the titular character and Creator/PattyJenkins once again takes the director's chair. Jenkin shares a story and writing credit with Creator/GeoffJohns with help from screenwriter David Callaham. The film is set for release the ninth installment of the [[Franchise/DCExtendedUniverse DC Films]] franchise and is the second produced under the franchise's new head, Walter Hamada, after a 2018 restructuring. Music/HansZimmer is scoring the film.

The film takes place in the year [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin 1984]] and follows Diana as she (to quote the official press release), "comes into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s and finds a formidable foe by the name of the ComicBook/{{Cheetah}}.” The cast is rounded out with Creator/ChrisPine as Steve Trevor, Creator/KristenWiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Creator/PedroPascal as Maxwell Lord, Creator/ConnieNielsen as Diana's mother Queen Hippolyta, and Creator/RobinWright as her aunt Antiope. Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Kristoffer Polaha and Amr Waked have all been cast in undisclosed roles as well.

The film will be released worldwide
on June 5, 2020.
