His actions led to his daughter being kidnapped, forcing him to spend sleepless nights worrying about her, Ponyville being looted by Vulcan's army, and then Vulcan calling him out on this in front of the entire town, destroying his reputation. His is misled into thinking Diamond Tiara is dead, and when he finds her, he breaks down realizing he couldn't save her.
