* In the novel and miniseries, Henry called Mike a "nigger" as much as he could whenever they encountered each other. However, in the newest adaption, Henry doesn't use the slur at any point to insult Mike. Why? Because the novel and miniseries takes place in the 50s (60s in the miniseries), where it was much common for a white man to call a black man a "nigger", whereas the 2017 version takes place in the 80s.

** Adding to this... during the movie, Pennywise [[spoiler:creates illusions of Georgie to mess with Bill's head, first in his own cellar and then again in the sewers, and both times Georgie is missing his arm. Why is this important? Because Bill never saw what happened to Georgie, he'd have no knowledge that Georgie lost his arm. He even says the body was never found, so unless he saw Georgie die with his own eyes, he'd never know he lost his arm first... but the AUDIENCE knows that, because WE saw it happen. ** It's also explained in the book: Georgie Denbrough has blue eyes, like all the Denbrough family does. The book explains that Georgie sees the bright orange animalistic eyes looking at him, and immediately gets scared... but then he sees the eyes are changing to blue, and it must've been his imagination, because the eyes are EXACTLY like the eyes of his brother, hismother and his father, and he loves ALL of them, meaning these eyes are OBVIOUSLY trustworthy too. You can even see Pennywise's eyes changing in the film, appearing at first as orange-yellow, then changing to blue as he steps into the light

* When Bill shoots IT in the form of Georgie, IT doesn't die, but merely drops the form to become Pennywise again. This seems contradictory to the idea that IT can be hurt based on the rules of its form. After all, if IT were really Georgie, that bolt would have been lethal. However, the difference is that Bill didn't believe he was shooting Georgie, that his opponent was that weak. In ''Chapter Two'', adult Eddie almost kills IT by himself when IT encounters him as the Leper, because he starts to realize how weak the form is and starts choking IT with the knowledge that he's choking a diseased, rotting person and not an abomination. When Bill shoots IT, he does it right after declaring his confidence that IT is ''not'' Georgie, and so, even though he believes it will hurt, he does not believe it can be lethal because he does not believe in the form he is attacking.

* In this version of the story, IT appears as Pennywise for Richie, because his fear is clowns. This makes sense, since it sets the two as counterpoints-- IT as Pennywise's game is to make the comedic perversely horrific, while Richie counters horror with almost inappropriate humor.

* When Georgie--actually IT disguised as him--appears alive in the sewer, he's missing the arm that Pennywise bit off in the opening sequence. Why would this be? You'd think that, if IT is trying to deceive Bill, why not have his disguise as Georgie be whole? Because he's not just trying to trick Bill, he's trying to trick ''us'', too! By showing Georgie apparently alive, but missing his arm, that plants the hint that maybe Georgie really ''is'' still alive for some reason in this version. No one ever found Georgie or his remains in-universe or saw what happened to him, but we the audience ''did''--it would be even more obvious than it already is that this isn't really Georgie if he had both arms.
