[[caption-width-right:350:It didn't live up its name...]]
A 1986 film written and directed by Creator/EmilioEstevez, also the film's star. John Wisdom (Estevez) and his girlfriend Karen (Creator/DemiMoore[[note]]Estevez's real-life girlfriend at the time[[/note]]) go on a cross-country crime spree...
!!This work exhibits the following tropes
* ArtisticLicenceEconomics: Wisdom goes on a bank-robbing spree, but not to steal money. Instead, he and Karen destroy bank property records to help farmers. The film was released in 1986, a time when American farmers were having problems keeping their farms. The banks were seen to be the bad guys because they were the ones foreclosing when the farmers couldn't make the payments on the loans. In the film, John Wisdom is seen as a modern-day Myth/RobinHood because he saves the farmers from foreclosure. Apparently, in the movie, the banks that are hit [[NoPlansNoPrototypeNoBackup only have one copy]] of the records and when Wisdom destroys these records, there are no ill effects on the local economies. There have been times when that would have worked - medieval serf rebellions often made a point of destroying any records proving who were serfs so that any survivors could then pass themselves as yeomen - but it doesn't work well in an era with photocopiers.
* DownerEnding: [[spoiler: Wisdom is gunned down resisting arrest. Although Karen survives, she's been shot and accidentally killed a sheriff so she may very well go to prison.]]
* JustLikeRobinHood: They hold up banks - to burn the bank records of poor famers and indebted families.
* ItWasAllADream: [[spoiler: Everything in the movie after he leaves his parents' bathroom his pre-job interview dream.]]
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Why Wisdom goes on a crime spree. He can't get a job because he stole a car while drunk after graduation.
