Two years after the events of Labyrinthia, Hershel Layton is sent a letter "asking" him to locate someone who went missing while visiting the small Scottish village of Fatargan. However, while on the train journey up to Scotland, along with his former assistant Luke Triton whose back in England while his fathers at a conference, the two happen to meet a certain Lawyer, who seems to have completely changed since they all last met.
