The Pokédex acts like a real world wiki: as such, there are Comedy some pretty funny things in there.

!! Notes
* This page is only about the Pokédex entries. NOT a page regarding specific game mechanics or plot settings or the like. For those kinds of entries you might want to check the respective game's Comedy/Funny page.

* A funny thing with the Pokédex is that when categorizing Pokémon by their color, there's no option for the color orange. At first, this seems pretty stupid and silly, but as it turns out, in some countries such as Japan, orange just flat-out isn't a color, and is instead referred to as "reddish-yellow" or something similar.

* Magikarp's entries are all incredibly savage. Almost all of them talk about how utterly weak and useless it is and just roast the hell out of it. What makes this especially funny is that in a way, it isn't even true, as there are Pokémon weaker than Magikarp, such as Sunkern or Blipbug.
** Pokémon Red and Blue's 'dex entry says "In the distant past, it was somewhat stronger than the horribly weak descendants that exist today."
** Pokémon Yellow's 'dex entry says "Famous for being very unreliable. It can be found swimming in seas, lakes, rivers and shallow puddles."
** Pokémon Gold's 'dex entry says "An underpowered, pathetic Pokémon. It may jump high on rare occasions, but never more than seven feet."
** Pokémon Crystal's 'dex entry says "This weak and pathetic Pokémon gets easily pushed along rivers when there are strong currents."
** Pokémon Ruby's 'dex entry says "Magikarp is a pathetic excuse for a Pokémon that is only capable of flopping and splashing. This behavior prompted scientists to undertake research on it."
** Pokémon Fire Red's 'dex entry says "It is virtually worthless in terms of both power and speed. It is the most weak and pathetic Pokémon in the world."
** Pokémon Diamond's 'dex entry says "It is said to be the world's weakest Pokémon. No one knows why it has managed to survive."
** Pokémon Moon's 'dex entry says "Its reckless leaps make it easy pickings for predators. On the bright side, many Pokémon enjoy longer life spans, thanks to Magikarp."
** Pokémon Legends Arceus's 'dex entry says "A feeble, pitiful imbecile of a Pokémon that is nonetheless very hardy. Unperturbed by turbid water, it can be found living in all sorts of places."

* Sudowoodo is so bad at mimicking trees that it fails to fool even children.

* Apparently, nobody in the Pokémon world knows what the Pokéball-like pattern on Foongus means or why Foongus has it. This is quite amusing, as it's very obvious to everyone playing the game that Foongus is intended to be a Pokéball fake-out Pokémon like Voltorb and Electrode.

* Maschiff is always scowling in an attempt to make opponents take it seriously, but it's so unconvincing even crying children will burst into laughter when they see its face.
* Iron Jugulis is supposedly and unrealistically the offspring of a Hydreigon that fell in love with a robot. It's almost entirely likely that this is untrue because it basically defies all laws of reproduction, but the sheer absurdity of it makes it hilarious.
