Christopher Mitchell, born Christopher Mitchell Driver, (21 May 1948 -- 22 February 2001), was a British actor best known for playing Gunner Parkin in ''Series/ItAintHalfHotMum''. He was the son of British character actor Norman Mitchell.

He was a regular in {{Awful British Sex Comed|y}}ies, including ''Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush'', ''A Promise of Bed'', and ''The Sex Thief'', and starred in ''What's Up Superdoc!'', [[TheOtherDarrin taking over the role]] of Dr. Robert Todd from Nicholas Field, who had previously played him in ''What's Up Nurse!''.

In 1974, he was cast as Gunner Parkin in ''It Aint Half Hot, Mum'', and was involved in one of the series' central storylines; that Gunner Parkin was the bastard son of [[DrillSergeantNasty Sergeant Major Williams]]. During his time in the series, he also made guest appearances in ''Series/ComeBackMrsNoah'', ''You're Only Young Twice'', and ''Series/{{Crossroads}}''.

Once ''Half Hot, Mum'' wrapped up in 1981, his acting began to slow down. He played small recurring roles ''Series/OnlyFoolsAndHorses'' and ''Never the Twain'', but it wasn't enough. He made his final TV appearance in a 1991 episode of ''Series/{{Minder}}'', after this he developed a serious drinking problem.

He died of cancer at the age of 52, a month before his father died.
