* The dolls have the originals' memories and personalities, but once under their creator's control, they seem to become totally empty and emotionless, similar to TheSoulless, with Doll Tasha even remorselessly killing what she would have remembered as her own daughter. That they had these personalities originally indicates either they might retain awareness under this control in an AndIMustScream situation equivalent to a human suffering DemonicPossession; their human personalities can be completely obliterated by their creator at a moment's notice to harness as an unfeeling tool; or they use their human memories to copy human behavior and fake emotion for a flawless DeadPersonImpersonation for the purposes their creator demands of them. Any of the above has extremely unsettling implications, especially with Max and Doll Alicia.
* The dolls must obey their creator and seemingly have no sense of self or free will in the face of commands from their creator. While Max has something that looks and acts like Alicia, she would have no free will but to mindlessly obey if he tells her to do something, meaning no more cute, funny, ordinary-sibling fights over whether or not he can take her car keys. Sooner or later, Max will be faced with the fact that Doll Alicia is a pale imitation of his real twin forced to obey him without argument, missing a key component of humanity.
