*** After the Crusaders tell Twilight about what they did, she decides to speak to the recently revived Ravenclaw about how she originally died. This leads to the discovery of the Chamber of Secrets, the capture of the basilisk which Princess Luna [[DraggedOffToHell sends to Tartarus]], Pinkie Pie inadvertently revealing the nature of The Dark Mark being able to track down hiding Death Eaters, and Hagrid being exonerated of Tom Riddles' crime.

** Due to being cleared of Tom Riddles' FrameUp, Hagrid is given a new wand and makes a fortune selling Acromantula silk from Aragog to the Equestrians. The CMC propose he get his own bank vault at Gringotts and use his newfound wealth to become a role model for halfbreeds and giants everywhere.

* TheUnmasquedWorld: Downplayed; while magic is slowly being introduced to the Muggle world via Equestria, the official policy of the Muggle British government is to publicly refer to it as "[[ClarksThirdLaw alien technology]]" while they ease the public into accepting the concept. Only a handful of people in the Muggle government have learned about the Wizarding World so far, though what they do know is quite substantial.

** Many Squibs, who lack magical powers entirely, and Muggleborns, who are frequently discriminated against by older wizarding families, find Equestria incredibly enticing due to the absence of [[FantasticCasteSystem the Blood Status system]] and the former group being automatically transformed into Pegasi when crossing the Portal. Additionally, Equestria ''wants'' them to stat careers there due to wanting to open new schools of magic [[OnlyYouCanRepopulateMyRace and replenish the Pegasus population]] following Tirek's rampage. [[spoiler:Argus Filch spends Summer 1992 in Equestria working a temporary job where he's courted by several mares who see him as [[SilverFox a gracefully aged piece of eye-candy]] and is so reluctant to return to Hogwarts, Dumbledore has to give him a pay raise and a pair of assistants until he's allowed to retire.]]

* AlternateTechline: The technology levels and magical understandings of the Wizarding World and Equestria are contrasted in the story to be about as different as The Dark Ages are from The Industrial Revolution respectively. The Statute of Secrecy has caused innovation in Wizarding magic to stagnate due to lack of interaction with Muggles, with wizards often continuing to use unconventional magical solutions as long as they work without trying to improve them. Meanwhile, Equestria's understanding of magic and worldwide acceptance of its principles has led to ponies viewing magic as another kind of science to study and improve upon. This is best seen with both societies' approaches to instantly transporting people across large distances: Wizarding Apparition has a strict age limit for even attempting to learn the technique due to it frequently causing TeleportationSickness and [[TeleFrag Splinching]] being a consequence of not giving it one's full attention, while the Equestrian teleportation spell is well-researched and has safeguards in place to prevent serious harm befalling the user, allowing even untrained magic users to use it given proper instructions and tools.
** That being said, the Wizarding World has made some inovations that Equestria hasn't, such as [[BiggerOnTheInside exapnsion charms]], the Floo Network, animated portraits, and various cambat based spells (the guard are especially enamored by the leg-locking spell, seeing it as a good way to incapacitate suspects).
** Also worth mentioning is the techline between Equestria and the Muggle World, mostly owing to the latter having magic and latter not. Notable comparisons are between medicing (Humanity has a better understanding of viruses and pathogens, while Equestria has managed to near completely lick cancer and can regrow lost limbs), weapons (Equestria still uses arrows while Humanity has guns and bombs), and transportation (Equestria's most advanced land vehicle is the steam engine, and when a third of your population is capable of powered flight, there's not much need for anyhting more advanced than an airship).

* ReadingAheadInTheScript: [[spoiler:After Sunset reveals how Harry'slife is a work of fiction in her world, Twilight uses the information from the books and movies to try and avert as many of the misfortunes they depict as possible, such as exposing the Crouches, and preventing Frank Bryce's death]].

** Princesses Celestia and Luna quickly become fond of human cuisine (minus the meat, of course).

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler: The fragment of Tom Riddle possessing Gregory Goyle plans on finishing the soul-draining ritual on the young Slytherin to create a body of his own, at which point Tom plans on disposing of Goyle afterwards.]]

* RagsToRiches: Since coming into contact with the Equestrians, The Weasley Family are slowly becoming more and more wealthier through a confluence of Fred and Georges' prank candies made with Sweetie Belle gaining popularity on both worlds, Ron digging up Gemstones in Equestria to resell them on Earth, the welcoming generosity of Rarity through gifts for the students. And Discord turning almost all of the family (sans Arthur Weasley) into Pony Animagi.

* SparedByAdaptation: A few examples happen in the story.

** Harry gains a better grasp on Magic along with learning of several spells after spending a year in Equestria before attending Hogwarts, along with getting a wand made from Celestia and Lunas' hair.

** Ron and his immediate family are granted various types of Equestrian Ponies as Animagus forms before attending Hogwarts. The Weasleys also become wealthy due to their close relations with the Equestrian nobility, which by the time of the second book is putting them on-track to earning a seat on the Wizengamot
** The Gryffindor Quidditch team as a whole gain Animagus forms of Equestrian Pegasi, which sharpens their eyesight and reaction times.

* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: Much like with the William Shakespeare example in Book I, Book II reveals that Creator/BramStoker was a Half-Blood and that he used LoopholeAbuse to spread the story of Count Dracula of Wallachia to the Muggle World without actually revealing the existence of the Wizarding World by publishing it as a work of fiction. The term ''[[TheRenfield Renfield]]'' was later appropriated by the Ministry of Magic to refer to individuals underneath the influence of Vampires.

* LoopholeAbuse: The Second group of Equestrian students seem determined to become [[RulesLawyer Rules Lawyers]] with their shenanigans.
** Chapter 12 gives us this pretzeled rule:
--> There’s no way the pegasi wouldn’t fly up to the ceiling and look around. And the unicorns would want a much closer look at the interplay between the spells on the ceiling and those on the support beams below them. Using a spell, instead of flying, satisfied their curiosity and didn’t break the rules. No professor had ever forbidden the use of levitation spells to move the platters of food on the tables.
** In chapter 13, some pegasi are upset that '(s)omeone had apparently been giving a long, snooty diatribe about how “inferior” ponies were to people in regards to magic.' Cue pegasus weather manipulation abilities and resulting related shenanigans.
--> The professors were not amused.
--> "No using spells in the corridors!" scolded Professor [=McGonagall=], first on the scene.
--> "I wasn’t using a spell," said Cloud Dancer self-righteously, offended at the suggestion she had somehow cheated. "I was cloud-walking!" she said with a virtuous indignation.
--> This necessitated a demonstration.

* PoorCommunicationKills: While nobody or nopony is killed; the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, the Floo Network Authority, the Magical Oversight Department branches of the Ministry of Magic, ''and'' many of the shops and businesses within Diagon Alley all were made aware of the presence of the Equestrians as wizards and witches living in Little Whinging; but didn't bother to report this bit of information to their superiors, to other departments, or up the chain-of-command to Cornelius Fudge.
--> knowing they were on the Floo-network made Twilight wonder why (The Floo-Network Authority) hadn’t informed (the Magical Oversight Department) of the presence of wizards and witches in this location. Was the ministry truly that incompetent? Or was this merely an example of something falling through the inevitable cracks in communication that bedevilled every government?

* TheDogBitesBack: Dozens of disillusioned and mistreated Muggleborns who have joined the muggle military willingly help the muggle government keep an eye on the wizards and witches. [[spoiler:Reaches a boiling point several chapters later when Dolores Umbridge tries to start an international incident by an attempting to capture Equestrias' Ambassador Prince Blueblood.]]

** [[BadassNormal Muggle Prime Minister John Major]] and the British Government becomes this thanks to the Equestrians providing them with both the means to develop Magitek capable of regrowing lost limbs and curing Cancer, along with allowing for the Muggleborn officers in their ranks to finally cut loose with their Magic. [[spoiler:Near the end of ''Book I''; they manage to capture Cornelius Fudge and Dolores Umbridge; the two most powerful members of the Ministry of Magic, before they tried to start an interplanetary incident through capturing the Equestrian Ambassador in John's own office.]]

** Dolores Umbridge, in the first book, tries to manipulate Minister Fudge into taking Ambassador Blueblood hostage (believing that he's as smart as a wizarding world unicorn), liquidate the Equestrians' dealings with the UK government, and take all of Equestria's funds for the ministry. This plan fails spectacularly thanks to anti-magic charms installed throughout Major's office, leaving Fudge and Umbridge trapped and helpless, with only Dumbledore's interference preventing them from being imprisoned. In the second book, Umbridge (due to the efforts of Sirius and Anne [[spoiler: Starlight Glimmer in disguise]]), is finally exposed for her manipulation, deception, and bribery, losing her job, power, and prestige while gaining a prison sentence.

** After Rita Skeeter is released from detainment for trying to sneak into Equestria, she writes one of her usual libelous articles attempting to stir up trouble for the Equestrian. Her article encourages Umbridge and Fudge to try asserting the superiority of wizards to the Equestrians and the Muggle government. After Umbridge's argument is [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech torn to shreds by Ambassador Blueblood]], she commits treason against the United Kingdom by attempting to attack Blueblood and Prime Minister John Major... [[DidntThinkThisThrough while inside of Major's office]]. Thanks to new magical security in the Prime Minister's office, every magic user in the room not loyal to either Equestria or the Queen are stunned and left at the mercy of the Prime Minister. Though Dumbledore manages to break free of the Stunning Spell, he's held at both wand- ''and'' gunpoint, ensuring that the Prime Minister and Ambassador Blueblood maintain total control of the situation.

** Peter Pettigrew is discovered early after Scabbers is brought through the Portal and Pettigrew is transformed into a pony out of his Animagus form. Due to the only crime he's guilty of in Equestria being his status as an illegal alien, he serves out his sentence there and agrees to work with the country to track down any Death Eaters that may have evaded custody.
