In 2015, Marvel announced a new ''Squadron Supreme'' series following ''ComicBook/SecretWars2015'', taking place in the normal Marvel Universe, featuring versions of the Squadron's members from universes that had been destroyed in the events around ''Secret Wars''.

* LargeHam: Master Menace is one part Doctor Doom, one part [[{{Superman}} Lex Luthor]], and all parts HAM.

* [[spoiler: MindRape: Golden Archer uses the behavior modification machine on Lady Lark after the course of her affections has passed to make her stay attached to him.]]

* SpiritualSuccessor: The 2015 series is partially this to ComicBook/TheAuthority, with the members deciding to take a brutal and proactive approach to dealing with threats. [[spoiler: Their first target is Atlantis and Namor, which they pretty much destroy and kill respectively]].

* WeWillHavePerfectHealthInTheFuture: Invoked by the Panacea Potion, the Scarlet Centurion's 40th century cure-all.

The former gets sick to fighting good people, and being led by a guy who won't even let in his plans. The others feel the same way, and they disband, going their separate ways]].

After Nighthawk attempted to immobilize him, it seemed that the darts that he fired at him had actually shut him down permanently - killing him. It turns out that it only changed his powers, leading him the ability to emit radiation, but not burst into flame - making him more of a "Human Reactor".

** Nighthawk. He has a number of contingency plans pre-made with the Blur which he can signal using his eye blinks.

In fact, Blue Marvel was so CrazyPrepared that if tipped Nighthawk that it may not be from Blue Marvel's foresight, and rather the [[Comicbook/CivilWarII precognition of someone]].
* DistaffCounterpart: Doctor Spectrum (of Earth-4290001). On her Earth, she was a deep sea diver who discovered an object of magical significance in a deep sea trench, which transformed her into a being of pure magic.
* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:Dr. Druid]]. Everyone always thought he was a self important asshole, but this combined with [[spoiler:his reputation as the worst Avenger, and the general disrespect his former teammates had for him after his death lead to him taking over Weirdworld as a cruel tyrant]]
* GoodCounterpart: After Zarda was exposed as [[spoiler:Warrior Woman]], a flashback revealed that she took the place of the original Power Princess as the latter escaped the Incursion on Earth-S. [[spoiler: Warrior Woman killed her by absorbing her lifeforce to get across Earth-616. Or so she thought]].
* HorrorHunger: Power Princess, who must drain the life and youth of her bedmates in order to stay young and vital. [[spoiler:It's the first clue that she is not who she appears to be]].
* ItsPersonal:
** The Squadron's assault on Atlantis, due to Namor being responsible for the destruction of their separate worlds. [[spoiler:It ends with Namor's execution]].
** Naturally, those who were allied with Namor in his early years, eg. Jim Hammond (the first Human Torch) and his former sidekick Thomas Raymond aka "Toro" aren't pleased to learn of a group calling themselves heroes after [[spoiler:killing their old friend]] and individually move to stop them.

* LetsYouAndHimFight: Nearly every issue so far thanks to their WellIntentionedExtremist tendencies. They eventually lampshade it, and acknowledge how counterproductive it is.
* MegaCorp: Nighthawk / Kyle Richmond manages to buy out Oracle Inc. Interestingly, he heads it under an alias - [[SignificantAnagram Raymond Kane]], and creates shell corporations for the expressed purpose of busting the heads of aliens preparing for an invasion of Earth by different parties.
* MirrorMatch: Nighthawk vs Nighthawk. Subverted, as one is a BadassNormal ScienceHero, while the other has flight powers by night. [[spoiler:The latter is also revealed to be a Skrull]].
* TheMole: [[spoiler:Power Princess, who was actually Warrior Woman of the Squadron Sinister]].
* NeverTheSelvesShallMeet: Hyperion and Doctor Spectrum get sent back in time at one point and [[OurTimeTravelIsDifferent the process]] renders them intangible in any point in history they already exist. Not unlike how it worked in Silver Age DC.
* PetTheDog: Hyperion, upon learning that his favorite coffee shop has changed brands to the employees' chagrin, flies to the source and brings back fresh beans.
* PretenderDiss: As Jim Hammond confronts the Squadron for a second time, he gives Nighthawk a KirkSummation that, among other things, points out hawks aren't even nocturnal hunters like [[ShoutOut bats or owls]].
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Towards Namor, who condemned all of the new Squadron's worlds to permanent oblivion during the incursions. [[spoiler:The Squadron destroys Atlantis, Hyperion decapitates Namor, and Doctor Spectrum uses his head as a soccer ball]].
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: After getting caught in Doctor Doom's time machine during the assault on the Baxter Building, Hyperion and Doctor Spectrum are thrown back into the time period leading up to [[spoiler:Namor's death. They successfully prevent his execution taking place, form an uneasy alliance with Namor, and they return to the present. It's implied that had they not, their future would've led to [[Comicbook/CivilWarII the Civil War escalating]] [[BreakingTheFellowship and even their team divided into factions]]]].
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: The argument between the Squadron Supreme and [[ComicBook/UncannyAvengers the Unity Squad]].
* SixthRanger: Thundra, who joins the team after they save Weird World from Doctor Druid.
* SoleSurvivor: An entire team of these from different universes collapsed by the Incursions. {{Invoked|Trope}} by [[spoiler:Warrior Woman]] who massacred the other survivors in a bid to escape her world.
* UnrequitedLove: Going by her inner monologue, Thundra [[AllAmazonsWantHercules seems to have a burgeoning attraction]] to Hyperion.
* WalkingTheEarth: Hyperion, who on the advice from a diner patron takes a job as a semi-truck driver in order to meet and understand the people of the new Earth that is under his protection.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Doubling as a MythologyGag, but Hyperion is vulnerable to magic, something which places him in quite a pickle when the Squadron Supreme is dropped in Weird World.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: As ever with the Squadron. As all of the members are the SoleSurvivor of their respective worlds, they have determined that ''this'' Earth will be protected at any cost, even if they have to fight the Avengers to do so.
* WhiteAndGreyMorality: The Squadron Supreme mean well, but their extreme methods have come into conflict with other heroes a few times too many, something that they acknowledge. Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch regards them as fanatical, perhaps even somewhat deluded, [[spoiler:particularly after they killed his old friend Namor]].
* VillainTeamUp: [[spoiler: Warrior Woman and Modred the Mystic]].

* MasterOfIllusion: Moonglow, and Arcanna to a lesser degree. Moonglow appears to have numerous magic abilities like Arcanna, but they're all illusions. Arcanna sometimes uses her spell to change her appearance, most notably [[spoiler:during her pregnancy.]]

* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: When capturing former members of the Institute of Evil to be de-brainwashed, Nighthawk and his cohorts are discovered by Blue Eagle. Master Menace says the choice is clear: if they don't want to lose the element of surprise over the Squadron, they have to brainwash the Eagle, too. Nighthawk doesn't want to, and Menace says that Nighthawk doesn't need to dirty his hands and ''he'll'' do it. Nighthawk realizes that if he really believes it has to be done then he should be the one to do it, and not hide from the responsibility, so he does.

''Squadron Supreme'' came into its own in Mark Gruenwald's 1985 limited series. It takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth; flashbacks reveal that the Squadron Supreme was dominated by the alien Overmind, who used them to turn the United States into a fascist nation and conquer the planet. After the defeat of the Overmind, the Squadron decide that the best and fastest way to repair the shattered infrastructure, quell civil unrest, and restore people's faith is to take control of the world and get it back on track. The Squadron also decide to take the opportunity to address ''all'' of the world's problems, vowing to eliminate hunger, crime, war, poverty, and disease. With little resistance, the Squadron appear on national television and announce their "Utopia Program", promising to return control after a year.

* AnyoneCanDie: This series has a surprisingly high body count for a Marvel comic at the time. Also surprising for a Marvel is the fact that people [[DeadForReal stay dead]].
