It’s also later revealed every starter not chosen is part of a collective entity known as The Unborn, which Squirtle was supposed to return to after Myra!Player resets, but instead, she exploits them as an army to try and finish off Myra!Vulpix, which would force her to be returned to them. By the end, neither Vulpix or Shinx are available choices, due to the PlotlineDeath of Myra!Vulpix and Shadow, with the character selection screen showing their corpses as Unborn.
