* ArchEnemy: While on NXT, Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Being mainly used as a jobber, he only had one sort of program: It was when Wrestling/KellyKelly and Drew [=McIntyre=] were having a storyline together and Kelly showed concern for Barreta after a match.
* DemotedToExtra: He was mainly seen on Superstars or NXT.
* IHaveTheHighGround: Was mainly a highflyer.
* {{Jobber}}: Due to his small stature he was mainly this during his tenure.
* PutOnABus: First due to an injury, [[TheBusCameBack then made some appearances on NXT]], then released.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Well, [[Wrestling/ZackRyder Zack]] was wondering at least in his [[WebVideo/ZTrueLongIslandStory Youtube show]] in a segment called "Where is Trent".

[[quoteright:234:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zach-gowen_7346.jpg]]
* ArchEnemy: Wrestling/VinceMcMahon
* DistractedByTheSexy: Wrestling/{{Sable}} flashed him, though nothing was shown on screen, of course, to help Vince [=McMahon=] defeat him in an arm-wrestling match on the June 12, 2003 ''[=SmackDown!=]''.
* HandicappedBadass: He's the only professional wrestler who wrestles with one leg.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: His Prosthetic Leg.
* LittlestCancerPatient: Had cancer as kid, which why he only has one leg.
* TheLoad: Due to only having one leg this was sometime a problem.
* MoralityPet: For Wrestling/StephanieMcMahon
* RedHerringShirt
* {{Sidekick}}: To Mr. America (Hulk Hogan)

!!! The Great Khali (Dalip Singh Rana) 2006-2014
[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the-great-khali-bio_4554.png]]
* AntiVillain: He only worked with Jinder Mahal to protect his sister's honor.
* AchillesHeel / RealLifeWritesThePlot: He started off a force to be reckoned with, however, in real life his knees began to deteriorate. Smaller wrestlers like Wrestling/{{CodyRhodes}} began to take advantage of this, being able to defeat Khali within minutes just by going after his knees.
* UsefulNotes/{{Bollywood}}: He's from India.
* TheBrute: As a heel.
* TheDogBitesBack: He eventually got tired of Jinder and punched him.
* DemotedToExtra: He was a force to be reckon with when he debuted, but these days he is more of a comic relief character.
* DumbMuscle: For Jinder Mahal. During his heel run in 2011, he was cured when he had enough of Jinder's bullshit.
* FinishingMove: Khali Bomb/Punjabi Plunge (Two handed Chokedrop), Khali Vise Grip.
* ForeignWrestlingHeel: When he debuted, he was a heel.
* FunnyForeigner: After his HeelFaceTurn.
* GentleGiant: At least when he's a face.
* TheGiant: Dude is 7 feet tall!
* GimmickMatches: Introduced the Punjabi Prison match.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor
* AHeroToHisHometown: More popular in India than probably anywhere else by several magnitudes. He's absolutely despised everywhere else, regardless of whether he's a face or heel.
* PutOnABus: Courtesy of Wrestling/MarkHenry.
** TheBusCameBack: A few months later.
* TheQuietOne[=/=]TheUnintelligible: His speech is rather muddled, though his brother Ranjin could understand his Punjabi, and for some reason Natalya could understand him when she was his manager.
* UnrelatedBrothers: with Ranjin Singh.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: He got sick of Mahal's threats and bullying, broke away from him, and then kicked his ass. Between the sudden end to the feud, as well as either Mahal's inability or his unwillingness to speak English when on camera, we never found out whether Mahal was bluffing or whether he did indeed divorce Khali's sister. And looked like it wouldn't be addressed as he started a feud with Ted [=DiBiase=] Jr, and Khali was out with an injury thanks to Mark Henry. However, when Khali returned at the Royal Rumble, he was referred to as Mahal's brother-in-law.
* TheWorfEffect: For one reason or another, Khali frequently gets injured in-storyline to be prevented from participating in multi-man matches.

!!! Heidenreich (Jon Heidenreich) 2003-2006
[[quoteright:145:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heidenreich_1364.jpg]]
* AbortedArc: Who [[DoubleEntendre or]] [[ICallHimMisterHappy what]] "Little Johnny" was is never explained even though he or it was responsible for Heidenreich's early victories.
* TheBigGuy: His debut and as a member of the [[Wrestling/TheRoadWarriors LOD]].
* TheBrute
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: As a face in 2005. He was often looking for a new friend and would read his poems which he called "[=Disasterpieces=]".
* TheGhost[=/=]ImaginaryFriend: One of the theories for Little Johnny.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Type A.
* LastNameBasis: After his {{Heel}} turn.
* PsychoSupporter: For Wrestling/BookerT.
* WrestlingMonster

!!! [[Wrestling/TheNexus Ezekiel Jackson]] (Rycklon Stephens) 2008-2014
[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezekiel-bio_1956.png]]
* BaldOfAwesome: As a face.
** BaldofEvil: As a heel.
* TheBigGuy: When he was a {{Face}}.
** TheBrute: When he was a {{Heel}}.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: He once scoop-slammed Wrestling/TheBigShow and put The Great Khali in the Torture Rack.
* DemotedToExtra: See SmallNameBigEgo below.
* EvilVersusEvil: Against Vladimir Kozlov in WWECW.
* FinishingMove: A modified uranage and a torture rack.
* GeniusBruiser
* GentleGiant
** BewareOfTheNiceOnes: In his own words "Don't Mistake My Kindness For Weakness."
* PutOnABus: Was out due to an injury, never returned to television, and was then released.
* ScaryBlackMan: They tried to push him as a force to reckon with, but some BadassDecay later and he was DemotedToExtra until an injury put him on the shelf before his release.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Was due for a renewed push in 2012, but before it even got started, he was bragging about it and annoyed others to the point where a fight nearly started in the locker-room. Vince [=McMahon=] got wind of the situation and thus the push was halted and his BadassDecay was part of his punishment.
* SquashMatch: His first match on Smackdown saw him squash Super Crazy. He also competed against Vladimir Kozlov in a contest to see who could squash jobbers harder.
* UnderwearOfPower: As practiced by many other wrestlers.
* VillainTeamUp: William Regal convinced him and Vladimir to put aside their differences and help him win Christian's ECW championship. Kozlov got kicked out but Regal stuck around and helped Ezekiel win the title after he failed to win it.

!!! K.C. James (Kurt Sellers) 2006-2008
* [[BreakupBreakout The Jannetty]]: To [[Wrestling/DamienSandow Idol Stevens]].
* {{Jobber}}: Became this after Wrestling/MichelleMcCool was hospitalized in November 2006.
* PutOnABus: Was sent packing in August 2008 after jobbing to Wrestling/EvanBourne and Braden Walker.
* TagTeam: The Teacher's Pets with Idol Stevens.

!!! Nathan Jones (2002-2003)
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nathanjoneswwe_2299.jpg]]
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Discovered powerlifting while in {{Prison}} for armed robbery.
* DemotedToExtra: After Team Angle d. Team Lesnar at ''Wrestling/SurvivorSeries 2003.''
* FinishingMove: Chokeslam, Torture Rack
* GlassCannon: Big and strong but very injury-prone.
* PutOnABus: Down to OVW in 2002 so he could work on his skills.
* RedBaron: "The Colossus of Boggo Road," which was where the prison he was sentenced to was located.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Quit during a tour in Australia in December 2003 because he hated the heavy work schedule.

See his [[Wrestling/LowKi dedicated character page]] for his list of tropes.

!!! Ken Kennedy (Ken Anderson) 2005-2009
See his [[Wrestling/KenAnderson dedicated character page]] for his list of tropes.

!!! [[Wrestling/TysonKiddAndCesaro Tyson Kidd]] (Theodore James "T.J." Wilson) 2009-
[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tyson-kidd-bio_4580.png]]

* AdaptationalBadass: Of a sort. Like his partner Cesaro, Tyson Kidd is presented as FAR more dangerous on NXT, with the show going into detail on his technical skill and versatility. During the first Takeover special, he was presented as an equal to the NXT Champion Adrian Neville and Neville's toughest challenge.
* ArchEnemy: The Usos, while part of the Hart Dynasty. Yoshi Tatsu and Michael [=McGillicutty=] and AdrianNeville on NXT.
* BaldOfAwesome: As a face.
* BaldOfEvil: As a heel.
* CatchPhrase: As a heel as of mid-late 2014 on Wrestling/{{WWENXT}}: "FACT"
* CatLover: Shares this distinction with Nattie in real life. It's recently become part of his character.
* CharlieBrownBaldness[=/=]IdiotHair: The small "crown" of hair he used to wear at the fore of his dome.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: With [[Wrestling/NatalyaNeidhart Natalya]] to whom he's married.
* DavidVsGoliath: Has a couple of televised wins over Prince Al-er...'''[[TheBrute Tensai]]''' to his credit.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After they had a match, which he lost, on Superstars, he and Justin Gabriel formed a tag team.
* DemotedToExtra: Went from being in a successful tag team to spending his days on NXT and Superstars. Recently subverted, as he currently now not only is he a in a pretty successful team with [[Wrestling/ClaudioCastagnoli Cesaro]], he and Cesaro were the WWE Tag Team Champion's for a good while. The team is unfortunately on a hiatus due to Kidd suffering a severe neck injury from a live event.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Much like Natalya, seems to flip back and forth with very little warning or setup. Currently, as of now face, alongside Natalya and Cesaro.
* LastOfHisKind: The last graduate of the Hart Family Dungeon.
* RealMenWearPink: As part of the Hart Dynasty, started to wear basic black after the break-up.
* RunningGag: Had a new manager accompany him every (other) week (on Superstars). This eventually became an AbortedArc.
* ScreamingWarrior: "YEEEAAAAHH!!!" several times during every match.
* UnderwearOfPower: Although he has now switched to long tights.
* WrestlingFamily: Considered by many to be an 'honorary' member of the Harts due to his longtime affiliation with them. He officially married into the family in 2013 with his wedding to [[Wrestling/NatalyaNeidhart Natalya.]]

* TheBigGuy: As a face.
* TheBrute: As a heel.
* {{Expy}}: Of Lex Luger.
* TheFightingNarcissist: At first, not so much later on.
* FinishingMove: The Masterlock, a wrenching full nelson on steroids, [[{{Pun}} in more ways than one]]. His initial gimmick [[CreatorsPet kind of made it a big deal]].
* GeniusBruiser: Reads books on politics on the road.
* PecFlex: Oh man. He did this thing '''A LOT''' in his run. He's got to be one of the most famous modern examples you could think of in professional wrestling or in general.
* RedBaron: "The Masterpiece."
* SmallNameBigEgo: As a Heel.
* TestosteronePoisoning: During the mock Jerry Springer show, Eve claims to have dumped him in favor of somebody who was much more manly than him. His response? "That's impossible!"

[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jamie-noble-bio_879.png]]
* BeardOfEvil
* ButtMonkey: Well he was on the losing end of a feud with Hornswoggle, a fact that always makes you one of these, and he was disliked by general manager Vickie Guerrero on top of it. Later became this to an extent as part of J&J Security with Joey Mercury.
* CorruptCop: As part of J&J Security.
* CorruptHick
* DeepSouth
* FinishingMove: A tiger driver and a submission hold he called the trailer hitch.
* GameBreakingInjury: Thanks to Sheamus Powerbombing him on the floor outside of the ring, which forced him to retire.
* JustHitHim: All of his elaborate schemes to do away with Hornswaggle, when all he needed to do was, well, you know.
* KarmaHoudini: Pretty much. Losing his girlfriend because of his mistreatment of her seems pretty fair at first, for example, but then gets to beat her in a match, technically broke the rules to do so, and there was no payoff for it. Aside from Nidia though, the {{face}}s Jamie feuded with were largely not the type who could give him a beating that would please fans without being completely out of character. This might be the reason for his aforementioned butt monkey status later, to make up for lost time (though it is more likely that Vince had decided to phase out the cruiserweight division, leaving a lot less for guys like Jamie Noble to do).
* {{Lust}}: A flaw of his, he used the money he got from winning a lottery to try and bribe Torrie Wilson into sleeping with him. This was despite him having a girlfriend at the time, and strangely enough ended up in a foursome also involving Billy Gunn. His inability to ignore Miss Jackie ultimately results in him losing a match he probably should have won to Rico. His infatuation with Layla did end up working out, eventually, for a little while, but then William Regal stole her away.
* RagsToRiches: Inherited a lot of money. Jury's still out on whether he didn't know what to do with it or simply chose not to use it to move beyond his roots.
* {{Revenge}}: He feuded with Tajiri over the fact Tajiri made his girlfriend Nidia blind.
** HumanShield: This is what Jamie ended up using Nidia since she could not see what was happening. He would then blame everything that happened to her on Rey Mysterio, giving her a deep seated fear of him.
* StrawMisogynist: Not on purpose; he was just kind of ignorant and not good with his words. Nonetheless it earned him the wrath of Vickie.
* WouldHitAGirl: He was willing to attack Dawn Marie to ensure Nidia got a win on Velocity. (Dawn of course focused her payback on Nidia rather than Jamie). Downplayed with Nidia herself, whom he would shove and use to save himself from other people's hits while blind, but when it came to an actual fight between them, he opted to make her tap out.
* UnderwearOfPower: When he wasn't wearing denim shorts.
* [[UnrelatedBrothers Unrelated Cousins]]: To Nunzio.
* VerbalTic: "Jamie Noble boy".

!!! Christopher Nowinski (Christopher John Nowinski) 2002-2003, 2005
[[quoteright:216:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/christopher_nowinski_2247.jpg]]
* AbhorrentAdmirer: For Wrestling/MollyHolly for a time. William Regal would tell him to focus on wrestling and not on "rogering" her.
* TheBusCameBack: Briefly so that he could help the Smackdown Your Vote campaign.
* FinishingMove: The Honor Role (Swinging double underhook suplex), a reference to his Harvard Graduation.
* GameBreakingInjury: He is most famous not for any of his accomplishments but for retiring from wrestling after getting a concussion and doing extensive research on the injuries effect to athletes.
* GeniusBruiser: He was the first [[UsefulNotes/IvyLeague Harvard graduate]] in WWE history. While in ''WWE Tough Enough,'' he was known as "Chris Harvard."
* ImprobableWeaponUser: His metal face mask.
* JerkJock
* JerkassHasAPoint: He argued that a show of force or open warfare wouldn't solve any of the countries problems, back when the "War on terror" was still relatively popular.
* NotInTheFace
* TokenWhite: {{Invoked|Trope}}: He actively sought Thuggin And Buggin membership despite Theodore Long's open contempt for white people, and is actually the reason Long no longer has any contempt for white people.

!!! Nunzio (James Maritato) 2002–2008, 2010-2011

!!! [[Wrestling/TheNexus David Otunga]] (David Daniel Otunga Sr) 2010-
[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/david_otunga_bio_9544.png]]
* AmoralAttorney: His current gimmick.
* BeardOfEvil
* BowtiesAreCool: During his lawyer gimmick.
* DemotedToExtra: After losing the Tag Team titles, he disappear off TV for a while before reappearing again with a lawyer gimmick before disappearing again.
* TheEvilGenius
* FaceHeelTurn: Made quite the impression as guest host of Raw by putting himself in a tag match with Wrestling/JohnCena (to give Cena a chance to win after former partner Batista screwed him over) - and then doing the same thing Batista did, letting Cena get beaten down by [=ShowMiz=].
* GeniusBruiser: He's a Harvard Law grad.
* GenreBlindness: He was the one who suggested that Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio become champion if Wrestling/CMPunk gets [[WhatAnIdiot intentionally disqualified]].
* InTheHood: Used to wear a hoodie when coming out to compete until he started embracing his lawyer side.
* ItsAllAboutMe: His theme song.
* {{Jerkass}}: Big time. Began on NXT and never stopped.
* MeanCharacterNiceActor: he's a father and engaged to Jennifer Hudosn.
* MilesGloriosus: Thinks he's bigger name than he really is.
* PecFlex: As well as everything else.
* RedBaron: "A-List" before his lawyer gimmick.
* PowerStable: Wrestling/TheNexus. Although he wasn't as much of a factor as previously thought. Fit into the role of Enforcer, leaving the leadership to Wade Barrett.
* RunningGag: Expect someone to make fun of him by comparing him to his fiancé, Jennifer Hudson.
** Or [[Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir Carlton.]]
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere[=/=]MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: Pulled this on Wrestling/JohnLaurinaitis during Monday Night Raw after the latter was defeated and subsequently fired. Johnny tried to get his revenge by way of a three-on-one handicap match pitting Wrestling/JohnCena against himself, Otunga, and Wrestling/TheBigShow (who gave Laurinaitis the YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness treatment and just walked off). Since Laurinaitis was injured, Otunga did what he usually does - spend half the match getting the shit beaten out of him by Cena. When Otunga managed to knock Cena down, though, Laurinaitis tagged himself in and promptly [[TooDumbToLive revealed that he'd been faking his injuries]]. Otunga's response? When Laurinaitis inevitably starts getting his arse handed to him and tried to tag Otunga back in, Otunga left him high and dry to eat [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill three]] [[FinishingMove Attitude Adjustments]] from Cena.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Hoo boy.
* SmugSnake: ''Especially'' where his physique is concerned. He's well put together and ''he knows it.''
* TheStarscream: Quickly became this in The Nexus.
* UnderwearOfPower: Naturally.
* VeryPunchableMan: Being [[CorruptCorporateExecutive John Laurinaitis]]' essential number two and messenger tends to have his drawbacks. That is, Otunga often ends up being an outlet for other superstars' frustration.

** One of his {{Red Baron}}s was [[TyrannosaurusRex "T-Recks"]].
* TheBrute: When he re-debuted on Smackdown which was alter toned down, but still played up.
* DemotedToExtra: He brute-forced his way onto the Smackdown ''Bragging Rights'' team by taking out Kaval in 2010, and also made the Survivor Series team on the same brand. Then he got drafted to RAW in the 2011 draft and promptly disappeared from television. He then showed up on NXT along with Curt Hawkins, until the two briefly appeared as members of John Laurinaitis' informal stable in 2012.
* DreadlockRasta -> DreadlockWarrior
* FollowTheLeader: Subverted. Like Wrestling/ZackRyder, he and Curt Hawkins tried to capitalize on the internet by way of a Website/{{Youtube}} series. [[ScrewedByTheNetwork WWE promptly shut it down.]]
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: His wrestling style.
* PutOnABus: Asked for his release so he could spend more time with his wife and daughter.
* SmallNameBigEgo: The ultimate undercard example, along with partner Curt Hawkins.
* SurferDude: In ECW. Then he re-appeared on Smackdown Dreadlocked Brute.
* UnderwearOfPower
* VillainTeamUp: Teamed up with Curt Hawkins. This was mainly seen on season 5 of NXT. Then they got a push on Raw, but Reks decided to retire, so nothing more came of it.

!!! Alex Riley (Kevin Robert Kiley, Jr.) 2010-2016
[[quoteright:185:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Alex_Riley_6183.jpeg]]
* TheApprentice / BattleButler: To Miz, for a time.
* ArchEnemy: On NXT, it's Kevin Owens.
* CharacterDevelopment: Probably unintentional, but Alex Riley's kayfabe history is actually very well done if you think about it. He goes from SchoolyardBullyAllGrownUp in his NXT phase to getting his first big 'job' with the Miz, who turns out to be a BadBoss and even bigger bully than Riley himself. Riley finally figures out what it's like to be on the wrong end of a {{Jerkass}} and eventually stands up to the bully, realizing the error of his own ways in the process. Again, probably unintentional, but [[FridgeBrilliance pretty cool as well.]]
* DemotedToExtra: Had a toe-to-toe feud with the Miz. Pinned him clean on PPV at one point. After their feud was over, he promptly disappeared almost entirely from Raw. He's regularly seen on Superstars and NXT as a commentator.
* TheDogBitesBack: After The Miz had failed yet again to retake the title from Wrestling/JohnCena on ''Over The Limit,'' he called Riley a [[TheLoad useless bungler]] [[TheMillstone who has been actively responsible for]] [[NeverMyFault his every failure over the past few months.]] After a few humiliating slaps, he then fires Riley, to which Riley responds by ''beating the everloving hell out of the Miz,'' destroying his suit, and leaving the ring to thunderous cheering.
* FinishingMove: A fireman's carry cutter that has gone through several different names - the most recent being the "Final Score", according to TheOtherWiki.
** Also briefly used a lifting DDT that would be immediately recognizable by [[Wrestling/{{Edge}} E]]& [[Wrestling/{{Christian}} C]] fans as the Implant/Impaler DDT.
* GreenEyedMonster: His main reason for returning to NXT in 2016, jealous of the fact that guys like Apollo Crews and Finn Balor were getting so much attention instead of him.
* JerkJock: Dubbed himself "The Varsity Villain" on NXT, and ran around wearing a letterman jacket. Definitely played the part, as well.
* KickedUpstairs: Or to the announce booth, as he is these days is commentating on [[Wrestling/WWESuperstars Superstars]] and [[Wrestling/{{WWENXT}} NXT]].
* PutOnABus: Busted his leg after participating in Wrestlemania 31's Andre The Giant Memorial Rumble.
** TheBusCameBack: Recently reappeared on NXT, taking on Bull Dempsey.
* RedemptionPromotion: When he turned face. But then disappeared, see above for reason.
* TheRunnerUpTakesItAll: It looked like this would happen to Riley, as he was more successful than Kaval, who left the company by the end of 2010. First he was Miz's protégé before he turned face, and the two feuded for a short while with Riley getting the win over him at the 2011 Capitol Punishment PPV. Then he promptly [[DemotedToExtra disappeared]] and became a commentator on Superstars and NXT.
* SchoolyardBullyAllGrownUp: Was his gimmick as a heel. Was dropped once he turned face.
* SharpDressedMan: Seems to have picked up his mentor's gift for wearing a good suit.
* SmallNameBigEgo: As a heel.

* TheQuietOne[=/=]TheUnintelligible: His speech is rather muddled, though his brother Ranjin could understand his Punjabi, and for some reason Natalya could understand him when she was his manager.
* UnrelatedBrothers: with Ranjin Singh.

[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jamie-noble-bio_879.png]]
* BeardOfEvil
* CorruptHick
* DeepSouth
* VerbalTic: "Jamie Noble boy".

* JerkJock
* JerkassHasAPoint: He argued that a show of force or open warfare wouldn't solve any of the countries problems, back when the "War on terror" was still relatively popular.
* NotInTheFace
* TokenWhite: {{Invoked|Trope}}: He actively sought Thuggin And Buggin membership despite Theodore Long's open contempt for white people, and is actually the reason Long no longer has any contempt for white people.

[[quoteright:232:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/david_otunga_bio_9544.png]]
* AmoralAttorney: His current gimmick.
* BeardOfEvil
* BowtiesAreCool: During his lawyer gimmick.
* DemotedToExtra: After losing the Tag Team titles, he disappear off TV for a while before reappearing again with a lawyer gimmick before disappearing again.
* TheEvilGenius
* GeniusBruiser: He's a Harvard Law grad.
* ItsAllAboutMe: His theme song.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Hoo boy.
* SmugSnake: ''Especially'' where his physique is concerned. He's well put together and ''he knows it.''
* TheStarscream: Quickly became this in The Nexus.
* UnderwearOfPower: Naturally.
* VeryPunchableMan: Being [[CorruptCorporateExecutive John Laurinaitis]]' essential number two and messenger tends to have his drawbacks. That is, Otunga often ends up being an outlet for other superstars' frustration.

* [[AwesomeMcCoolName Awesome [=McCool=] Name]] [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast to Run Away From Really Fast]]: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] this for his ring name and said he one day wanted to hear the crowd chant "Reks Wrecks."
* DreadlockRasta -> DreadlockWarrior
* FollowTheLeader: Subverted. Like Wrestling/ZackRyder, he and Curt Hawkins tried to capitalize on the internet by way of a Website/{{Youtube}} series. [[ScrewedByTheNetwork WWE promptly shut it down.]]
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: His wrestling style.
* UnderwearOfPower

* SmallNameBigEgo: As a heel.

* ButNotTooForeign: He’s half-Korean descent, half-caucasian, all American.
* IHaveTheHighGround:
* NiceHat: Had one on whenever he didn't wrestle.
* StereotypeFlip: The entire Jimmy Wang Yang gimmick was based around this. His character (a down-home cowboy who also happened to be Korean) had him deliberately defying Asian stereotypes by being proud of his Southern heritage and wishing to be identified by his self-admitted love of being a redneck rather than being judged by his race.
