** Kindaichi, being the ApatheticStudent, struggles to cope with the strict regimen in the CramSchool, and it ''shows''. He begs and pleads to go with Miyuki when she tells him goodbye, right around the START of the regimen, necessitating Souta to hold him back. Then he gets distracted by his own thoughts about how Miyuki is doing early in a class session, which causes him to pull out the wrong textbook and results in the teacher telling him off for it. The meals being provided in the facility isn't enough to sate his appetite, as evidenced when he whines about needing a hamburger and fries. He also finds the study sessions, each of which lasts ''hours'' at a time, quite grueling, though Miyuki is ''happy'' that he's finally studying now when hearing about it on the phone, which displeases him. At one point he breaks down, causing the teacher to tell him not to make noises and to turn to the subject at hand, before immediately letting his mind wander with the ImagineSpot of Miyuki, much to Sota's exasperation.

** Once all of the students who had disappeared earlier are found dead, Akechi corresponds with Kindaichi now that the police can confirm their deaths as murder, with one caveat -- namely, Kindaichi is to perform autopsies on the bodies of the deceased students who are in the same study group as he in order to prevent potential tampering, much to Kindaichi's displeasure.
--->'''Kindaichi''': ''[thinking privately]'' Why'd I agree to do this?
** After the autopsies are completed, Souta checks on Kindaichi, who's ''still'' not happy about having to perform such a procedure.
--->'''Kindaichi''': ''[thinking to himself]'' It must be hard being a doctor.

** Intending to be able to remain in contact despite being in different study groups, Kindaichi decides to make sure Miyuki conceals her cellphone in a safe hiding area, so he puts it... [[VictoriasSecretCompartment underneath her bra]]. The lack of clarification beforehand on Kindaichi's part, however, gets him slapped in the face for it before he explains to her.
** As for Kindaichi's own cellphone, he comes up with a... different solution for hiding it. This is illustrated when Akechi inquires him about how he plans to correspond due to him not being in the same study group as Akechi himself and Miyuki, with him pulling out his cellphone... [[TrouserSpace from underneath his sweatpants uniform]], with the cellphone in question emitting an ''odor'' once he shows it to Akechi.
--->'''Akechi''': That's very good, but did you need to put it such a location?\\
'''Kindaichi''': I needed to hide it. If they find out I have a phone, there's chance I will get expelled!

** Upon arriving at the CramSchool, the teacher who's also the vice manager and supervisor for the school stops Kindaichi at the entrance due to the bulky backpack he's carrying and insists that he shows the contents within, both to minimize distractions to studying and prevent potential escape or, worse, suicide. Kindachi is left with no choice but to empty the backpack, which contains [[BreadEggsMilkSquick cookies, games, comic books, an erotic magazine, and a CONDOM]]. Kindaichi is red in the face with embarrassment when the teacher holds up the last item.
