** Tropes/Sithking Zero: The Gate's opening is pushed back into the 2030s, after the wars in the middle east ended with the destruction of virtually the whole area. This left an enduring impact on the America here, and thus Americans are extremely cautious about the horrors of imperialism and the wars that can result, leading to canon Gate events gaining a new look from those who are watching as Japan marches down an old, bloody path... This isn't to say that the Americans are perfect, far from it. They make mistakes, they get hurt, they die. But it is a tad eye-opening to take a second look at Japan's actions in Gate from the point of view of anti-imperialism. Also, it needs a Trope Page.

* Comments: Takes place one year after the events of Gears of War 3 as Sera enters into an era of peace and most of humanity unite under the newly established United Seran Government. Ironically, on the one year anniversary of the Locust War, the Empire invaded the wrong people and they get quickly crushed without needing the help of Delta Team. The USG, facing an energy crisis with Imulsion completely gone, sends an expedition to Falmart to find new resources while establishing diplomacy with the other side of the Gate. Character personalities are spot on. The story tries to avoid TheStationsOfTheCanon. The most notable is that Adam Fenix is NOT the main character as he has chosen to retire, therefore giving the story to be more focus ADayInTheLimelight on the other Gear protagonists.

* Comments: A quest-type fic found on Sufficient Velocity told from a 2nd person viewpoint. Unlike the JSDF, Honeybee has extremely limited firepower and has to venture back and forth between the Zone and Gate-world to resupply. Part of the story also deals with him trying to keep Pheela a secret from the other stalkers so they don't shoot her on sight as well as teaching her how to survive in the Zone. Both protagonists have HiddenDepths of their own that becomes more apparent as the story progresses.Tropers can participate in the story by voting on the threat at Sufficient Velocity.

* Comments: Instead of invading modern-day Tokyo, the Empire ends up invading the planet Krieg in the 41st Millenium, and the Death Korps of Krieg responds in kind. The Imperium takes a completely different approach than Japan, from both the response to the invasion and the treatment of locals. This is definitely a DarkFic, with the Death Korps of Krieg acting very much in character (i.e. acts of cold brutality ).

* Summary: At the height of the Union's Power a gate mysteriously appears in Kiev, unleashing a torrent of invaders killing and maiming all in their path. Now that the Bear has awoken from its uneasy slumber, nothing will stop its fury.
* Comments: This story takes an interesting look where the Soviet Union of a different universe in 1967 is attacked at the same time as the Japanese. As such, the Red Bear is awoken and begins its invasion of the new world, finding the precious metal Mythril which even a tiny amount can make their vehicles invisible to enemy radars. The differences in eras for their weapons though make the Japanese just as big a threat as their NATO enemies in their own world, if not an even bigger threat due to the large differences in years.
