* ForgottenFriendNewFoe: He might've considered Yugami a friend when they were kids, but this certainly wasn't the case with the latter. When Hayashiyama is introduced as Amagi's pitcher, he clearly dislikes Yugami, but it doesn't last long as he remembers he used to be on better terms with him.

While he comes across as somewhat snide, Yugami is extremely honest and staunch in his principles and morals -- almost to a fault.

TheHeroine and TheNarrator of the story. Chihiro is a NewTransferStudent at Kamihoshi. The first person she meets at school is Yugami, whom she ends up sitting next to in class. Despite being warned of his eccentricity, Chihiro ends up talking to Yugami rather often.
