It's not like he can go back anyways, after what Haggar did to him. At least this way, he can keep a close eye on the Galra Prince- or at least, that's the plan. Actually carrying it out proves to be far more difficult than he could have expected, leading him to realize that the real threat might never have been Zarkon.
