* After freeing Marina, Eight moves to catch her and seems to succeed...only for Marina to turn out to either be too heavy for them or falling too fast, causing both of them to fall to the ground in a heap.

* With each defeat, it's clear that the losses are clearly begin to weigh on Smollusk, as does the fact that the heroes clearly aren't taking him seriously anymore, to the point where Marina and Acht have to assure him that he's still scary. However, eventually things flip and he starts pretending that that he isn't starting to enjoy your visits and acting as a FinalBoss. After you finish all the Palettes, the little guy finally admits that he loves battling you and everyone has fully accepted these interactions are being little more than good-natured sparring matches at this point, even promising to visit him for more fights in the future. And indeed, all future fights have very casual and friendly intros and outros.

* As you continue to beat Order/Smollusk, his defeats clearly begin to weigh on him, as does the fact that the heroes clearly aren't taking him seriously anymore, to the point where Marina and Acht have to assure him that he's still scary. However, eventually things flip and he starts pretending that that he isn't starting to enjoy your visits and acting as a FinalBoss. By the time you finish all the Palettes, the little guy finally admits that he loves fighting you and everyone has fully accepted these interactions are being little more than friendly sparring matches at this point.
** On one attempt, Pearl decides that it's Eight's turn to reason with the AI. Smollusk insists that nothing you say will sway it... then starts getting anxious when Eight (being a silent protagonist) says absolutely nothing, and begs them to say something. ''Anything''. Pwease! Marina tries to assure it that Eight is simply shy.
* Even though you'd possibly have to go out of your way to do so, the fact that you could be splatted by a ''portal'' of all things. And if that just happens to the the splat that ends your run, Marina has some... Choice words to say about it.

** When Acht gives additional justification for staying behind inside of the elevator beyond her damaged arm -- it'll go back down to the lobby if they left -- Marina posits that Acht's other reason is probably because they've always loved being in small, cramped spaces. Acht says that this is ridiculous... before thinking about it and realizing they do feel surprisingly at ease being there.

*** Their "collaboration" happened because Off The Hook was starting their first Splatsville concert and Frye was ''big mad'' about it, resulting in her and Shiver storming into Off The Hook's green room to start a verbal brawl. *** Pearl and Frye are rap-battling, with Pearl starting off so hard that Frye has to cut in to actually get her turn. Oh, and Pearl dedicates an ''entire bar'' to a ShipTease with Marina, as if ''Side Order'' didn't have ''enough'' of those! On top of that, Frye calls Marina a "grouper", a fish pun on "groupie", implying some ''very saucy things'', since EveryoneCanSeeIt at this point.
*** Shiver engages in PassiveAggressiveKombat against Marina by hurling [[StealthInsult veiled insults]] at her. Marina is either turning them back on her by basically saying, "Why thank you, I can do so much better by learning from ''you,''" or she isn't aware she's being insulted and thinks Shiver is complimenting her.

** Pearl completely forgot who Agent 4 was, despite them being Eight's roommate.
** Apparently Shiver is a ClingyJealousGirl when it comes to Frye, as Pearl reveals, as she notes she can feel Shiver's stare boring a hole in her skull whenever she talks to Frye.
** Marina had no idea that Big Man and Ian BGM were the same person, despite the fact that ''Pearl'' figured it out.

** When the topic of Frye comes up, Pearl notes that whenever she sees her, Frye comes charging at her, and Pearl can never anticipate whether Frye wants to hug her or punch her.
** Pearl still thinks of Murch as a short kid despite Marina pointing out that Murch has been taller than her for a ''while'' now.

** Acht is a childhood friend of Marina, but they've never seen Marina act quite the way she does with Pearl. Every single time Marina starts gushing over how cool and incredible Pearl is, Acht's aloof persona breaks as they awkwardly try to figure out how to respond to it. By the time you hit the post-game, Acht is very thankful that Eight's presence means they aren't a ThirdWheel.

** When Acht gives additional justification for staying behind inside of the elevator -- it'll go back down to the lobby if they left -- Marina posits that Acht's other reason is probably because they've always loved being in small, cramped spaces. Acht says that this is ridiculous... before thinking about it and realizing they do feel surprisingly at ease being there.

** Marina and Acht talk about an old rhythm game the former made while they were in school, and that it was ''really'' hard, to the point where only Acht was any good at it despite their complaints that it clocked over 888 BPM. Marina reveals she made an ''even harder sequel''. Why? ''Pearl easily mastered the original''. Considering Pearl thought it was ''easy'', apparently Pearl is some kind of ''rhythm game god''.

* One of Marina's dev logs tells the story on how Eight finally got their name, having gone by Agent 8 up until that point before Marina decided to call them that, and [[WhenSheSmiles earning a smile from Eight in the process.]] A heartwarming story... until you check the date and realize it took everyone, including Eight themselves, over ''five years'' before they even considered giving them a name.

* Once you get halfway through the lockers, Pearl insists that Eight get the keys to open all of them so she can find out what happens next in Marina's diary. Not only does Marina seem to be having second thoughts over giving Eight and Pearl the greenlight to read her private thoughts, insisting Pearl stop drooling over her diary entries (though she'd much rather that Pearl [[ShipTease drool over her instead]]), but she also reveals that Pearl has been ''reading them out loud this entire time''.

** Pearl's ever present hatred of chargers is another frequent mention.

Pearl and Frye are rap-battling (with Pearl starting off so hard that Fyre has to cut in to actually get her turn) and Shiver and Marina engaging in PassiveAggressiveKombat with Shiver hurling veiled insults while Marina turns them back on her by basically saying, "why thank you, I can do so much better by learning from ''you''". Oh, and Pearl dedicates an ''entire bar'' to a ShipTease with Marina, as if ''Side Order'' didn't have ''enough'' of those!

** One of the post-game elevator conversations has Marina tell you about the [[AllOrNothing Risky Rewards hack]] as though she's introducing a new product in a smarmy sales pitch, and Acht says as much.

** Acht mentions that Marina once spent ''two hours'' talking to nobody about excavators. Pearl is shocked... That Marina's nerdy rants were ''shorter'' than they are now. Marina remarks that she was once merely a novice nerd, and now she feels more confident about delivering longer, nerdier rants.... before Acht decides to change the conversation.
