DespairEventHorizon: Nightcrawler seems to have crossed it.

* {{Retcon}}: The Terrigen Mists sterilising mutants is a new plot point. Previously, terrigen crystals sort-of damaged ex-mutants who used it, but that's about it. In ''Uncanny X-Men'', a team of mutants walk through the same t-cloud rolling around Earth with no ill effects.

After [[Comicbook/SecretWars2015 Secret Wars]] ends, the entire Franchise/MarvelUniverse does a TimeSkip to eight months later. During that time period, something happens between the X-Men and Comicbook/TheInhumans which leads to mutantkind being more endangered than before; namely the terrigen cloud drifting across Earth waking up latent Inhumans' powers having a terrible effect on mutants. Some of the X-Men have left the team and leader Comicbook/{{Cyclops}} is nowhere to be found. During this trying time, Comicbook/{{Storm}} assembles a team consisting of Colossus, Nightcrawler, Iceman, Comicbook/JeanGrey ([[ComicBook/AllNewXMen the teenage Jean Grey displaced from the past]]), [[ComicBook/IllyanaRasputin Magik]], and ComicBook/OldManLogan who's been displaced from his universe.

* CatchPhrase: Storm starts using Professor X's old one "To me, my X-Men".

The series is written by Creator/JeffLemire (of ComicBook/AnimalMan fame) and penciled by Humberto Ramos. The series is now the new flagship ''Comicbook/XMen'' title, replacing ''Comicbook/UncannyXMen'' after 60 years.

This is despite the strides made since the Comicbook/AvengersVsXMen event where mutants were brought BackFromTheBrink, and both All-New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men showed the hate towards them has cooled.
