* MortalityEnsues: This is the effect of the Dragonrend shout. It forces the target to acknowledge the concept of mortality and dragons, being immortal, cannot comprehend having a finite existence, causing them to be stricken for a time. The effect also applies to other ageless beings like vampires and daedra.

** Colin finds idea of bowing to those that are supposedly higher of greater authority than him more than a little irritating. In Skyrim, nobody has such a servile attitude, especially Nords. In fact, Colin would likely find such a demand even more aggravating than a regular Nord, since he's got the soul of a dragon in him. Dragons. Don't. Bow.

* DeliberateValuesDissonance: In Colin's world, dragons are not friendly. They are cruel, destructive and want nothing more than to dominate those they deem lesser (IE, everyone not a dragon); even those who are not overtly hostile still feel the urge to conquer and destroy. As such the Dragonborn, who can kill them permanently is regarded as a near-godlike figure. In the Inheritance world, dragons are considered almost holy and so Colin's nature is initially regarded as abominable, particularly to Arya.

One of the few good Inheritance Cycle crossovers, Dragons combines the lore of the Elder Scrolls with the host setting practically seamlessly. Certain characters from both franchises are explored further than they were in canon and the Dragonborn is portrayed in quite a good, three dimensional way. He's powerful, but not to the point of rendering everyone else around him irrelevant, and more importantly the author gives legitimate, in text reasons why he's not some overpowered curb-stomping machine.
