* ClarkesThirdLaw: Several characters in Westeros are in awe of Chief's technology due to the huge gap of advancement between their respective worlds. Numerous characters' first impression of the Pelican is that it's a flying creature (such as a dragon). Cortana is assumed to be a mythical being by the people who first meet her. Even lightbulbs have Robert commenting that Chief being considered a sorcerer is not an unreasonable assumption to make.

** The Spartan vs three Kingsguards. He knocks Meryn Trant and Boros Blount out of the fight by just pushing Trant with his ''[[FingerPokeOfDoom finger]]'', and then ''destroys'' Jaime in close quarters, bending his armor and breaking his sword. ''And he wasn't wearing the [=MJOLNIR=] armor''.
* DeliberateValuesDissonance:
** The concept of ''not'' [[RevengeBeforeReason holding grudges]] is pretty damn alien to Westerosi. The concept of [[EnemyMine bitter enemies joining forces to combat common threats]] baffles them even more than the concept that SuicideIsShameful.
** On the flipside, Chief finds the feudalistic lifestyle the people of Westeros live by is barbaric. It's noted that, while he hates in on a moral level, he's more exasperated by how monumentally inefficient the system is.

* EasyLogistics: Defy by Master Chief as he explains to Jeor Mormont the massive, difficult undertaking to fortify the Wall, even with the full backing of the Seven Kingdoms.
-->'''Master Chief:''' You have no way of knowing how strong the enemy is, to begin with. And the sheer logistics of marching an army of such a size would be monumental given the lack of sophisticated roads or uniform supply trains, to say nothing on the political and economical cooperation required to make such a military campaign possible. Even then, if somehow the massive army were to successfully mobilize, the aforementioned lack of roads will hinder the speed in which they could come from so far south. And then, if they arrive in time, you then have to help feed them, garrison them into the castles along the Wall-all but three of which I understand to be derelict-and then coordinate them if an enemy attacks. Lastly, if the free-folk march on the Wall, you will not only be expending valuable resources in beating them back, but you also risk letting them be killed and possibly brought under the control of the White Walkers.

* NeckLift: Master Chief does this to the Lord of Bones in order to make him "cooperative" after the latter couldn't stop insulting and threatening him. The Master Chief also make sure to carefully not [[NeckSnap snap]] the Wildling's neck or even ''decapitating'' him while in his [=MJOLNIR=] armor.

* NotSoDifferent: the Night's Watch and the Wildlings. As one of the black brothers tells his partner, the only difference between them is that the former are south of the Wall and the latter are north of the Wall, while both are stuck in a frozen wasteland.

* ShutUpGunshot: The Master Chief avoid doing this during the tense meeting between the Night's Watch and Wildlings as it would only worsen the situation by causing everyone to panic and ruining any chance of knowing about the White Walkers. Instead he amplifies his voice to quell any conflict between these two groups.
