* EvilVersusEvil: Without the presence of the Class 1-A members at Hosu, the Nomu directly interfered with Stain's work, leading him to publicly swear vengeance upon the League of Villains.

He is not the top of his class, and his team was the only one to get a failing grade in the final exams, largely because of him.

* MundaneSolution: Jirou raises a concern about how loud noises hurt her after Bakugo unintentionally deafens her, so Mei just grabs some specialty earplugs off the counter. While a lot more advanced than our current standards, they are so mundane in that time that Mei thinks nothing of it.

As for Momo, she psychologically manipulated him into a bad situation, kept up with him (albeit with weights on), and delivered the decisive blow which left him knocked completely unconscious in contrast to all the other teachers.

Before the revelation of Quirks, scientific development was making explosive strides before suddenly stagnating for centuries. The only types of development actually occurring tend to be directly related to support gear.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: Aizawa underestimates how good the gauntlets Izuku made are, and during his fight with Momo he hits them with a brick. He's completely shocked when he sees that not only are they still fully functional, he barely made a few scratches on them.

* JerkassHasAPoint: [[DeconstructedTrope Deconstructed]] when Aizawa finds out Momo is training to use her new gauntlets for the exam, right before the said exam. He has entirely rational reasons for her to not use them, since changing your her entire fighting style right before an event that will have a major impact upon your life is generally a bad idea. Plus, he has seen too many villains fall prey to being too dependent upon their support gear/weaponry. Except he comes off so abrasive and condescending about the matter, especially as he is in a grumpy mood, comes off as insulting to Momo, Izuku, and Mei, and the way Izuku reacts makes Momo particularly dig her heels in. He is also failing to properly appreciate what Momo is capable of, and what quality of gear it is.

** In direct contrast, Momo's parents despise the very notion of nepotism, and make it very clear to Izuku and Mei that while they may have this coming summer internship, if they wish to be rehired they have to prove their worth on their own merit; being friends of Momo will get them nowhere.

* SpiderSense: Mei presents Momo with sensors that warn her of an imminent attack via alerts on her new visor.

By taking the time and energy to do so, means she can create exact copies of them for herself at any time, giving her a huge edge. All of this is in contrast to her peers, who give some specifics of what they need but are not too involved in making them. On a similar note, her classmates (particularly the girls) were just handed their uniforms and expected to make due, while Momo is now working with her friends to create one both functional for her Quirk while not basically just a revealing swimsuit.

* SkilledButNaive: Momo is this in the beginning, being too trusting of others and the system. Thankfully though, she has her mom, Jirou, and Mei doing what they can to keep an eye out for her, and is gradually becoming more and more aware of the shades of greys involved in things. However, when confronted with Nedzu's TheNeedsOfTheMany mindset and his reasoning for his actions (albeit withholding information like fears about All For One), she maintains her belief in how a hero should always TakeTheThirdOption to save everyone.

** Bakugo is ''not'' generally appreciated by his classmates for his horrible personality, and revealed that Momo and Kirishima have had to do a lot of damage control to keep the entirety of 1-B from believing they are the same and has concerns about how the rest of the school sees them. Hence him only being suspended for attacking Izuku is not taken favorably, unaware of Nedzu's concerns about the League of Villains killing or worse recruiting him and the subsequent consequences.
