--> “Oh my God,” Sirius says. “We’re going to die, aren’t we? This is your way of telling me. You don’t remember anything. Moony, listen, there’s something I’ve got to tell you before we kick it.”
--> “Disgusting,” Remus mutters. “There’s something wet — are you still dripping?”
--> “Remus, listen to me, this is very important—”
--> “Got it!” Remus grasps his wand triumphantly, holding it high above his head. “Lumos!” Weak light flutters from his fist which is, disturbingly, red and sticky. “Hallo, is that blood or cranberry juice?” He turns to face Sirius, wand wavering between them. “Well? What is it?”
--> Sirius falters, squinting. “I got chocolate on your sweater,” he says, averting his eyes. “Your favorite one. That light in front of your face makes your nose look enormous. Like a great big dolphin sticking out of your head.”

* TrademarkFavouriteFood: Chocolate for Remus.
--> Where does it come from, he pauses to wonder, this love of chocolate, this veritable obsession? Everyone has a favorite food, he supposes, something that tickles an untraceable fingerprint of personality somewhere deep inside their bellies. Chocolate is a comfort. Chocolate is the essence of luxury; silks and satins for the tongue. ''But why chocolate?'' he asks himself. ''The way you are about it — it’s lunatic, you know.''

* GenreSavvy: Remus to the horror movie being played out in part 16. Sirius has his moments, too.
--> Hunting down the missing persons is the best possible way to get them both devoured. Not to mention they’ll have to go through the corridors. If Dr. Frankenstein, for example, had just stayed in his common room and eaten crumpets, he would probably have kept a good deal of people out of a good deal of mess.

* HoYay: James and Sirius' hero-worship of the Prewett Brothers reeks of this, to the extent that Sirius seriously considered wearing a pink shirt reading 'Mrs. Fabian Prewett' in public.
** Also, the spells Dumbledore casts in part 16 to make the school act out a horror movie invokes this in the Slytherin girls.

**However, all things considered, there really is relatively little {{Gayngst}}, especially between Remus and Sirius. The story goes to great lengths to keep the plot and the characters' interactions lighthearted and funny, even when more serious aspects of the story come into play. The authors even admitted that one of the main reasons they wrote the fic was to challenge themselves to write a Remus/Sirius story with relatively little angst. Many would say they succeeded.

* CrowningMomentOfFunny: Where to begin? There's got to be at least one in every installment.
-->"Sirius said to tell you, if I saw you, that he's outside. If you're killing Snape tonight, tell him Kingsley said hello."
-->"I don't know why you'd say hello," Remus babbles. "I'd say, I'd say goodbye."
** The Importance of Being Serious!
** The bit with Sirius and Remus researching the history of Hogwarts in the library:
-->"...and ''then,'' then, they talk about the type of wood that they're going to use for twenty-six pages, after which Slytherin has this brilliant idea to build it in ''stone,'' so it won't burn ''down,'' and then they talk about what a genius he is for six pages and a half, and then Gryffindor has ''another'' feast at his castle to celebrate what a genius ''he'' is, and then there are a few ballads which are quite good but all the same when you get right down to it, and they talk about Rowena's dress for ''twelve'' pages here, and then there is a brief break to discuss the type of pie they made, and then it's back to the dress again. Apparently it was very shocking she didn't want ruffles. Or did want ruffles. I'm not entirely sure because they mentioned ruffles at the very beginning of it all, but then spent three pages on the shocking aspect. How's yours?"\\
\\
"So tired," Sirius whimpers, prone, from the floor. There is a book slung over his face. His hands are thrown out to the side, and his feet are flopped exhaustedly in opposite directions. "So very, very tired. Eh? What's that? Oh. This one's mostly genealogy. Hufflepuff's great great grandson is staring at me right now. Hello there, old chap. Lovely whiskers. Looks like he's got Peter killed and stapled under his nose."\\
\\
"Oh dear," Remus says. "I've actually killed you, haven't I?"
** The {{Beach Episode}} where James is heroically engaging in an epic battle with a jellyfish while Remus and Peter look lazily on, too lethargic to care.
-->"Nevertheless," says James, "I drink from the keg of glory!"
-->"You should probably be drinking from a keg of antiseptic," says Peter wisely.
** From one of Remus's letters to Sirius in Part 25:
-->As her face bore down upon mine I let out a strangled cry of [[RefugeInAudacity “TULIPS!”]]
-->“What?” Amelia inquired, having been thoroughly distracted by my deranged outburst. (And so you see my plan was successful after all.)
-->"OXFORD," I added. "MONKEYWRENCH. AARDVARK. [[CheckPlease CHECK PLEASE."]]
** From the Halloween incident:
-->Kingsley looks down at Frank, cradled heavy and unwieldy and strangely poky at one end between his own massive biceps. Half of the Quiddich team is watching on in bemused horror.
-->"And that," Kingsley says, "is how a Beater can save a Chaser's life midair."
-->Everyone burst into applause.
** The evil mistletoe in Part 6 creates some very amusing scenarios, most notably [[spoiler: forcing Sirius to kiss Snape.]]
* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: The dancing lilies. Part 23 in general.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: Remus teases Sirius about his seeing "draperies" in his crystal ball during divination class and jokes about his friend's future in bridal couture, to which Sirius corrects him by saying they're actually [[spoiler: ''veils'']].
** Sirius jokingly remarks that Remus will outlive all of the Marauders.
** From the Halloween installment: [[spoiler: Remus is "well aware that he is the sidekick with the books who hangs about in the back being a good influence with a posh accent and then is killed tragically just before the climax."]] Written years before the last book came out, no less.
** "Anyway, he can't work a defensive spell if his life depended on it, which it would. You know how he gets when his blood's up, all laughing and insane and hopping about talking nonsense and all of a sudden someone would hit him in the chest with a hex before the possibility even occurred to him." - From Part 25, from James about Sirius as to why Sirius shouldn't fight Death Eaters alone. Also counts as a TearJerker.
** Realizing that ''ever single named character'' except for [[NeverMessWithGranny Professor Mcgonagall]] and [[BadassBaritone Kingsley Shacklebolt]] was killed or had their lives otherwise destroyed by the Death Eaters. And there are quite a lot of named characters.

* MemeticMutation: "I do believe in commas. I do, I do."
** For this troper's friends at least, Kingsley Shacklebolt has surpassed ChuckNorris in memetic badassery. Which would win in a fight? Do you even need to ask?

* {{Tearjerker}}: [[spoiler: James's parents' funeral.]]
** Also, [[spoiler:the talk between James and Lily when James returns from his Auror training, after having been ambushed by Death Eaters and saved by Sirius. It's all at once funny and so, so heart-rending, mostly in the way that Jaida and Rave manage to flawlessly capture the amount of pure love Lily has for James and the terror that that love inspires, and in such realistic terms.]]
-->"No," Lily snaps. "We can't ''just,'' we can't just ''anything.'' I know I only have a stupid desk job, James, but I've seen what the Death Eaters can do – what they have done already! – to people. I don't want you brought in there like that. James, I ''love'' you, do you have any idea what it means?"\\
\\
"Yes," James tells her. "Actually, yes, I know exactly—"\\
\\
"You do not!" Lily's voice tears off, sudden and awful to hear. "It means that I'm terrified, I'm terrified all the time, and then when they brought Sirius in and you weren't there, what was I supposed to think?"\\
\\
"That I was making my report," James says, mouth dry. "That I was telling Dumbledore what happened."\\
\\
"That you were in seven hundred pieces somewhere. Gone. Forever." Lily stares at the ceiling, clenching her own forearm so tightly that James wants to take her hands before her nails reach bone.
