No one wanted to hire a disgraced marine, particularly one who had been publicly dismissed for mutinous acts, but the whaling captain who’d eventually hired him had only cared that Solomon knew how to handle himself in Arctic waters. Solomon had returned to work under that same captain year after year every whaling season since.
