* FutureBadass: As the story shows, Jaune Arc ends up becoming a world-renowned hero that brought about a revolution that changed the world for the better. Not that he was even trying to do so.
* FutureLoser: In comparison to Jaune's FutureBadass, it is shown through the snippets of future history works at the beginning of each chapter that the Schnee family end up falling from grace to the point of vilification, with at least one future movie showing Winter as a hideous over-the-top villainous hag. How much of this is true and how much is simply the result of history being told by the victors is up for debate, but it is safe to say that none of the Schnee are seen with much respect in the future.
* GambitPileup: It is revealed late in the story that there are a number of gambits happening at once, from Ozpin's faction and Salem's faction in their canonical conflict, Adam's White Fang faction's movements, Cinder's attempts to gain power, politicians in Vale working to try and have Jaune in their corner, and [[spoiler:most of the Arc sisters planning a revolution where the Huntsmen rule the world]]. If the prologue and future history snippets are any indication, the only ones who come out on top in the future are Jaune Arc and his faction.

* HiveMind: [[spoiler:The Pennys work this way. Penny Polendina receives vague memories of the Penny with Jaune, though she dismisses them.]]

* NotWhatItLooksLike: When Emerald finds herself in the middle of Jaune's followers, she is caught with her hand on his ass. She was trying to pick-pocket him and didn't realize where she was until it was too late, and her accidentally squeezing didn't really help her case.

* TheCommissionerGordon: An in-universe version of this is found in Jade Gordon of the VPD.

* EntertaininglyWrong: A lot of people end up thinking that Jaune is some sort of master tactician and fighter, while the truth is that he's only earned this reputation primarily through sheer dumb luck.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Since the fic was written before Volume 5, Raven lacks her canonical DirtyCoward personality and still cares about her brother enough to [[spoiler:rescue him from being killed by Kestrel Winchester.]]
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Canon Raven and Qrow hold not love for each other and do not consider each other family. ''Arc of the Revolution'' Raven and Qrow still consider each other family and [[spoiler:she saves him from being executed by Kestrel.]]

* LogicalWeakness: Neo's illusions work on the principle of using mirrors to refract light in the way she wants. While she's good enough to even turn invisible by careful reflection of her background, it's all directed in one angle- towards her opponent. If her opponent has a secondary point of view that she doesn't know about ([[spoiler: like Penny looking through security cameras]]), then she can't fool them.

* UnfortunateNames: Since Jaune doesn't go to Beacon and his place is taken by an OriginalCharacter named Olivine, team JNPR is instead team PORN. It's supposed to be pronounced 'Porcelain', but the lack of a 'c' and an 'l' isn't doing it any favors.

Added DiffLines:

* AdaptationalVillainy: Ozpin is not a mustache-twirling villain, but he is much more morally questionable when compared to the BigGood Ozpin of canon. He values people based on their usefulness to his goal to defeat Salem and will eliminate them if they become a liability or threaten humanity. For example, he casually talks about [[DeadlyEuphemism removing]] a Council member if they [[spoiler:have anything to do with Qrow's disappearance.]]
* AncestralWeapon: Crocea Mors is a symbol of the Arc family which has been passed down for generations. [[spoiler:Seeing "Summer" (actually Jaune) wield it to defend White Fang members makes Ozpin and Taiyang wonder if she and the Arcs have allied with them.]]

Added DiffLines:

* GoodIsNotNice: [[BigGood Ozpin]] is willing to [[DeadlyEuphemism remove]] members of the Council if they are responsible for [[spoiler:Qrow's disappearance]] or are working with Salem. He also says [[WeHaveReserves another useful party can easily be raised in their place]]. He goes on to say the fate of humanity is in their hands and they have no time for hesitation or mistakes.

* DiscriminateAndSwitch: As the White Fang makes to attack an Atlas facility, Winter comments the animals are coming and story switches to Winter's POV about defending the camp from the "animals" who need to be eradicated. exterminated. She's ''actually'' talking about Grimm, not a Grimm attack that happened at the Faunus.same time, and later comments that she doesn't hate the Faunus and acknowledges that they have every reason to hate the Schnee Dust Company.

* [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Nice Job Breaking It,]] HeroAntagonist: Winter fires on a transport that claims to contain Atlesian soldiers, because she thinks it's actually the White Fang. Nope, Jaune protected the surviving guards and they were indeed evacuating on that aircraft. The propaganda fallout is terrible, and Winter is horrified when she learns the truth.

''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11741731/1 Arc of the Revolution]]'' is a ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' fanfic by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/2327383/Aleadrex Aleadrex]].

Jaune Arc only wanted to become a Huntsman. Instead he becomes the unwitting leader of a revolution and [[HowWeGotHere eventually takes over Vale]]. Accidental badassery and HilarityEnsues.

''Arc of the Revolution'' was last updated on December 23, 2016, making it a DeadFic.
----
!!Tropes:
* AchievementsInIgnorance: Jaune manages to impress Cinder with his feats of taking control of the White Fang and all of Vale before she could. That just makes him a bigger target that must be eliminated at all costs.
* BecomingTheMask: Jaune slowly and often unintentionally takes steps to become the magnificent revolutionary leader everyone believes him to be. He takes control of the Fang members at the hospital and, by using his strategies, they manage to defeat [[spoiler:Qrow Branwen]].
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:Raven arrives and saves Qrow from being executed by Kestrel Winchester.]]
* ButtMonkey: Expect Jaune to be thrown around and humiliated during fights, like the one where he [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything awkwardly]] fights a Paladin. [[PlayedForLaughs Of course]], other characters mistake his flailing for master plans or aren't around to see him humiliate himself.
* DeadFic: Unfortunately, the story has not been updated since December 2016.
* DiscriminateAndSwitch: As the White Fang makes to attack an Atlas facility, Winter comments the animals are coming and need to be eradicated. She's talking about Grimm, not the Faunus.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: PlayedForLaughs. Jaune's sword gets stuck in an [[GroinAttack awkward place]] on the Paladin, leaving him yelping and grunting as it thrusts him about.
* FakingAmnesia: Emerald pretends to have lost her memory so no one will question her about Cinder's plans.
* HiveMind: [[spoiler:The Pennys work this way. Penny Polendina receives vague memories of the Penny with Jaune, though she dismisses them.]]
* HowWeGotHere: The first chapter shows that Jaune, Adam, and the White Fang have defeated Ozpin and taken over Vale. The rest of the story explores how Jaune reached that point.
* MistakenForBadass: The world believes Jaune is an invincible Chessmaster who is fighting to overthrow a corrupt world order. Some of "his" feats include summoning lightning to scare off Cinder, successfully invading an Atlas facility and fighting off Winter Schnee, and defeating [[spoiler:Qrow Branwen]].
* MistakenIdentity: Thanks to a combination of factors like Neo's illusions and [[spoiler:a white cloak]], Qrow, Taiyang, Ozpin and their compatriots believe [[spoiler:Jaune is a disguised Summer Rose.]]
* RedBaron: Qrow is known as the Left Hand, the Scarecrow, the Scythe of the South, the Scythe of Ozpin, and Ozpin's Executioner.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Jaune unintentionally prevents Amber from running into Cinder's ambush. Things spiral out of control from there.
* UnfortunateCharacterDesign: InUniverse. The New Fang’s emblem is meant to look like a horse but looks like a donkey instead.
