* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: When Kairos Fateweaver tries tempting to El'Jonson into the service of the Ruinous Powers on behalf of Tzeentch, El'Jonson stabs him and sarcastically asks if he had foreseen that. Essentially, the Lion by proxy tells ''Tzeentch'' to piss off.

He sees it as not only immoral to subject loyal citizens to such brutality when they were promised a better life in the Imperium, but wasteful and dangerous. * MightyGlacier: The Thunder Warriors were equipped with the Mk 1 power armor. These suits provided enhanced strength and durability, but were so crudely designed that they didn't include motors in the lower body. Without power to the legs, the wearer had to constantly fight against the weight of their own armor to so much as walk. Even with their great strength, this severely limited the speed and mobility a Thunder Warrior could have compared to their Astartes successors' improved Mk 2 and beyond armors.

* SuperPrototype: Thunder Warriors were stronger and better than Space Marines in most physical respects -- they grew larger, were stronger and more durable than even the superhuman Astartes. In much the same vein as a Marine can kill a human with a hard punch, a Thunder Warrior could cave in a Marine's skull with a headbutt. The reason why the Emperor toned things down with the Astartes, in addition to the mental instabilities of the Thunder Warriors model, was that making entire armies of such powerful and over-engineered soldiers was too expensive to be viable for the scale he needed to work at after Terra's unification.

* IdiotBall: Many of the Emperor's decisions were so obviously wrong it's hard to imagine how a sensible human being could have made them, never mind a supposedly perfect being. Take, as a perfect example, the situation with the rescue of Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters Legion. The Emperor discovers Angron in the final stages of a Film/{{Spartacus}} scenario, poised to be wiped out by a vastly superior number of forces. Having approached Angron in secret, Angron refuses to abandon his comrades and is willing to die with them. The Emperor's options include summoning his own forces to reinforce Angron's, whisking all of Angron's army aboard his massive spaceships, or unleashing an orbital barrage to at least devastate the enemy army so that Angron's force can win. Instead, as Roboute Guilliman had already brought the other side into the Imperium, he chooses to whisk Angron away from the battlefield at the last moment and leave Angron's friends and followers to be utterly wiped out, leaving Angron bitter, resentful, hating the Emperor, and full of rage -- in other words, a perfect candidate to swear allegiance to Khorne in order to take revenge. Some of these decisions are explained as a result of his inability to emphasize with others and his total focus on achieving his dream for humanity's future, but others can't.

* DavidVsGoliath: How the battle between himself and Angron goes in "Arks of Omen"; despite his power as a Primarch, he's vastly outmatched in a battle of sheer strength against his brother who has long since become [[EldritchAbomination a Daemon Primarch]] and practically one of Khorne's greatest champions — but true to his skill as one of the greatest (if not ''the'' greatest) duelists in the galaxy, the Lion is able to use his wit to outsmart and overwhelm his brother and finally allowing him to destroy Angron's corporeal form.

* HumanoidAbomination: Not on the level of the Emperor, but the Horus Heresy books show unaugmented humans suffering {{Brown Note}}s upon seeing the Primarchs. It's described as sensory overload for weak willed normal humans to be near them.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Angron loves to talk about how the Butcher's Nails ruined him, only to use them on his own legion.
* ImmortalImmaturity: They all have a penchant for being much more irrational, impatient and petty than one would expect from genetically perfect superhumans. Particularly if it involves someone questioning their authority. The Traitor Primarchs especially having worse emotional issues than their Loyalist brethren. It's implied that this is a side effect of rapidly aging to adulthood: because the Primarchs physically grew so quickly, they all missed the vital emotional and social development that can only properly happen over the period of childhood and adolescence, leaving them far less well-adjusted and mature than they should be.

When exposed to the Warp long enough, they can learn to embrace their nature and grow as powerful as any of their brother's daemonic forms under their own efforts. If the results of the battle between Corax and the daemonic Lorgar were any indication, the Primarchs that accepted daemonhood from Chaos may have actually limited their innate potential.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: They're as prone to hypocrisy as any baseline human. For example: Angron loves to talk about how the Butcher's Nails ruined him, only to use them on his own legion.

* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Many of the Primarchs comment on feeling alienated from the humans they spent their youth among thanks to their enhanced intellect. It wasn't until they were reunited with the Emperor and their brothers that they finally met other people that they could interact with as equals.
