Felix Hervè Talbot Bowness, (30 March 1922 -- 13 September 2009), was a British actor best known for playing Fred Quilley in ''Series/HiDeHi''.

After UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, he began to act on stage before migrating to films and TV in the early '60s, while working as a warm-up act for studio recordings of many television programs from ''Home to Roost'' to ''Series/NoelsHouseParty''.

He came to fame when he was cast as Fred Quilley in ''Hi-de-Hi!'' and appeared with the same ensemble cast in recurring roles in ''Series/YouRangMLord'' and ''Series/OhDoctorBeeching''.

While he didn't have many cinematic roles, he appeared in the soft-porn film ''Queen of the Blues'' in 1979.

In 2003, he retired from acting after he was diagnosed with dementia.

He died of cancer at the age of 87.
