** During the Wutai arc, Julia tortures both her victims due to minor slights. Gorki, for daring to call Sephiroth a woman, is tortured until she screams, which includes cutting off both her arms and crushing her legs with Demi. Staniv breaks Julia's katana, so Julia paralyzes her [[EyeScream cuts out her eyeball and forces her to eat it]], and then mutilates her so she can bleed to death.

* BikerBabe: Julia's favorite mode of transportation is a Suzuki bike. The bike would later become a TragicKeepsake for Tseng in the final story of the trilogy, [[DeadFic ''Silent Melody'']].

Sephirothslave returned to the series to attempt to rewrite it, but gave up after only making superficial changes to the first nine chapters.

* BigBrotherInstinct: Tseng, towards his foster sister Julia. Although the author describes him as being a loving brother, he is only mildly surprised when she turns up in his class years after she was kidnapped by her biological family and is never implied to have looked for her or worried about her during all this time. This is made worse by the horrible abuse that she suffered at their hands, which could have been prevented if someone as resourceful and intelligent as Tseng would have put his mind to finding her.
* BigBrotherWorship: Julia loves Tseng and regards the time spent in his company as the happiest years of her life. She is overjoyed to have found him again by accident in Midgar, but forgets to visit him after class the very first day they meet again, in spite of his request. They are not shown to be particularly close, especially in Shinra High, and Julia makes no effort to spend time with him.

** Her military uniform could count as this: it is described as a single piece, custom made leather bodysuit. One of the sporkers of the story pointed out how impractical such an outfit would be not only for bad weather, but also for normal everyday actions like going to the toilet, because the bodysuit has to be removed almost entirely every single time.

* DrivesLikeCrazy: Sephiroth.

* ButtMonkey: Cloud, Aerith and occasionally Reno.

* PaletteSwap: Korokou Nihau, a secondary character created by Sephirothslave, is (by the author's own admission) a blond Zack.

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: Sephiroth in particular, will overreact to any affront to Julia, while ignoring if the same thing happens to somebody he doesn't know. The epitome of this comes from when he hears a report of victim getting beaten to near death while walking home at night through a dark alley. He considers it the victim's fault for being dumb enough to walk through a bad part of town, but upon finding out that it was Julia, chews out Laura for saying the exact thing he was thinking a moment ago.
* PsychoSerum: Jenova cells let Jenova possess Sephiroth, and make him try to kill his wife.

* SecondLove: Sephiroth initially begins dating and falls in love with [[AllGuysWantCheerleaders Laura Summers]], but after he catches her cheating on him, he breaks up with her and begins a relationship with Julia, whom he will end up marrying.

* SuddenNameChange: When first mentioned, the empress of Wutai was called Shantaina. During the Wutai arc, however, her name inexplicably changes to Keara.

* TimeSkip: In Shinra SOLDIER, after the Challenges are over and Sephiroth and Julia become the rulers of the army, there is a time skip of five years.

* WeUsedToBeFriends: Sephiroth and Julia used to be friends with Yuffie, but during the Wutai arc Sephiroth ends up brutally murdering Yuffie's mother in front of her, as retaliation for Julia's (apparent) death. This leaves Yuffie broken and devastated. Sephiroth and Julia, on the other hand, never think about her again after the war is over.

* WomanInBlack: Julia Nakahamou.

* AuthorAppeal: Sephirothslave's protagonists have the same interests and dislikes as herself, and many of the events that happen to her main character Julia are filled with wishfulfillment.

* CatharsisFactor: The author admitted that writing the story was a way of venting her hatred of her parents and of characters such as Hojo and Jenova.
