** Giorno's prank on Olivia in chapter 37 essentially hinged on this. As while it was normal tea all along, much to Olivia's annoynace, he played it as if he was doing his own take on Abbacchio's attempted version of serving Giorno "tea". Olivia even drank it fully expecting it to be what she thought it was as a KarmicNod to her joke from the previous chapter.

* BilingualBonus: "Dieci", Tony Dieci's surname, means "Ten" in Italian, which is represnted by the letter "X" in Roman numerals. In other words, it's a clever way to retain the "Mr. X" name he had in the credits of ''Golden Wind's'' English dub.

*** Chapter 12 has another reference to this same film during a flashback of [[spoiler:Olivia's youth, in which her father secretly brought her along during some mafia business to keep her company. The part where someone is revealed to have been stuffed into the back of the car's trunk and is promptly killed when they awake is a reference to the movie's opening (Olivia was asleep as this happens)]].

** Also in chapter 10, Fugo quipping on the irony of Olivia (whose stand can inflict bad luck) telling Mista not to be superstitious about the number 4 sounds very reminiscent of a line from [[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS2E15TheSecretBoxBandGeeks "Band Geeks"]].
-->'''Fugo''': Oh, the girl with the power of bad luck is gonna preach to us.

** A subtle one, but during the flashback to the Morioh cast in chapter 6, Josuke is mentioned to have wanted expensive shoes upon hearing Koichi was heading for Italy. [[spoiler:When Josuke is actually seen in the story and is talking with Fubuki in Koichi and Hitomi's hotel room, he brings up wanting to buy them while in Italy]].
