** Thankfully, seasons 6-9 show that Starlight has managed to improve herself mentally and isn't as much a danger to anyone as before.

** It is possible at least one of them may have been one where Sunset Shimmer won and managed to take over Equestria since Sunset still would have turned against Celestia and gone through the portal to the human world without the Sonic Rainboom. Only without Twilight being in a position to stop her plans in the first Equestria Girls movie, Sunset would have remained in her "she-demon" form and succeeded, never pulling a HeelFaceTurn.

** Another reason this is unlikely is because even though she looks like Flutterbat, she is still 100% Fluttershy, meaning she'd never do anything that would actually hurt her friends. Not to mention, Twilight, and possibly Rarity, would go absolutely feral if Spike got hurt, and the rest of the Mane Six would probably be equally as unhappy.

* The Nightmare Moon timeline is one of the more pleasant to live in because [[PragmaticVillainy she wants everyone to love her which they won't do if she treats them like dirt.]] Fair enough, but considering that her taking charge involved imprisoning [[OneHundredPercentAdorationRating Celestia]] in the moon and presumably quashing any other attempts to stop her, and everyone's initial fear when she resurfaced in the series premiere, her initial takeover probably didn't leave Equestria with much reason to love her. While we don't see many others beyond Rarity and Rainbow Dash react to Nightmare Moon's rule, the point remains that, in the ''years'' that Celestia has been stated to be trapped on the moon for, Nightmare Moon was basically trying to invoke Equestria-wide ''Stockholm Syndrome''.
