* ContinuityPorn: After the book ''Memory and Magic'' came out and contradicted the ''Frozen Wight'' version of Anna restoring her memories, the chapters were edited to be in line with the officially published book's version. * BodyguardingABadass: Fritz, a random seventeen-year-old boy, is bodyguard to Elsa, an ice-sorceress who has the power to cause eternal winters by getting upset. * CannotSpitItOut: Fritz vows to tell Elsa how he feels about her several, ''several'' times, but he is [[RunningGag without fail]] interrupted, up to and including [[spoiler:being interrupted by Elsa herself, cheerfully and obliviously declaring them [[JustFriends friends]].]] On one occasion, he catches on that this running gag is happening and deliberately withholds opening his mouth [[GenreSavvy precisely because he anticipates being interrupted]]....and he promptly is.

Fortunately, Elsa turned his lips blue, forcing him to back off, and she later sends him home.]]

* LaserGuidedKarma: Fritz has a crippling fear of reindeer. When [[spoiler:Olaf finally slips up and tells Kristoff that he saw Anna making out with Fritz]], Fritz finds Sven charging him.

But the moment she hears one of the rebels shout to the others to kill Anna if they find her, she immediately snuffs out the rebels' fires with a big gust of cold wind, then steps out to single-handedly take them down.]]

This leads to constant harassment (culminating when Samson tries to force himself on her after being rescued), and later she goes on an angry rant when she catches a replacement night guard checking her out. One of the reasons Elsa befriends Fritz is because [[ObliviousToLove he's the only guard who hasn't tried to make a pass at her.]] At first, Elsa doesn't seem to realize her beauty is the issue, instead thinking people just want to marry her for her throne, but [[spoiler:eventually she figures out Fritz is attracted to her and tells him she doesn't mind.]] In the end, Elsa comes to the decision that she can dress however she wants because she only does it to please herself, and she doesn't care what anybody else's reaction is.[[note]]And as for the harassment, [[spoiler:Samson is exiled from the country,]] and it's briefly mentioned the other misbehaved guards are being rooted out and terminated by Admiral Klaus.[[/note]]

They opt to ZergRush her. They fail.
* StuffedIntoATrashCan: When Fritz gets frozen solid, Marshmallow tries to stuff him into a mop closet. To mixed results.

* TakeAThirdOption: [[spoiler:Fritz's plotline gets into trouble when Admiral Klaus is hired. He informs Elsa that her sudden need for more staff led to reckless mass hirings and even allowed the last admiral to plant some of his followers in the castle to aid the rebellion, and one of those was Fritz, hired to be Elsa's bodyguard. But Fritz fails to meet certain entry requirements for his job, not to mention he's bounced around and been fired from 14 other jobs. Meaning Elsa must choose whether to either throw him penniless into the streets or marry him. After much deliberation, she... adopts him as a son, after seeing just how abusive his mother is.]]

* TakeThatKiss: [[spoiler:Mary]] gives Elsa one while [[spoiler:draining her magic.]]
* TakeOurWordForIt: The Elsanna paintings are not described. Elsa and Anna, however, are disgusted, and Anna's reaction is, "That doesn't even look like me! You drew me so much more...more...''fuller''!"

Anna and Elsa show up, and Anna promptly makes a beeline for the admiral and punches him in the face, then shouts "That was from Mom and Dad!" and spits in his face, as the admiral insulted their parents after Elsa defeated him.

* UncannyFamilyResemblance: Oaken's relatives make brief appearances and, naturally, they look and sound exactly like him. One imagines that if they were animated, Chris Williams would be voicing them with slight modifications to the Swedish voice he uses for Oaken.

* WholesomeCrossdresser: Marshmallow wants to wear womens' clothing.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Elsa makes ice, and is afraid of heat.

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler:Brandr's fate. After Elsa drops on him like a meteor, he tries to convince the changelings from the other realm that he did them well by supplying them with mortal human infants. But the changelings reveal that they no longer tolerate Brandr's methods, and believe that his crusade against Elsa was less about harvesting magic for the otherworld and more about escaping his rightful punishment. They drag him back to the otherworld and feed him to Chernabog]].

* ZergRush: When Elsa finally gains the confidence to fight back against the witch-burning mob, they don't comply with her warning to surrender and try to rush her like this.

* AbusiveParents: Well, Fritz's mother again. Apparently she's also very abusive to the guards at the jail she's locked up in, to the point that Elsa basically gave her a life sentence.

* BerserkButton: Mary is offended with Fritz's incarcerated mother calling her a tramp. Also, when someone angry at getting hurt while defending his son from a snowman during the second eternal winter attacks Fritz, [[ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend Mary does a full]] CurbStompBattle on the guy.

* BilingualBonus: In the first scene, the Paganians in the church are seen singing a hymn. It's pretty easy to notice that the hymn is actually "Let It Go" translated into Latin.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Olaf and the other snowmen are manipulated by Sussebassen into rebelling against Elsa.

* CriticalResearchFailure: InUniverse, the Paganians have their own holy book for their Elsa-centric religion known as "Elsianity", but poor communications mean that they think that Elsa was the one who got engaged to Hans instead of Anna, that Anna has fire powers and is in an incestuous relationship with Elsa, and Elsa knows someone named Jack Frost.

* GirlOnGirlIsHot: Fritz is highly... ''interested'' in the fact that Mary kissed Elsa.

* InterspeciesRomance:
** Mary (snowman) and Fritz (human).
** There was a troll that Kristoff had a crush on while he was in his early teens
* LampshadeHanging: In Sussebassen's first appearance, Anna lampshades how in so many books, the authorities are useless and it's always a group of teenagers who catch the bad guy.
* NoNameGiven: Apparently, the High Priest of Pagania has no name. The Archbishop never bothered to ask.
* PrecociousCrush: In the sex-ed session, Anna mentions that she had a crush on a guard three times her age when she was a little girl, and "there might have been a heartfelt declaration of love involved."
* PygmalionPlot: Inverted. The creation (Mary) is in love with her creator (Elsa), but Elsa only sees their relationship as mother-daughter.

* TakeThat:
** Just like the original ''Frozen Wight'' had scenes that mocked Elsa / Anna shippers and Hans / Elsa shippers, Pagania's Elsa-centric religion mocks those shippers.

* UnwantedFalseFaith: Elsa feels this way about the Paganians worshipping her (think of her as being like Kurtz from ''Film/ApocalypseNow'' or ''Literature/HeartOfDarkness'' if Kurtz didn't like the natives worshipping him). Overlaps with AGodIAmNot considering how powerful Elsa is.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: A man accosts Mary and Fritz early, after they pay a visit to Fritz's mother. When Fritz tries to defend Mary, the man hits him. This angers Mary and provokes her into giving the man a full beatdown. Which has unfortunate repercussions when Elsa tries to do damage control.

* OhCrap: Elsa's reaction to learning that Anna has been taken hostage by Adrian
** [[spoiler:During the climactic fight between Elsa and Brandr, Brandr has his anti-magic sword to Elsa's neck and is about to finish her off, then has this reaction when she conjures a blast of icy magic to throw him backwards, and it isn't absorbed by the sword]].
** The art curator's face turns pale when Elsa asks if he's hiding any artwork that defames the monarchy's reputation behind a door reading "Private Gallery, DO NOT ENTER."

* [[OneManArmy One Woman Army]]: Elsa dispatches an entire rebellion of angry residents with just her ice powers.
** She later scares off an entire armada, too.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: We see Elsa tames Marshmallow early in the story, and does the same to Cloud and Cottonball after they're created. So this trope happens when start wreaking havoc and go on a rampage, in spite of Elsa's efforts to contain them, right before Brandr appears to reveal his true colors.

In a flashback, Brandr, by himself, is seen cornering the wight in his catacombs after the wight attempts to grab Brandr's swords. The wight escapes with the swords while Brandr boasts that the wight can't hide from him. But then when the wight's out of sight, he quips, "Frig. I'm gonna need a horse."

** When the rebellion happens, Elsa takes out the entire mob in what can't be longer than a minute. Subverted though after she's lured into an arrow ambush and it takes her some quick thinking to take out the archers
** Elsa learns that her second eternal winter has caused Weselton and the Southern Isles to send a joint armada towards Arendelle. She grabs a few snowmen and freezes the ships in their tracks, which is enough of a warning to convince them to turn back.
* DeadpanSnarker: Anders. Since he's been [[OldRetainer in the household for decades]], Elsa lets him get away with snarking from time to time.

* DarkerAndEdgier: While not the darkest ''Frozen'' fanfic out there, it is still this compared to the movie. There's more sexual innuendo, and the villains Elsa goes up against - castle rebels, Brandr the Cryomancer Slayer, the wight, and Mary - are dark enough to make Hans look like an anti-hero.
* DescriptionCut: When Anna and Elsa find out that the peddler who was caught selling illicit Elsanna paintings is the art curator of the gallery where they want to do a double date with Kristoff and Fritz respectively, they find that the guy's also made some pretty graphic images of Elsa with Hans. The curator pleads for them not to send him to jail after Elsa contemplates giving him jail time (seeing how she only gave him a fine for the Elsanna paintings when Anna was demanding jail time), but the curator pleads, "Please, I'll do anything! Anything you want!" Cuts to Gerda looking surprised as a long line of servants haul a truckload of paintings into the castle's gallery:

* DirtyCop: The original Admiral of the Guards. He tries to get a mob to storm the castle to burn Elsa as a witch. Elsa crushes his rebellion, and is none to pleased with him. She's even more pissed to find out that he'd been plotting this rebellion practically since she was born as he is apparently prejudiced against those with magic abilities.
* DirtyOldMan: There's at least one elderly advisor who apparently makes a lot of sexist remarks about Elsa. After dealing with the second eternal winter caused by Daniel corrupting her memories, Elsa has this advisor fired and replaces him with Anders. There's another elderly advisor who tells Fritz he feels the exact same way as him about Elsa.

* {{Doorstopper}}: Roughly 350,000 words, and 82 chapters.
* DramaticWind: When the rebels try to storm the castle, the first thing Elsa does to fight back is let loose a big gust of wind to snuff out their torches.
