* TheAce: She's the archetypal school paragon, gifted magically, physically, academically, and highly respected for her pressence and beauty. She is, however, massively insecure about her dark secret... until another shoujo fan comes to the underworld.
* {{Adorkable}}: While to the public she maintains the image of a perfect representative of what demons should strive to be like, when by herself or with Iruma, she shows herself to be an absolute dork who obsesses over a romance manga, with her interactions with Iruma in particular having her act incredibly awkward as she tries to get closer to him, with the awkwardness increasing as she develops genuine feelings for him.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: She was able to deduce that Iruma was a human just by a few crazy actions that happened around him, and by that point she still hadn't met him face to face, all was just word of mouth.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Like his daughter, he correctly guessed Iruma is human based on the report on how Sulivan went to the human world. Despite this, after Ameri interupted his conversation with Iruma when she called him a "outstanding Demon" he could tell his daughter was trying to tell him that he's in no danger and is doing fine in school.

!Main Characters
[[folder: Iruma Suzuki]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/AyumuMurase (Japanese), Laura Stahl (English)
[[quoteright:325:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iruma_suzuki.png]]
The protagonist whose parents sold his soul to a devil named Sullivan. He now lives as the latter's adopted grandson and attends a demon school while trying to keep hidden that he is human.
----
* AbusiveParents: Selling your child's soul to the devil has to set some kind of record. Even before that, they expected him to be able to do everything on his own once he learned to walk. His own father used him as fishing bait, he was left on his own in front of a savage bear, and at one point he had to flee from the yakuza for something they did. It's telling that his quality of life improves dramatically once he gets sent to ''Hell'' of all places. This exchange after Sullivan takes him perfectly sums up how terrible they are:
-->'''Sullivan''': Your parents sold you to me for money.\\
'''Iruma''': My parents would never... ''[{{Beat}}]'' Never mind my parents would have definitely done that.
* AccidentalPervert: Ameri walked in on him in drag on multiple occasions. Even though he claimed it's NotWhatItLooksLike, she had nightmares about it for about a week.
* AllLovingHero: He feels kindness and sincerity towards everybody he meets, always doing his best to help others no matter who they are, with even situations where people do something evil like [[spoiler:Kiriwo Amy's attempt to blow up the school]] getting little more than disappointment and hope that the perpetrator can eventually become a better person.
* AttractiveBentGender: After Kurori passed out from overexertion, he and his friends temporarily acted as akudols until she woke up. Several demon guys found him very cute and attractive dressed up as a girl.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: He's shown to be very good in analyzing students and situations. This is most evident in the "Royal Ones" arc.
* BadassAdorable: He's an adorable dorky NiceGuy who's always open to helping others and absolutely cherishes the family and friends he's gained in the netherworld, even those that act antagonistic towards him. He's also almost untouchable due to his reflexes, along with having a great deal of potential power thanks to his magic-eating ring, with him having solved many crises that nobody besides his adoptive grandfather, one of the three strongest demons in the netherworld, could've done anything about.
* BadassOnPaper: The accomplishments that got him his ever-growing in-universe reputation as a colossal badass are very real, but you'd never guess it from looking at him.
* BigEater: Iruma is capable of eating even the most impossibly large amount of food, like it was nothing. No wonder he got a magic ring associated with ''Gluttony''.
* BookDumb: He has difficulty understanding the questions on his tests. Because of this he actually scores ''lower'' than Clara. Though this is pretty justified since he’s a human in a '''demon''' school, and even disregarding that, he never got a chance at formal education in the human world anyway.
* ButtMonkey: Poor, poor Iruma. When he was a toddler, he was used as fishing bait by his father. Even after gaining SuperReflexes from having to survive comically depraved levels of ParentalNeglect, he takes the brunt of the story's verbal and physical slapstick.
* CharacterDevelopment: For a good part of the early story, he didn't really have much character to him beyond being a nice guy with a horrible childhood, which he actually gets called out on by Ameri. He starts developing a backbone and personal ambitions as time goes on.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Iruma's uncanny ability to dodge any and all harm coming at him. He gained this after so many close calls with death working the countless jobs his worthless parents dumped onto him.
* TheChessmaster: [[spoiler: During his "Evil Phase", he single handedly maneuvers his classmates into using their skills to get the signatures needed to have his class transferred to the King's Classroom.]]
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: He and Asmodeus both serve as this for Clara.
* CluelessChickMagnet: Ameri completely fell for him, Clara gets confused feelings about him at times, Kurori has taken to occasionally blushing around him, Eiko keeps stalking him to try and talk, and several other girls in the school have considered him cute. However, so far he seems completely oblivious to all of this, with this possibly being due to the fact he had no life outside working for his parents whims before coming to the netherworld, leaving him completely unprepared for noticing, let alone dealing with, romance.
* CoatCape: [[spoiler: Wore his coat like this during his Wicked Phase.]]
* CovertPervert: Ameri thinks he is one due to how she keeps accidentally stumbling upon him in a frilly outfit. [[spoiler:Given how much of a lady-killer he is during his "evil phase", she might actually be on to something with "normal" Iruma, but in a RightForTheWrongReasons way]]
* {{Expy}}: He has some very noticeable similarities to [[Manga/HayateTheCombatButler Hayate]]. His anime design is also noted to be comparable to [[Manga/MyHeroAcademia Izuku "Deku" Midoriya]], especially his face and eyes, sans freckles.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Right from the start he already had some decent skills, such as incredible reflexes and high capacity for completing anything people asked of him. Then he acquired his ring, which gave him the power to absorb and use magic, allowing him to be a legitimate badass in his own right.
* ExtremeDoormat: Has a hard time saying no. [[spoiler:Even with his personality flipped, the most he can do is try to resist a request, but he'll comply if pushed a little further.]]
* ExtremeOmnivore: Due to how poorly his parents treated him, especially in regards to feeding him, his stomach has apparently gotten to the point where he can eat pretty much anything, so long as it's edible.
* FeatherMotif: Instead of his usual FlowerMotif, he gets [[spoiler:black feathers around him when his personality got changed into an evil persona.]]
* FishOutOfWater: Besides the general danger he's in simply being a human in the demon world, he's also completely ignorant of its history, culture, and customs.
* FlowerMotif: He has flowers appearing around him whenever he is happy or being a nice guy.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: It is hinted several times that he will become the next Demon King, based on an ancient prophecy about who would become it.
** He has had a beast bow to him.
** He received a golden ring on his right hand.
** It is stated that the next Demon King would come from "a foreign realm".
** During [[spoiler:his "evil phase"]], he was a natural leader.
** He causes others around him to want to improve themselves.
** He cares about the well-being of others, [[LackOfEmpathy something unheard of in the Demon Realm]].
* GrewASpine: His character arc as a whole. He slowly becomes more confident in his ability to take charge in life instead of letting people walk all over him. It's still slow enough that he's the ButtMonkey, but he's at least going in the right direction.
* HappilyAdopted: It's surprising how his adoptive demonic grandfather is better than the blood-related trash that is supposed to be his human parents.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Asmodeus.
* HiddenDepths: [[spoiler:Given some implications, the demonic "evil phase" Arikured forcibly induced in him just involved amplifying and bringing to the forefront all of his inner vices, along with removing his inhibitions, rather than actually making him evil. Going by this, right from the start there's been more to him than a sycophantic nice guy, such as an impeccable ability to notice and understand everybody around him, a slight disdain towards anybody that looks down on others, and a deeply-buried yet capable playboy side.]]
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: His human parents left him fending off by himself on his own two feet. As in literally since they considered him independant enough once he could walk!
* IdiotHair: He has a sickle-shaped tuft of hair sticking out of the top of his head.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Due to his past as an ExtremeDoormat, Iruma doesn't have much in the way of companionship. Until he met Azz and Clara, anyway, whom he dubs his "No. 1" and "No. 2" friends.
* IKnowKarate: He learned martial arts as a means of defending himself, due getting into dangerous situations thanks to his horrible parents.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: When he tells Crocell (who works incredibly hard at being a famous akudol) that he's jealous of her for not standing out at all in school, while he keeps drawing attention without even trying.
* InstantWebHit: His AttractiveBentGender is surprisingly popular among the male students of his school.
* InvisibleToNormals: Ironic since he is the only human in the demon world, but it would seem that no one is able to see Arikured but him. Leaving several demons to believe he is talking to himself.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: [[spoiler:After getting his personality altered by his ring, he becomes very aggressive and assertive. However, in spite of that, he still retains his caring heart, and only uses his new willful mentality to do everything he can to make the lives of his friends and classmates better.]]
* LethalChef: Due to the way his parents "raised" him, Iruma's understanding towards cooking doesn't go much further than "put in all the ingredients or anything that's edible together and warm it up in any way".
* MirrorMoralityMachine: [[spoiler:His ring decided to try altering his personality and giving him a evil phase (a period every year that makes that demon more evil than usual).]]
* MistakenForBadass: Those who aren't aware of his human nature (i.e. anyone not Sullivan, Opera, and now Ameri) would come to see him as something of a badass who {{No Sell}}s attacks from powerful demons, and subverts the will of those even more powerful than that, without breaking a sweat. In truth, he's just a very lucky boy with some magical nudges here and there from his newfound "grandfather".
* {{Muggle}}: Iruma is the TokenHuman of the demon world and has no innate magical powers.
* MundaneLuxury: Living in a mansion aside, he was amazed to just have his own room and able to go to school like a normal kid.
* NiceGuy: So nice that he suffers from being an ExtremeDoormat because of it. Even with his adoptive "grandfather" being one of the highest ranked and wealthiest demons in the netherworld, who constantly spoils and dotes on him, this does nothing to change his kind and caring personality. [[spoiler: Even when Arikured puts him through an "evil cycle", Iruma at his absolute worst turns out to still only be a JerkWithAHeartOfGold.]]
* NiceToTheWaiter: He is nice to everyone, including the staff at Babyls from the teachers to the janitors. [[spoiler:Thanks to which he was able to get all of the permission slips needed for the transfer to the Kings Classroom.]]
* ObliviousToLove: Despite his [[AwesomeByAnalysis ability to notice things]], he doesn't seem to be aware of Ameri having fallen in love with him despite how clearly her personality changes when around him, or the clear crushes Clara and Crocell seem to have developed towards him.
* ParentalAbandonment: And the worst possible kind there is. Granted, things went very swell for Iruma, but what kind of parents would gleefully sell the soul of their son to a demon in exchange for money?
* RagsToRiches: Was forced to work even as a child in order to make ends meet due to his parents being extremely neglectful and putting their financial burdens on him. Once Sullivan buys and adopts him, he treats him very well, showering him with love, gifts, and food, things Iruma never really knew about when he was with his biological parents.
* RingOfPower: The Gluttony Ring allows him to absorb magic to make it seem like he can do magic and masquerade as a demon.
* ShipTease: He gets a considerable amount of this with Ameri. She attempts to set up a date with him at a water park ([[ObliviousToLove much to his obliviousness]]), and later on, the two bake cookies together (with Opera's help, as they both are [[LethalChef quite bad at it]]). In fact, some of their interactions end up directly mirroring scenes from ''Hatsukoi Memory'', the shoujo romance manga that he reads to her.
* SpringtimeForHitler: All of his attempts to fail miserably and not stand out to get expelled just add to his reputation and make him an honor student.
* StrangerInAStrangeSchool: He is the only human in a Demon School. Though also subverted a bit as the school teaches everything a normal school would teach: math, science, biology, etc.
* StrongerThanTheyLook: He is able to carry Ameri, who is close to twice his height, bridal style. Something she very much liked.
* SuperReflexes: Due to him being in life-threatening situations since he could walk, he is extremely good at dodging. It's even been described that his Evade Skill is infinite while his Attack Power is zero.
* TaremeEyes: Befitting his NiceGuy personality. [[spoiler:After Arikured alters his personality, they become TsurimeEyes instead.]]
* TemptingFate: He tries to constantly avoid drawing attention to himself, especially after hearing the demon school song where they sing about eating humans. Unfortunately things that happen around him end up drawing more attention to him, such as when he thinks being given the lowest rank wouldn't make him stand out. Which normally may have happened, except the school newspaper wrote an article about what he did during the ranking test. Everyone being subjected to his ring's demonic howling didn't help matters either. His grandfather will also unintentionally draw attention to him as well, such as taking him to school in a fancy wagon, complete with Opera rolling out a red carpet and announcing that he's arrived.
* TokenHuman: The only human in the entire series (disregarding his parents and minor human characters from flashbacks, since they are never seen interacting with Iruma in the present of the story).
* UnluckilyLucky: In many ways he can be considered lucky, as following his adoption by Sullivan several things in his life seem to chance upon going happily for him, such as gaining Azz and Clara as friends, speeding through the ranks due to stumbling upon various things, and winning prizes for lottery-type things quite a few times. However, he can also be considered unlucky since his terrible parents made him learn how to survive unfortunate circumstances ''since he was a toddler'', he's near-constantly getting into dangerous situations even after being adopted by Sullivan, and all his attempts to stay unnoticed out of fear towards being eaten if anybody figures out he's a human fail in ways that make him stand out more and more. Overall it's very difficult to know where his luck actually lies.
* WeaksauceWeakness: The three deadly phrases: "Please!", "Help me!", and "I beg you!". Iruma is physically and psychologically compelled to lend a hand whenever somebody speaks any of these words. [[spoiler:Even when influenced by Arikured to be "evil" and without inhibitions Iruma can only really resist the urge before begrudgingly giving help when asked a second time]].
* WorthyOpponent: He's seen as this by Sabnock after he saved him from the Leader of Kanakiri Valley.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: He has inexplicably bright blue hair, but if anything it makes him blend in among demons with similarly strange hair colors.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Arikured]]
The avatar of Iruma's ring.
* {{Cyclops}}: After gaining a more concrete visual form, he only has a single eye.
* EvilDetectingDog: [[spoiler:It is revealed that him making Iruma grab Amy by the throat was him warning Iruma that Amy was a BitchInSheepsClothing.]]
* MakeMeWannaShout: He has a scream so powerful that it can knock out almost everyone in the school.
* MagicEater: He eats mana, which Iruma can then use.
* MeaningfulName: The name he goes by translates to "the missing Demon King". What this means for the story, and what possible connection he has to the former student known only as "Derukira", is currently unknown.
* MirrorMoralityMachine: [[spoiler:Uses his power to change Iruma's personality.]]
* RankUp: Iruma and Arikured suspect that he gains more power the higher Iruma's Demon Rank is.
* SuddenlyVoiced: Even Arikured was shocked when he realized he was able to talk.
* {{Troll}}: Seems to enjoy messing with Iruma, or at least the outcome.
-->'''Iruma''': WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?\\
'''Arikured''': Watching the drama from the ring. Super funny.
* VoluntaryShapeshifter: After acquiring a concrete form, he gains a habit of shifting into various appearances based on things he's seen, mostly to troll Iruma even more.

[[folder:Alice "Azz" Asmodeus]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/RyoheiKimura (Japanese), Creator/BillyKametz (English)
[[quoteright:325:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/asmodeus_alice.png]]
A powerful honor student who possesses powerful fire magic from his family lineage.
----
* TheAce: There is hardly anything he isn't great at.
* AloofBigBrother: He apparently used to be a CoolBigBro, going by his sisters, but ever since he met and was beaten by Iruma, all he ever thinks of or talks about is Iruma, and has stopped giving his sisters the time of day like he used to.
* AttractiveBentGender: When acting as a female akudol, several demon guys found him to be quite beautiful.
* BigBrotherWorship: He has two younger sisters, Viole and Lily, who think the world of him. They're extremely jealous of how Iruma keeps attracting all of his attention, especially since he keeps saying Iruma is better than him, which miffs them as they can't imagine anybody being better than their big bro.
* {{Bishonen}}: He's a rather pretty boy, such that he has many fangirls.
* BishieSparkle: Sometimes prone to this, which Iruma often finds blinding.
* ButtMonkey: Usually caused by Clara.
* ChickMagnet: As the most popular boy in Babyls, as well as one of the most attractive, he naturally has many girls throughout the school that fawn over him.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Played for laughs. He's just as disturbed as Clara when Iruma keeps leaving them to meet with Ameri, if not more. As Clara puts it, he's like "a jealous wife checking on her cheating husband".
* CustomUniform: Wears a white uniform with an ascot.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: When Iruma defeated him, Azu swore to be his retainer, later becoming friends.
* {{Expy}}: From his similar appearance and personality of a devoted servant to the MC, he greatly resembles Alciel from ''LightNovel/TheDevilIsAPartTimer''.
* FanOfUnderdog: He's absolutely convinced that Iruma is the greatest and most powerful demon ever.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Iruma.
* HypocriticalHumor: While trying to tail Iruma, he tells Clara she stands out too much.
-->'''Clara''': I don't want to hear that from you.
-->(cue a bunch of Azz's fan girls cheering him on)
* InSeriesNickname: Iruma addresses him as "Azz".
* LargeHam: He's not quite on the same level as Sabnock or Ronove, but when it comes to doing anything that might help Iruma in any way, he has a tendency to get loud and dramatic while overexaggerating in his head the reasons for why Iruma does things.
* LastNameBasis: Often goes by his family name instead of his [[GenderBlenderName feminine given name]].
* MeaningfulName: Per Abrahamic religions, Asmodeus is the demonic prince of {{Lust}}, which is represented by his own (family's) [[{{Bishonen}} attractiveness]], [[ChickMagnet how girls fawn over him]], [[CrazyJealousGuy and his own rather unhealthy obsession with Iruma]].
* PlayingWithFire: His family bloodline can create fire. He himself often uses this power to create a FlamingSword.
* SubmissiveBadass: He's better at pretty much everything compared to Iruma, but since Iruma beat him in a duel, followed by a few other lucky misunderstandings, he became his loyal follower, then friend.
* SmugSuper: Prior to being beaten by Iruma, he had a very high opinion of himself, viewing himself as one of, if not THE best demon in the netherworld, and he has the power to back that up. After being defeated by Iruma, however, it gets played with. While still rather smug at times, it's now directed towards ''Iruma's'' behalf, constantly telling everybody that Iruma is the greatest demon to ever exist, even getting angry when anybody makes so much as a minor slight towards him, using his great power for that cause.
* ThrowingTheFight: He attempted to do this in the Dodgeball Game in order for Iruma's team to win (as he got stuck in the opposing team). But when he realized how hard Iruma worked to win this game, he couldn't force himself to throw away the match and put Iruma's hard work to waste.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Light pink.

[[folder:Clara Valac]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Ayaka Asai (Japanese), Creator/KayliMills (English)
[[quoteright:325:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/valac_clara.png]]
A weird, childish, and energetic girl who is known for her special ability to create copies of any object she has seen.
----
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Clara can get easily distracted.
* BadassAdorable: She's a kooky goofball who loves playing around and can often be seen doing a lot of weird and comedic things. She's also fully capable of standing up for herself, especially when she has a goal, and has shown to be quite skilled at using her bloodline power effectively.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: After befriending Iruma, when her old playmates come asking for stuff, she pulls out and slams a vending machine into the face of one of them, before making a scalding retort, showing that she's perfectly capable of standing up for herself if she feels the need to. This comes up again in the anime when she fights Azz in order to get Iruma back from Ameri, using more and more objects and attacks in her attempts, before finally smashing through the door with a wrecking ball, showing that if there's something she wants badly enough, she's willing to do ''anything'' to get it.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: She has an Ero level so low she's described as being even more innocent than a baby, something her seduction teacher didn't seem to think was ''physically possible''. That said, while she starts out this way, she gradually moves away from it as she hangs around Iruma and comes to terms with her growing feelings for him.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She easily gets jealous when she sees Iruma spending time with Ameri.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Her mind wanders around a lot, and with her ability to pull anything from her hyperspace domain, she can create havoc easily.
* ConfusionFu: She's a scatter-brained {{Cloudcuckoolander}} with the power of instantaneous item creation. When she gets in a fight, there's literally no way for her enemies (or allies) to know what she'll be whipping out next and how she plans to use it.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: She's a major case of TheDitz, being among the dumbest students in her class and [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny easily distracted]]. However, in spite of this, she's actually an incredibly capable demon, being rather skilled at using her [[ThePowerOfCreation object re-creation ability]] in useful ways, along with having both impressive strength and a strong enough will (after befriending Iruma lets her abandon her old ExtremeDoormat mentality) to be able to push herself into doing almost anything to get something she wants.
* CuteButCacophonic: She's cute, yes, but good ''Lord'' is [[NoIndoorVoice her voice so incredibly loud and shrill]].
* CuteLittleFangs: Her mouth is shown to be full of rather sharp teeth, with it being more obvious in detailed close-ups. Rather than making her [[ScaryTeeth scary]], though, they instead add to her cute and silly appeal.
* DynamicEntry: Sometimes does this. Her first meeting with Azz and Iruma was her rolling out of a classroom to "bowl" and knock over some boxes in the hallway. Later on when Iruma first arrives to school in a carriage, she smacks Azz face first in a rolled up carpet. When he throws her off screen, she immediately lunges back onto the screen and hits him again.
* ExtremeDoormat: She originally suffered this before becoming friends with Iruma because she relied on using her powers to satisfy people's wants if it means they would hang out with her.
* FriendlessBackground: Prior to meeting Iruma, nobody would bother to give her the time of day unless she gave them something, due to how annoying she can be.
* TheGadfly: It would appear that a good chunk of what she does is to annoy Azz, though in her own roundabout way she does show that she cares about him as a friend, even if nowhere near the same extent she considers Iruma her friend.
* GenkiGirl: She's just full of energy.
* GratuitousEnglish: Many of her energetic / cheerleading exclamations are in English.
* HimeCut: Her bangs are styled like this, but her personality is anything but.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: Her singing has been compared to Arikured's ear piercing scream.
* HyperspaceArsenal: Partnered up with her [[ThePowerOfCreation object re-creation ability]], she is able to pull anything she created (no matter how big) out of her pockets.
* ImprovisedWeapon: She doesn't exactly draw firm distinctions when deciding what is a weapon and what isn't. She's just as likely to go after you with a vending machine as she is with a chainsaw.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: She becomes very happy when Iruma tells her that she doesn't need to give him things just to have him play with her.
* KiddieKid: She's the demon equivalent of a high school student, but she's incredibly childish and innocent.
* LoveEpiphany: During the girls-only party she set up after Exam Day, she admits that she likes Iruma but it is made clear that she only sees him as a friend. When Elizabeth mentions that she meant someone she would want to marry, Clara's face turns bright red thinking about her and Iruma having a wedding, and states if it was Iruma she wouldn't mind.
* {{Malaproper}}: She has a common problem of mishearing, along with misspeaking, a lot of things other people tell her. The most common of which being things that Azz talks about to her, since he likes being dramatic and using complicated words.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: She has three brothers and two sisters.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: Comes naturally, as she ''is'' a demon. However, other demons don't tend to [[PerpetualSmiler smile ear-to-ear as often as she does]].
* MotorMouth: As a person full to the brim with excitable energy, most of the time when she talks, she does a so a mile a minute.
* NiceShoes: Is always wearing a pair of slippers that look kinda like demonic frogs. Both of them are actually alive.
* TheNicknamer: Has a habit of giving people she knows cutesy nicknames, such as Iruma-chi for Iruma (Iruma-kins in the dub), Azz-Azz for Asmodeus, Eggy-Sensei (Eggy Teach in the dub) for Kalego and Scarlet-Chan (Lady Red Hair in the dub) for Ameri.
* NoIndoorVoice: Clara usually has two volume settings: "Loud", and "very loud".
* PerpetualSmiler: Befitting her GenkiGirl personality.
* ThePowerOfCreation: Her family bloodline allows her to re-create anything she's seen before and pull it out of her pockets. [[OpportunisticBastard Three demons pretended to be her friends just to get free stuff out of her.]]
* SanityHasAdvantages: She has the power to re-create anything she has seen before, with no suggestions there is a limit to this. Her being a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} usually limits her to only using this power to making snacks or other items for her amusement.
* ShoulderTeammate: She develops a habit of clinging to Sabnock's back whenever she can. He doesn't like it but she does it so often he now just ignores it.
* SmarterThanYouLook: As childish and immature as she is, she's fully aware that others see her as a nuisance and will only play with her because she can give them free snacks and drinks, as well as the fact that eventually, even that won't be enough and they will avoid her. Also, while she is a legitimate case of TheDitz, she knows her way around her powers well enough that she can get pretty impressively creative with objects she's seen before if she's pushed into thinking harder when it comes to trying to get something she wants.
* StrongerThanTheyLook: She's a lithe high school girl and a major {{Cloudcuckoolander}}, but she can toss around vending machines with ease and casually destroy trees by rolling through them.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Her entire family basically has the same face and HimeCut.
* WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove: She initially had difficulties understanding how she felt about Iruma, mostly seeing him as a free permanent play-buddy, while occasionally feeling weird things around him, with her especially not liking seeing him hang around Ameri. It's not until she has a sleepover with Ameri, Elizabeth and Kurori, where they end up talking about romance due to drinking a tea that makes people more open with their thoughts, that she truly starts to realize that she might want to be something more than a friend to Iruma.
* WithCatlikeTread: When Azz and Clara try to quietly find Iruma to figure out why he keeps leaving all the time:
-->'''Clara''': (On top of the school) '''I-RU-MA-CHI!!!'''
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Clara wanted nothing more than to "seduce" Iruma away from Ameri. After failing miserably multiple times, Prof. Raim offered her a LovePotion she said would guarantee that he will fall for her. She just left the room saying she didn't want/need it.
* WontTakeYesForAnAnswer: When Iruma and her first met, she fully believed the only reason anyone would ever play with her was because she can offer FoodAsBribe. So when she offered a lot of stuff for Iruma to keep playing with her and when he stated he "doesn't need it", she took that as him saying she is such a nuisance to him that even bribing him won't work. It took him clarifying that he meant he doesn't need to be bribed and wants to keep playing with her without it.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Lime green.

!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/TakayaKuroda (Japanese), Creator/KyleHebert (English)
A high ranking demon who adopted Iruma. He is the principal of the demon school Babirus.
----
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: In the very first episode/chapter, he proceeds to gleefully talk about his grandson to the students and faculty on the first day of school while showing off a ''poster'' of a picture of him with his grandson.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He seems like a goof and will spend days talking with colleagues on who has the cutest grandchildren, but when things get serious, he's fully capable of [[spoiler:breaking out while being investigated for unauthorized human contact]] without a second thought.
* DecliningPromotion: It is revealed he is not a Yod (Highest Rank) because he just doesn't want it. He also keeps refusing to become the Demon King despite the other two Greats supporting the idea.
* DotingGrandparent: The main reason he bought Iruma was so he could be this trope.
* ExplainExplainOhCrap: After Iruma won the Cannonball Execution and thanked Opera he was furious that he wasn't thanked for everything he did. It took him a second to realize he actually didn't do anything to help except get Opera to help him.
* FamedInStory: He is not only the demon school's principal, but also one of the three candidates for the next demon king.
* ItAmusedMe: A good chunk of mischievous things he gets into could be explained because of this.
* IWantGrandkids: Rare male example. Sullivan is extremely distraught as he is old, single, and childless, therefore not having anyone to sire him grandchildren. It's the reason why he decided to adopt Iruma in the first place.
* PapaWolf: If his adoptive grandson is in danger, he won't hesitate to even [[spoiler:break out of jail]] in order to save him.
* ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem: [[spoiler:Averted. He might be a Demon King candidate, but when it was leaked to the security force that he may have contacted humans, they treat it as if he committed a serious crime and bring him in for questioning.]]
* StrongerThanTheyLook: He appears to be a skinny elderly demon that acts like a goofball and loves to dote on his grandson. However he is easily one of the strongest demons in his world to where the entire Security Force knew they had no chance in stopping him from leaving. He also had enough mana to fill Arikured up without any signs that it affected him where it knocked out both Sabro and Azz with a single touch.
* SuperDeformed: Tends to take on a less detailed egg-shaped appearance when doting on Iruma or acting mischievous.

[[folder:Opera]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/MitsukiSaiga (Japanese), Brian Anderson (English)
The Sullivan residence servant.
----
* TheAce: They're incredibly skilled at almost everything they do, from games to cooking to fighting and more, sometimes even acting as a HyperCompetentSidekick for Sullivan when he isn't up to doing something at the moment.
* AmbiguousGender: It's really hard to be sure if Opera is a guy or a girl. The English dub refers to Opera as "they". %%Note: Just because Clara said the group under Opera at Walter Park was a "girls only" party, doesn't confirm Opera's gender. Clara was most likely just referring to the four girls being together again%%
* CatGirl: Err...guy...person? Regardless, Opera's design evokes this aesthetic, as they have both cat ear-like "horns" protruding from their hair, and a feline tail.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: One of their jobs looks to be reining Sullivan in whenever his actions start getting out of hand.
* DeadpanSnarker: When Sullivan calls Opera [[spoiler:after he was arrested for allegedly contacting the Human Realm, Opera casually asks how long Sullivan was going to be in jail.]]
* ExpressiveEars: Iruma has noted that, while Opera's face might stay the same most of the time, the positioning of their ears does change depending on their mood.
* TheJeeves: They're a classic example of a devoted manservant... you know, besides them being a demon.
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** They normally act as the voice of reason and sanity for Sullivan, but whenever Iruma praises them or treats them as part of his family, they're shown to be capable of appreciating it just as much as Sullivan.
** They are also quite open to playing video games and doing other fun activities with Iruma.
** When they were in school, they were a bully upperclassman to Kalego, and when he comes over for a teacher-house visit, they get right back to screwing around with him.
* NotSoStoic: Opera can still frequently get caught off guard despite their usual organization and preparation. Such as thinking Iruma (who at this point had been fairly dependable) and Ameri (who is a stickler for detail) being unable to even bake ''cookies'' without destroying the kitchen despite being given clear written instructions. Likewise, Opera knew Ameri was strong, but had no idea just how much of an iron will Ameri had over her bloodline power.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: They are normally stoic, even in some of the more troublesome situations. [[spoiler:But if even they are visibly scared of Evil Iruma's condition, then you know it must be serious.]]
* ParentalSubstitute: While Sullivan is the one that adopted Iruma as his grandson, it's Opera that actually does most of the caretaking, cooking up his food, helping him with his schoolwork, playing games together, and generally just acting as the actual parent for Iruma.
* PrehensileTail: They're capable of using their tail like an extra limb, with said tail being coordinated and dexterous enough to operate a video game controller by itself as well as a person using two hands - while Opera is busy talking on the phone.
* SempaiKohai: Opera is Kalego's senpai back in their student days. Apparently Opera was quite the bully. Even to present time, Kalego is reluctant to meet Opera and even more fearful of staying in Opera's vicinity for longer than is necessary.
* TeamMom: Gender ambiguity aside, Opera clearly acts as this, reigning in Sullivan and taking care of Iruma.
* TheStoic: Their default expression is rather neutral, and they rarely ever deviate from it.
* StrongerThanTheyLook: While it's always been obvious that they were a capable butler and incredibly skilled physically, they're actual strength was never shown until they fought a giant "panther rat" at Walter Park, with them blocking its attacks and knocking it around with ease. In fact, the only reason they had even a little trouble was because they were caught off guard, which they rectify afterwards with some help. [[spoiler: It's implied that Opera outranks Kalego and Balam, both of whom are Rank 8 Demons, since they still defer to Opera even as adults.]]

[[caption-width-right:325:[[labelnote:Click here to see his form as Iruma's familiar]]\\

A strict teacher who takes his job very seriously. He greatly dislikes troublemakers and annoying people.
----
* BerserkButton: People who are noisy, undisciplined, and do whatever they want. In other words, someone like his boss, Sullivan.
* TheChewToy: If anything can go wrong for him, it will go wrong in as amusing a manner as possible. Iruma is (accidentally) his main nemesis, but pretty much any time a teacher or student's wacky antics inconvenience someone, that someone will be Kalego.
* TheComicallySerious: He always portrays himself as a serious SternTeacher. Too bad he's in a zany comedy.
* {{Expy}}: He strongly resembles Severus Snape from ''Literature/HarryPotter'', a grumpy, short-tempered teacher with dark, greasy hair who takes an immediate dislike to the hero and is a surprisingly powerful magic-user. He's less antagonistic and more fair-minded than Snape, usually serving as a reluctant ally rather than a bitter enemy to Iruma, but the similarity is definitely there.
* {{Familiar}}: Becomes Iruma's due to Iruma being human when using the summoning circle and using the paper with Kalego's symbol on it.
** He also has his own as a demon. It's some sort of golden dragon-hydra.
* HiddenDepths: He apparently has a hobby of collecting cactuses, suggesting he might be a CaringGardener outside of work.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: The universe hates him, and he hates it back. It's genuinely unclear how much of his surly, abrasive attitude is just him, and how much is his appalling luck making sure he gets off on the wrong foot with ''everyone''. However, he's a ReasonableAuthorityFigure who [[{{Tsundere}} actually cares about the wellbeing of his students, though he acts like he doesn't and gets really jumpy when somebody points this out]].
* MorphicResonance: Whether it's his normal self or his familiar form, he has a long hair strand that flops out.
* NumberTwo: He seems to be right below Sullivan in command of the school.
* OddFriendship: He seems to get along with Professor Balam.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Despite most people just annoying him, he seems to be genuinely scared of [[spoiler: Opera]].
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Even though Kalego is always stone-faced and grumpy, he's actually very fair and reasonable if a student show their respect and go above and beyond his expectations. By the end of the school festival arc, he had come to accept Iruma's competence and raised his power rank by one, though he's still mildly upset about all the ruckus the Magical Tools division caused.
* SempaiKohai: He was Opera's kouhai and glorified errand boy during his school years.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His given name can potentially be translated as Kalego, Callego, or Calluego.
* SternTeacher: He takes his job as a teacher very seriously, and will not take any tomfoolery from students, fellow teachers, or even from the principal. [[spoiler:This even extends to ''himself'' when he's forced to perform humiliating acts as a familiar, as refusing would be going against his own creed.]]
* StrongerThanTheyLook: In his familiar form, he looks like a very small bird. Despite this he was able to knock out both Azu's and Sabnock's familiars at the same time. It is also revealed he is [[spoiler:one of the strongest teachers at the school, Ranked 8.]]
* SurroundedByIdiots: Students and other teachers alike, especially the headmaster, much to his dismay.

!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/SatomiArai (Japanese), Creator/SarahWilliams (English)
The head of demonic biology class and the magical vegetation division.
----
* CatSmile: She has a bit of a cleft lip, giving her a permanent one.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: She has 4-pointed stars for pupils.
* EyesAlwaysShut: She's not actually averse to opening them, but most of her page-/screen-time in the manga and anime have them closed, and even when she does it's usually half-lidded. In fact, the only time she's ever opened her eyes completely was during the anime version of the Battra Party explanation video.
* GreenThumb: The anime adds an extra scene which shows that her personal magical affinity involves plants, as befitting the teacher in charge of them.
* VerbalTic: She has a habit of randomly saying the French word "oui". The English translation of the anime turns it into "yis".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Raim]]
The succubus teacher for seduction.
----
* ExoticEyeDesigns: When using her "Sexy Scope" powers, her pupils change into hearts that take up most of her eyes.
* HornyDevil: Her literal job description involves her being sexy and seductive in order to get men to do what she wants, and she works at the school to teach other demon girls how to be just as erotic.
* HotTeacher: As would be expected for somebody teaching a seduction class, she's one of the most provocatively dressing and erotically acting characters in the entire series, with only Asmodeus Amaryllis, Azz' mother and her original teacher, being sexier and more erotic than her.
* MagicEye: She has "Sexy Scope" as an inherent succubus power, which lets her measure the sexual appeal and skill of the people she looks at.
* LovePotion: She offers one to Clara when she failed miserably in her seduction lessons, but Clara turns it down.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her name can also be translated as Lime.
* UnusualEyebrows: Hers extend off the side in M-like arcs before curving back under her eyes, giving them a heart-shaped look.

[[folder:Robin Balse]]
The teacher for the familiar class.
----
* AlwaysAccurateAttack: His bloodline grants him the ability to shoot arrows that will always reach their target, bypassing anything that might get in the way.
* CoolTeacher: He's a rather exuberant teacher, always doing his best to connect with his students, though he can be very absent-minded at times.
* TheDitz: Also like Clara, his mind tends to wander a lot, occasionally losing track of whatever he was trying to do.
* {{Keet}}: He's pretty much a male Clara, full of energy and enthusiasm.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: He wasn't present when Kalego was turned into a Familiar so he was unaware of it. None of the faculty nor the students bothered informing him, mostly because they wanted to see how it would turn out. It's not clear if he ever did find out as Kalego absolutely refuses to talk about it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Momonoki Morax]]
The teacher of magic foundation.
----
* AnimalMotif: Frogs. Her magic involves frogs in many ways, from summoning swarms of them to being able transform others into them. She also is rather prone to "jumping" into things, such as her efforts to try and get Kalego's attention.
* BalefulPolymorph: She knows magic that lets her morph any living thing into any other living thing, with her default choice being frogs.
* CutenessProximity: She absolutely adores Kalego's familiar form, and takes any chance she gets to gush over seeing it.
* NamesTheSame: One of two teachers with the name Morax, with her being the younger-looking one.
* ShipTease: It is hinted that she has a crush on Kalego, as his private notebook was used to get her to sign the Classroom Change application for the Misfit Class. She also finds his familiar form especially cute, moreso than anybody else.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bushenko Beur]]
* HealingFactor: His bloodline grants him the power to rapidly heal from any injury as long as he has mana, making him effectively immortal. He still feels pain, though.
* ImmortalityHurts: As mentioned above, he is pretty much immortal as long as he has mana, but doesn't stop him from feeling the pain of each attack.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shichirou Balam]]
The teacher for imaginary beings.
----
* CoolMask: Wears one that looks like the mouth-piece of a knight's helmet, which hides his mouth disfigurement.
* CoolTeacher: He is very good at explaining things with his picture books. It was thanks to him Iruma was able to get a grasp on his studies.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Easily one of the creepiest looking and acting characters in the series so far, but is actually a very nice guy. [[spoiler:Even when his friendliness causes Iruma to accidentally reveal that he's human, he shows that this niceness does indeed extend to humans, at least under the belief of Iruma being from an endangered species.]] He also provides picture books to help Iruma with learning demon world things and improving his grades.
* FacialHorror: Due to an accident, the skin on half of his jaw has been permanently torn off, requiring him to always wear something to cover it, so as not to constantly terrify other people.
* FailedASpotCheck: Despite his bloodline ability, he failed to see that Iruma was lying about being a demon. [[spoiler:That ability is probably why when Iruma confessed in front of him and then tried to walk it back, he was having none of it.]]
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Despite his creepy appearance and demeanor, he actually holds deep, genuine affection for all other living beings. The fact his appearance scares most creatures away means he grew to be incredibly affectionate towards those willing to stick around.
* GenkiGuy: Once he learned of Iruma's lack of knowledge about the demon world, he proceeded to make a whole load of picture books for Iruma to learn from. Apparently he'd been making picture books long before he met Iruma, but no one took an interest in them until now.
* GreenThumb: He's very knowledgable about all kinds of flora and fauna, and carries around a jar of special mana-sensitive plants to use in battle. He used one to turn it into a tree-dragon to battle an actual dragon.
* ImportantHaircut: Following his initial interactions with Iruma, when they meet again after the final exams, he's shaved his long, messy hair off out of the decision to do more in order to become more approachable to students, thanks to Iruma giving him the confidence to try.
* LivingLieDetector: His bloodline gives him the ability to tell when somebody is trying to deceive him.
* TheMentor: Of all the teachers at Babyls, he's probably the most effective at actually teaching Iruma about the demon world.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: He's dreaded around the school for his incredibly touchy-feely attitude. It's to the point where rumors spread about him doing it to find suitable test subjects for experiments.
* OddFriendship:
** He is actually a friend of Kalego.
** Him and Iruma getting along was initially seen as this. After his hair cut and attempts at being more sociable, it became less so.
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler:He is one of the few characters that knows Iruma is a human.]]

* BewareTheCuteOnes: He may be a cute pudgy-looking demon, but he'll punish those who steal from his store.
* {{Expy}}: He's a tiny guy in a face-hiding outfit that only shows his eyes, mans a place where people can buy stuff, and gets angry when people try to take things from him without paying. He's basically this series' version of a [[Franchise/StarWars Jawa]].
* InTheHood: It's shown in the anime that his appearance is actually him wearing a full-body hoodie, with the reason for his black face being shadows hiding everything besides his glowing eyes.
* PunnyName: His name is based on how some shops advertise by calling out to potential pedestrian customers.

!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/TakuyaSato
A demon who aspires to be the Demon King because it is cool. His family lineage let's them make weapons.
----
* AntiquatedLinguistics: Has a tendency to speak in an exaggerated, bombastic way, including near-constant use of "thou" and "thee", most likely as yet another way to look cool.
* AscendedFanboy: He dreams of becoming this, as his love for the previous Demon King is so strong that he wants to be the next one.
* BaitAndSwitch: When he gives the reason he wants to be the Demon King, it shows cliche scenes such as his big brother becoming his rival and it being his dying little sister's last wish. He immediately states that neither of those things happened as his brother is a pacifist and his sister is fine, he just wants to become the Demon King because "[[RuleOfCool HE'S THE COOLEST!]]"
* CustomUniform: He sure likes showing off his muscles with his own personal uniform.
* DumbMuscle: He does have a perfectly functional brain. He just doesn't use it much, and prefers to solve his problems with brute force because that's cooler.
* {{Foil}}: To Azz. Where Azz portrays himself as proper and dignified, Sabro is very loud and runs on RuleOfCool. This is also reflected in their familiars where Azz is Fire and his is Water.
* HiddenDepths: Seems to be a talented actor, as shown when he played the Demon King during the festival play. He's also one of the smartest students in the class, at least academically. [[spoiler:This is due to him being tempered by Iruma, having realized that a good Demon King is not only strong, but also smart. When fighting the dragon, he recognizes when he's outmatched and plans a tactical retreat, despite him usually being gun-ho in most situations.]]
* GracefulLoser:
** When he thought he was about to meet his end, he accepts it without question.
** Despite seeing him as a rival, he holds no ill will against Iruma and whenever he gets "bested", he happily congradulates his rival.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Tends to think like this when it comes to his ideas of how he can be cooler than everybody else, such as fighting a teacher in an attempt to get instant fame, or seeing more limbs on a familiar as meaning they're stronger than those with less limbs.
* MachoMasochism: He's incredibly proud of his ability to withstand pain, and will frequently take hits he could have avoided in order to show it off. This is one reason he's useless at dodgeball.
* OnlyAFleshWound: He's introduced with a plethora of weapons sticking out of him. None of them hurt him, of course.
* RedBaron: "The Golden Lion"
* RuleOfCool: Pretty much everything he does is because he thinks it looks cool, and the coolest guy he can imagine is the Demon King.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Despite being a competitive loudmouth with a penchant for starting fights, he's actually reasonably intelligent, to the point of getting pretty high grades. He justifies this by stating that since he wants to become the Demon King, getting good to excellent grades is just to be expected of him.
* SpontaneousWeaponCreation: His bloodline grants him the power to create any kind of weapon made out of whatever material he is currently biting into.
* TearsOfJoy: Did this when [[spoiler:he got into the King's Classroom.]]
* TestosteronePoisoning: A chronic victim. He's a genuinely capable, intelligent student who keeps tripping up over his own ridiculous ideas of manliness.

When he goes to steal the notebook we also see he sees Kalego's wallet and it is hinted he stole that as well. Later when Kalego is visiting him for the Student Inspection, he finds his wallet at his place and threatens to break his arm if he does it again.
* {{Greed}}: With his desire for earning money and stealing, it's natural that his character is associated with the sin of greed.
* {{Irony}}: He hates it when his brother steals from him.
* SelfImposedChallenge: Invoked. He wears rings on each finger that will ring loudly if he slips up even the tiniest bit when pickpocketing.

* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Was one when she was a kid, to where a demon bought her a very high ice cream cone after bumbling into him caused her to drop her previous one.
* AnIcePerson: Her family bloodline can create ice.
* DramaticIrony: She thinks Iruma is intentionally trying to gain more fame and attention to himself, unaware he is actually trying to go unnoticed as much as possible.
* EmotionlessGirl: Appears to be a trait of her entire family. She was one too until her grandmother showed her an idol show. [[spoiler: It is later revealed that her family can express emotion, but do not have a high stamina for doing so. Which is why they don't attend her live concerts as they don't believe they would be able to handle the emotions.]]
* GreenEyedMonster: Despite secretly being a popular idol, she developed a strong sense of jealousy towards Iruma because of how the latter easily takes the attention of people away from her.
* IdolSinger: As Kuromu, a popular demon idol.
* PowerStrainBlackout: She will pass out if she overexerts herself.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: While the outfits she wears as Kuromu are always designed to be as appealing to her fans as possible, including having a decent amount of skin showing, especially the area around her navel, she doesn't actually like wearing them, as the relative skimpiness compared to her usual attire embarasses her. However, while the outfits embarass her, she grits through the embarassment, as having outfits that emphasize her cuteness and beauty are necessary to be a popular akudol.
* SecretIdentity: No one knows she is the akudol Kuromu. Iruma only found out when he met Kuromu and noticed the similar traits both had. [[spoiler:During the Royal One Arc, she was actually willing to reveal she was Kuromu to help get the permission slips for the classroom transfer, but Iruma tells her not to because he knows she wants to keep that a secret. Something that [[CrushBlush causes her to blush]]]]
* ShortHairWithTail: Her wig as Kuromu.
* UnknownRival: Iruma had no idea that Kurori was jealous of how easily he was able to get fame. It especially didn't help with Iruma praising Kurori on her ability to go unnoticed, which is a BerserkButton for her.
* WellDoneDaughterGirl: She believes her family is against her being an akudol as they never show up to any of her live shows and she wants them to experience happiness like she does. * CompellingVoice: A sub-power of his bloodline ability allows him to command other living things to follow his will. The farther away they are from his personal characteristics, however, such as his bird species in relation to controlling birds, the harder it is to command them. Also, commanding too many at once for an extended period of time heavily strains his mana.
* IRegretNothing: It was revealed that he was sent to the Misfit Class for his sexual harassment of both students and teachers. And, just as it says on the trope, he regrets nothing.
* LovableSexManiac: He would do pretty much anything to get close to women, like starting the Female Body Research Club.
* {{Lust}}: Being a massive pervert, it's not surprising that his character is associated with the sin of lust.

!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/KaedeHondo
A succubus demon with the ability to charm people into doing what she wants.
----
* AscendedExtra: She starts out the manga as a sort of background character, only getting a few scenes and saying a few lines here and there, but starting around Ch.50 she grows into an important secondary character. Additionally, the anime gives her extra scenes and lines in earlier parts of the story, making her slightly more story-important before where she becomes so in the manga.
* BrainlessBeauty: She is one of the lowest scoring students in the class. (And if where she places on the image revealing this is to be taken as fact, she's actually THE dumbest student in class, even worse than Iruma, despite the fact that he couldn't understand anything the school was teaching!)
* CharmPerson: Her bloodline passively makes other strongly like her and do whatever she wants. This does have its limits, however, as no matter how likable she is to somebody, if they experience strong enough emotional turmoil they'll go against her wishes.
* CustomUniform: She wears a uniform similar to the normal one, but the midsection is removed showing off her stomach.
* LoveFreak: When a special tea gets her to be more vocal about her thoughts, she's revealed to have a strong interest in love, causing her to pester other girls about who they like and encourage marriage before they even graduate from school.
* {{Lust}}: She's associated with the sin of lust, not only for her powers but also because she's known for charming both her classmates and teachers.

* {{Bishonen}}: When he takes off his sleep mask and reveals his [[WhatBeautifulEyes amazingly pretty eyes]], plus the fact he has rather long eyelashes, shows that he actually has an incredibly girlishly pretty face, to the point Ronove feels his own beauty threatened.
* BlindfoldedVision: Despite constantly wearing a sleep-mask, he appears to be perfectly capable of doing things that require sight, such as tests, almost as if the eyes on his sleep-mask function as ACTUAL eyes.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his laziness, he is shown to be able to tear up a good chunk of the earth in front of him just from moving his arm.
* DishingOutDirt: His bloodline grants him the power to manipulate any form of earth, along with being able to sense things happening inside that earth.
* ExpressiveMask: He always wears a sleeping mask over his eyes, but the eyes on said mask still move as if they were real.
* LazyBum: He enjoys lazing around on his [[FlyingOnACloud floating]] [[SolidClouds cloud]].
* UnkemptBeauty: Without the sleep mask it's shown that he's quite a pretty boy, which is impressive since he doesn't look to put much, if any, effort into caring about his appearance.
* WhatBeautifulEyes: After taking off his sleep mask because a kid jabbed his eye, it's revealed he has dazzlingly beautiful eyes.

[[folder:Goemon Garp]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Genki Okawa (Japanese), Tom Bauer (English)
A furry demon who is skilled in swordsmanship.
----
* BlowYouAway: He's capable of manipulating wind, though he mainly uses it to form the blade of his katana.
* CoolSword: He carries around a Japanese katana sword for fighting and training.
* ElementalWeapon: His sword is actually just a katana hilt. He uses his wind magic to form the blade.
* {{Expy}}: He is pretty much a demon version of [[Manga/LupinIII another samurai named Goemon]].
* KatanasAreJustBetter: He seems to prefer Japanese katana swords as his choice of weapon.
* VerbalTic: He has a habit of ending his sentences with "de gozaru", as befitting of a person styling himself after samurai.

[[folder:Soi Purson]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': N/A
A quiet and anti-social demon with black horns.
----
* AscendedExtra: While he still isn't anywhere close to being an important character, the anime actually gives him a lot more screen-time than the manga, and he even occasionally gets to do things besides exist.
* LivingProp: So far, he hasn't really been much of a character, mostly seeming to exist to round out the class roster. Most of the time he doesn't even appear as if the author forgot about the character.
* TheQuietOne: Even worse than Elizabeth! While Elizabeth had some small lines here and there before finally having actual conversations, Soi so far has yet to say anything at all!
* TheStoic: Even more-so than Opera! At least Opera has a few moments where they express something. Soi so far has had no moments of expressing anything beyond a neutral face.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Aside from the introduction to the fact he's part of the class and a quick appearance in the opening, he seems to pretty much drop out of existence in the manga, and even in the anime, where he gets more appearances, those occurences are still extremely rare, often not showing up at all in some of the episodes involving the whole class, where he would at least be expected to show up somewhere in the background.

!!!Student Council
[[folder:Ameri Azazel]]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/SaoriHayami (Japanese), Creator/KiraBuckland (English)
[[quoteright:325:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azazel_amelie.png]]
The student council president who is known for her strict and diligent personality as a demon. Her bloodline ability is called Romanticist, which allows her to get stronger the more she believes in herself.
----
* TheAce: She's the archetypal school paragon, gifted magically, physically, and academically.
* BareFistedMonk: Unusually, she doesn't make much use of magic in combat, mainly because kicking someone really hard usually gets the job done. She certainly doesn't have any difficulties with using magic in non-combat situations, so it's presumably just a matter of personal choice.
* BoobsOfSteel: Well-endowed and uses her other prowess in the place of magic.
* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: Not perverted, but Ameri can't keep up her tough side when around Iruma after she had a LoveEpiphany.
* ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve: Her Bloodline Skill is <Romanticist>, where the more she believes in her power and skills the stronger she gets. It is also noted to be a "double-edged sword", as if she is terrified of her opponent it would make her weaker. This Bloodline Skill also explains why she has such an overactive imagination when she ThinksLikeARomanceNovel.
* ClingyJealousGirl: When she finally comes to realize Clara's existence, and learns that she has feelings for Iruma as well, she becomes wary of the potential threat the girl has towards her desire to be with him.
* ClosetGeek: Is aware of the existence of humans because of books her family has gathered throughout the years. Said books turn out to be manga, and she loses her calm and cool demeanor while reading them.
* CustomUniform: As the trope says.
* ExpressiveHair: The two "horns" of her hair twitch around when she's flustered, not unlike a dog's ears.
* GuiltyPleasures: Came to love human manga well before she knew what they say in them.
* HiddenDepths: Ameri has a bunch of them:
** She adores a Romance Story manga, even though she can't read it. She became ecstatic when she found out Iruma can and has him read it to her.
** When she graduates from school, she either plans to work with her father or open a bakery or flower shop.
** She constantly worries that she isn't worthy of the faith her subordinates place in her, at least until Iruma makes her realize they follow her because she's their friend, not because of her position.
** Every member of the Student Council were students that were down on their luck delinquents that she rescued. Because of this they are very loyal to her.
* KickChick: She uses SuperStrength rather than magic in combat, and while she is willing to use her fists if necessary, her legs are by far her deadliest weapons.
* LadyOfWar: She's one of the best fighters in school, and backs up her phenomenal strength with graceful, refined martial arts.
* LethalChef: Try as she might, she can't cook. She tried to cook for her father as a child, who didn't exactly stomach it. And then she tries to make Valentine's Day cookies, what she made looks like it belongs in the 5th layer of Hell. Opera had to intervene and help her and Iruma how to cook.
* LoveEpiphany: Eventually realizes her crush on Iruma after the incident involving [[spoiler:her personality being reversed]].
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: With the shy, sensitive Iruma - she's a quintessential TomboyWithAGirlyStreak, and bonds with him because he has the same girly hobbies she does.
* MirrorMoralityMachine: [[spoiler:She gets her personality reversed while Iruma was temporarily joining the Student Council.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll: She emanates a calm and imposing demeanor befitting a tough student council president. But she turns into a ClosetGeek when reading the forbidden books of humanity, aka shoujo manga.
* PsychoactivePowers: Her bloodline ability uses self suggestion to draw out their maximum power. The only downside would be if they doubt themselves or are scared of the enemy they get weak.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: She suspected Iruma was a human because he summoned a demon rather than a familiar and created a Sakura Tree, a plant that only existed in the human world. However what convinced her he was a human is that he "tried" to use a CrashIntoHello to make her fall in love with him, something that was a complete accident and she only thought that because it's what happened in the manga she was reading.
* RunningGag: She gets mad at Iruma when he offers her something and she takes it to be a more romantic jester than it actually is, then get reminded he didn't actually say that.
* SecretSecretKeeper: She figured out that Iruma was a human, but keeps it to herself.
* ShesGotLegs: She's a tall, attractive KickChick in a short skirt, and her fight scenes are unsurprisingly heavy on showing off her long, shapely legs.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her given name can also be translated as Amelie.
* StatuesqueStunner: She's the tallest female in the series and towers over Iruma easily. In fact she towers over most demons in the school along with most of the faculty. Her father is even taller, so this is probably a familial trait. She's also very attractive.
* StrongAndSkilled: She may rely on raw strength to fight rather than magic, but that doesn't make her a simple brute - she's a highly skilled martial artist with a graceful, refined fighting style.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Long hair notwithstanding, Ameri is the spitting image of her father.
* StudentCouncilPresident: She definitely has the personality and power of a disciplined leader of the student council.
* SuperStrength: She doesn't use much magic in combat, but she's one of the strongest students in school, able to down even the biggest demons with a punch to the jaw or kick straight through a stone wall.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Parodied. When she realizes that Clara is a potential love rival for Iruma, Ameri states she now knows how the love rival in ''Hatsukoi Memory'' feels.
* ThinksLikeARomanceNovel: Like a romance ''manga''. Reading too much of the Forbidden Books makes her picture every encounter with Iruma as a scene from ''Hatsukoi Memory''.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Ameri stands nearly two heads taller than Iruma. Case in point, they are closer in height when she’s sitting down... on the floor. To be more specific, Ameri standing is two heads taller than Iruma when he’s standing, while he’s one head taller than her if he stays standing while she’s sitting on the ground. [[spoiler:This made more noticeable during their "date", as many of the romantic activities (such as being held from behind and hand holding) were more difficult to pull off due to their height difference.]]
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She's a deadly fighter and terrifying disciplinarian who's also a huge fan of shoujo romance manga and considers opening a bakery or flower shop after she graduates. Notably, Iruma himself has girly enough interests that this becomes the first thing they bond over.
* {{Tsundere}}: Unlike most examples, she definitely knows she likes the guy she's tsundere for, and has no issues with him personally - her problem is reconciling it with her own self-appointed social role. She's the terrifying demon queen of Bablys's student body and takes immense pride in her position and her work, but hanging out with Iruma, geeking out over shoujo manga, and letting herself be an ordinary teenage girl is far too much fun. Needless to say, this causes friction.
* UninhibitedMusclePower: The main aspect of the Romanticist bloodline power involves drawing out the full extent of the users abilities so long as they hold absolute confidence in theirself. However, as could be expected, once the effect wears off Ameri ends up with her whole body in agony from pushing her body to it's limit and keeping it there for as long as it took to beat her enemy.
* WhatIsThisFeeling: She often has heart-fluttering feelings when thinking about Iruma that she doesn't know how to describe. She eventually affirms her affection for him, though.

* AscendedExtra: Gets a lot more screen time in the anime compared to the manga.
* AmbiguouslyBi: While she started crushing on Iruma after being saved by him, episode 17's [=SuKiMa=] skit has her getting a crush on Ameri for the same reason. Though it's unclear if that was meant simply as a gag, or if she's legitimately started being attracted to Ameri.
* MissedHimByThatMuch: A RunningGag with her in the anime is that she keeps missing her chance to talk to Iruma.
* RescueRomance: The anime shows that after being saved by Iruma from Azz' attack, she developed a crush on him
* SatelliteLoveInterest: In the anime, pretty much all of her lines are just her showing admiration for Iruma.
* StalkerWithACrush: Since the day he saved her, she fell for Iruma and often follows him around in an attempt to get close enough to talk to him. Her stalking [[StalkerWithoutACrush isn't due to her crush, however,]] and instead is because she wants to thank him for the rescue. Azz' constant, somewhat frightening presence and her having unfortunate timing just keep getting in the way of her attempts.

[[spoiler:Even when it's revealed that a good deal of his weakness is being exaggerated to seem completely helpless, and thus beneath suspicion, his body still is indeed rather frail and he'll cough up blood if he genuinely overexerts himself, though the effort to cause that is much higher than when he's faking super-fragility.]]

[[folder:Lomiere Ronove]]

----
* AccidentalMisnaming: He's absolutely terrible at remembering names. Not once since he met Iruma has he actually called him "Iruma", even when he started liking him.
* AttentionWhore: He absolutely loves being the center of attention, which his bloodline power only exacerbates.
* {{Bishonen}}: He's even more of a pretty-boy than Asmodeus, including girly eyelashes and waist-length hair, and is fully willing to flaunt it.
* CampStraight: He certainly looks the part with his tight clothing, flamboyant makeup and sissy demeanor. Not to mention the constant BishieSparkle going on around him. Yet despite that he always has at least two girls hanging around him. He also has expressed disliking towards being touched by other guys.
* {{Catchphrase}}: Likes to shout "It's me!" when he wants to direct attention to himself.
* CharmPerson: Of a different sort than Elizabeth, his bloodline allows him to instantly draw the attention of everybody nearby towards him, no matter what they were doing before.
* DefeatMeansRespect: Ronove is recruited into the student council despite running against Ameri.
* DramaQueen: Has a major flair for theatrics, to the point of always being surrounded by rose petals. He's also prone to freaking out, even crying, when anybody does anything that upsets him.
* DrawAggro: A potential application of his bloodline power is to force somebody or something that is attacking someone else to focus on him instead, such as [[spoiler:when he draws the attention of the exploding monster fusion in Walter Park his way.,. something he didn't actually put much thought into since he was simply disliking how the monsters weren't paying any attention to him the entire time, meaning he ended up with a beam of explosive death aimed right at him with no way to personally defend himself. * TheFriendNobodyLikes: He often annoys the people around him, but he is necessary for the Magical Tool Research Club, as they need a second year student to be an official school club.
* GotVolunteered: He was forced to be a member of the Magic Tool Research Division by Ameri as she deemed him too dangerous to be left alone and the club needed a second year student to be deemed official so it also helped Iruma. It also appeared that the Student Council was getting annoyed with him showing up.

* AscendedExtra: Downplayed since while she's not a major or secondary character, in the anime she shows up in almost every episode which shows bits of her personality, while in the manga she only had background appearances with the closest thing to a major appearance being chapter 90.
* {{Cyclops}}: She only has one eye.
* LovableAlphaBitch: She normally acts very haughty, seeing herself above every other girl and considering herself a major-league beauty, and almost always shows up in a posse of the other girl extras, but despite this, she never does anything harmful, and in fact is fully open to complimenting people if they match her standards for things besides beauty, which are actually pretty reasonable.
* ProudBeauty: Despite not having an attractive body, at least by human standards, she often acts like she's the WorldsMostBeautifulWoman. Her sheer level of confidence in her looks actually lands her in the Succubus Battler later on.
* ReadingsAreOffTheScale: When Professor Riam used her Ero-Scope on her, her number is censored but heavily suggested to be quite bad.

[[folder:Henri Azazel]]
Ameri's father and the demon security chief of Demon Border Control.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: Not unlike his daughter, to the public he projects the image of a no-nonsense security chief who always does what's best for demonkind, but beneath that is a man who absolutely adores his daughter, is extremely protective of her wellbeing, and has been shown to be just as capable of acting awkward in certain situations, such as his first meeting with Iruma, where due to some choice words by Ameri when she tries to explain how she knows Iruma, causes him to come to the (at the time) misunderstanding that Ameri wants to marry Iruma.
* DotingParent: He's ''[[OverprotectiveDad really]]'' protective of his daughter, so much so that the mere thought of Ameri and Iruma spending time alone talking about romantic stuff is enough to make him dizzy.
* OverprotectiveDad: When he mistakes Ameri and Iruma for already being in a relationship, he becomes very defensive.
* PoorCommunicationKills: He gets suspicious when Ameri states that she and Iruma often talk with each other. She only adds to the misunderstanding by stating that they are usually alone, after school, drinking tea while talking about love and their future (with her meaning their dreams). He takes that as them talking about marriage and that they're already in a romantic relationship.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He projects the aura of a serious no-nonsense officer willing to do anything, even kill people, to uphold order, but that's just a facade in order to keep other demons in line. He's actually a pretty reasonable well-meaning officer who does his best to keep everybody happy while still maintaining order, such as being in charge of making sure humans that end up in the netherworld safely make it back to the human world unharmed, before they risk running into people that would genuinely want to harm them.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Like his daughter, he also has the habit of squishing Iruma's face with his hands.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He pretty much looks like an older male version of Ameri.

* BoyishShortHair: While spiky, her hair doesn't go past her neck, and she has a rather tomboyish demeanor.
* CoolBigSis: She pretends to be Iruma's sister to save him from some shady people. She then proceeds to spend some time acting like a doting older sister to him.
* FaceOfAThug: She's got a rather stern face, as well as an intense glare, which causes her to scare away animals when she tries to touch them, but based on the short amount of time Iruma was with her, she doesn't seem to be a bad person. Until it's revealed that she's part of the Six Fingers terrorist group, anyway.
* StealthHiBye: After she gets Iruma back to his group, when Iruma turns back to introduce her to his classmates she'd already vanished back off to work.

[[folder:The Valac Family]]
Clara's family, consisting of her mother and father, eldest brother Urala, middle brother Konchie, youngest brother Keebow, and twin younger sisters Sin-Sin and Ran-Ran
----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: The anime has them make their animated debut in episode 8, during a segment adapting Ch. 17 of the manga, which is 19 chapters before they would officially introduce themselves in the manga.
* BlackSheep: Urala, the oldest son of the Valac family, is [[OnlySaneMan much more serious]] compared to the natural {{Cloudcuckooland}} that makes up the rest of his family, to the point Kalego thought they actually kidnapped him and sympathizes with him "resisting those genes". However, despite not going along with his family's craziness, it is clear that he still loves them and they love him back.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: All of them are just as weird as Clara, except for Urala.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Clara's mother, who takes this a bit further than Stolas Suzy in that we have yet to see her open them at all. Well, in the manga anyway. She does occasionally open them in the anime, with the final episode of Season 1 having her have them open for the majority of her screen-time.
* TheGhost: Clara always mentions her father alongside the rest of her family, but he's never seen with them.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: Counting Clara, there are three brothers and three sisters.
* MotorMouth: When the mom first meets Iruma and Azz, she speaks incredibly quickly with high energy about how happy she is to have them caring for her, showing where Clara got that from.
* ThePowerOfCreation: Given their the family line from whom Clara gets her power, all of them (besides the parent that married into the family) obviously have the ability to re-create anything they've seen before.
