
